ASUS Eee Memo Pad Unofficially Leaked (Update: Now Official)

CES is always a good time to prepare a roll-out strategy for brand new products around the world. And while there’s no official word from Asus yet, we hear that the company plans to launch its own 7-inch Eee Memo Pad tablet, at the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow which will take place in Vegas from January 10th to January 13th, 2012. A firm release date has not been set, but judging from a recent leak, we do know it  will be available with a 1,280 x 800 capacitive touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, WiFi, 3G connectivity and 16, 32 or 64GB of storage capacities at your choice. The full details are yet to be disclosed, and all that’s left is for you to decide which configuration suits you best and which package will you get: this one or the Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Tough decisions!

Update: As it turns out, Asus is planning to offer TWO new Memo Pad devices and not just one as we had earlier thought. The first, the Eee Pad MeMO (ME171) that we’ve already seen before, packs a 7-inch WXGA 1,280 x 800 IPS capacitive touchscreen, along with  a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8260 processor, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR,  a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera plus 5 megapixel rear camera, GPS, gyroscope, proximity sensor, 16GB / 32GB of storage capacities, and  a micro-USB port. The 4,400mAh Li-polymer battery inside will be able to deliver up 8.5 hours of video time, on average, powered by the latest Android 4.0.1 Os running atop. General availability is scheduled for Q2 2012 in the U.S.

The second device, the  ME370T – A 7-inch  quad-core tablet, powered by a Tegra 3 chip, is likely to run an Android Ice Cream Sandwich under the hood, paired with a WiFi-only connectivity an 8 megapixel camera behind its back and some other goodies that you’ll just have to wait patiently for them a few weeks more. ASUS Eee PC Flare Netbook Pops Out In The Wild

While most of us have already forgotten about netbooks, Asus is said to launch a new line of ultra-mini laptops a few moments ahead of CES 2012. Now, whether it will be at hit is another question, but in the meantime, we’re talking about the next generation of netbook devices, dubbed Eee PC Flare, which boasts some nice and vivid seashell covers that hide underneath the new N2600 and N2800 Atom CPUs, 12-inch displays, powered by AMD’s Fusion APU lineup and those fancy chiclet keyboards. For now, the Taiwanese corp is planning to launch two models in that size: The 1225B AMD Fusion and 1225C with Cedar Trail, but if rumors are correct, we should expect some 10-incher flavors in the long term, as well (with the 1025C and 1025CE versions). Stay tuned for much more to come.

Update: As promised, we have some more details about the new collection of netbooks from Asus, called Eee PC Flare. Basically, there are four major models included: At 10-inch, there’s the 1025C that comes with a 1.6GHz Atom N2600 dual-core GPU, 1GB of DDR3-1333 memory, an integrated Intel UMA graphics, built-in Altec Lansing stereo speakers, three USB 2.0 ports,  802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity, 2-in-1 media card reader, VGA / HDMI outputs, a six-cell battery, and 0.3 megapixel webcam up front. It will be offered for $299 with one of the following flavors: Red, Blue, Gray, Pink, and last but not least, there’s a Windows 7 for the OS running on board. The Eee Pc Flare 1025CE is pretty much the same, only with a 1.86GHz Atom N2800 dual-core processor and a few more bucks ($319) to cover the cost.

On to the 12.1-inch models, the 1225B includes a 1.6GHz AMD E-450 dual-core CPU, a a 1,366 x 768 screen resolution, 2GB of DDR3-1333 memory, integrated Intel graphics, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 2-in-1 media card reader, a six-cell battery, and a  a 0.3 megapixel webcam on top. It comes with a Windows 7 Home Premium and ships next month in black, red and white colors. The last one in that group is the Eee PC X101CH version that is aimed at entry-level users, with a 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display, 1GB of RAM, integrated graphics, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and VGA ports. It’ll only set you back $269 and not a penny more.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Gets April 26th US Release

The new ASUS Eee Pad Transformer has already kicked off in Europe one month ago, and is now proceeding in North America. The 10.1-inch Transformer which has an IPS display panel under the lid alongside a 1280 by 800 HD screen resolution on top of it, comes in a variety of flavors and is said to be available for retail purchasing on Tuesday, April 26th, with prices starting at $399 for the 16GB model, while the 32GB version will cost you $499 – exactly like a WiFi only iPad 16GB model. As for the docking station – Well…I guess it will set you back roughly an extra $150 above base price, which seems quite attractive, isn’t it?

Update: And looks like the Asus Transformer US release day has been an overwhelming success so far. The $400 10.1-inch Honeycomb device is now officially “sold out” online both in Amazon and Best Buy. Well, that makes a lot of sense considering the overflowing amount of excitement that we keep hearing from many tech fans.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and Eee Slate EP121 Officially Out in The UK

Asus officially rolls out their latest and greatest Eee Slate EP121 and Eee Pad Transformer for the European market. The two, which are scheduled to start selling before the end of April 2011, are part of a fascinating high-end tablets lineup, and the first to incorporate the new Android Honeycomb / Windows 7 platforms into their budget priced models. And while the Transformer version (the one with the sliding keyboard) is said to go for £379 (16GB) and £429 (32GB), the powerful Core i5-compatible EeePad slate will set you back for a whopping £999 with a 12.1-inch IPS capacitive display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI output, a  2 megapixel front facing camera and a SD/SDHC card reader slot. Still no word on a US  release for these two mobs.

Update1: Oh! What do you want to know? US prices? Looks like we’ve unofficially managed to get ‘em for you, as US retailer Best Buy just posted them online for couple of seconds and then pulled them off. And while details aren’t confirmed yet, we’re looking at a $400 price for the 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet (the Transformer) and another $149 if you really must have the dock. Sounds very attractive, isn’t it?

Update2: And looks like we finally have an official product page for the upcoming Asus Eee Pad Transformer slate, complete with the full software details and a list of hardware specs which apparently include a 10.1-inch IPS 1280 x 800 capacitive touchscreen display (178-degree viewing angles), alongside 1GB of RAM, a Tegra 2 processor, WiFi, GPS, dual camera on front and at the back, surround stereo speakers, SD card reader and a battery pack that is capable of delivering up to 16 hours of continuous work. Software wise, there’s an Honeycomb platform running on board, together with Polaris Office suite application (for spreadsheets, presentations and documents editing), Asus own Waveshare app, a launcher UI and Adobe’s Flash 10.2 support.

Update3 The good guys over at Slashgear have finally managed to put their hands on a brand new Eee Pad Transformer slate and leaked it to the web in a nice and short walkthrough video which can be found after the break.

ASUS Eee Pad Slider and Eee Pad Transformer Android 3.0 Tablets Make Official Appearance At CES 2011

Asus just kicked out two new 10.1-inch tablets, powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 for the graphics and a pair of QWERTY sliding keyboard mods that miraculously  turn them into light and portable laptops. Sort of. But you have to admit it’s still convenient to type on physical keys rather than the virtual alternative. Basically, there are two models that fall within this category: The Eee Pad Slider (to the left) that boasts a IPS, 1280 x 800 resolution touchscreen with some sort of mechanism that looks exactly like a slider mobile phone (where the screen slides in and out), and the Eee Pad Transformer which probably got its inspiration from Lenovo’s U1 Hybrid laptop – and that means a detached screen which you can reattach to the typing base at your own will. And while the slider weights only 2.2 pounds and packs up to 1 GB of memory along with 16/32GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, optional 3G connectivity, HDMI out, mini USB, a 1.2mp front facing camera plus a 5mp one (with LED flash on the back) and a MicroSD card slot, the Transformer on the other hand, boasts pretty much the same, only with one extra USB hub, a card reader and battery pack that is claimed to deliver up to 16 hours of work. And best of all, both devices will arrive preloaded with Google’s android 3.0 platform, which you might also know as Google’s Honeycomb. As for prices, Asus says that you’ll have to shell out between $500 to $800 for the Slider and about $400 and $700 for the Transformer flavor. availability is rumored for early Q2. Full specs after the break.

Update1: We’ve added a couple of  hands-on videos, courtesy of JkkMobile. Check ‘em out after the break.

Update2: We now hear rumblings that Asus’ latest and greatest hybrid model, known as the Transformer, is going to live in the UK around May or June for £379 ($595), while the base unit will cost you a £100 ($155) more. As for the Slider version – which seems even more attractive IMHO – word on the street is that we’re looking at a July / August release with a whopping £429 ($675) price tag.

ASUS Eee Slate EP121 Officially Introduced, Has Core i5 CPU Inside

We’ve all seen the teaser ads and now, the much anticipated Eee Slate EP121 tablet from Asus is finally here. The 12.1-inch wonder that comes with a very impressive 1280 x 800 IPS display and said to include a Wacom digitizer support, will be offered by the Taiwanese giant with a Windows 7 OS on board. Yes, a Microsoft Windows platform for a change. Specs wise, we’re looking at one of the most powerful tablets ever manufactured, with Intel’s Core i5-470UM processor, paired with up to 4GB of RAM, and a 64GB SSD. WOW! in case you’re wondering, the stylus pen which Asus has also included can serve you better when it comes to freehand sketching or simply for taking notes. Wanna make a video conference or pump your HD videos on your flat screen TV? No problem at all. The EP121 comes fully equipped with a front facing camera and a single HDMI port. Sounds great, isn’t it? Absolutely yes, but not if you are broke. To put it into numbers, it’ll actually start at $1,000 for the basic unit, with availability in stores set for later this month. Full specs after the break.

Update: Asus is currently offering via Amazon a pre-order deal for its upcoming Eee Slate EP121, that will save you some green on a future purchase. Asus “Eee Slate” EP121 Video Teaser Highlights Windows 7, 12-Inch Display and HD support

CES 2011 is just around the corner, and companies are starting to throw some chum in the proverbial waters. In a new one-and-a-half-minute video that recently showed up across the pond, Asus is teasing us with its most anticipated 12-inch Windows 7-based tablet, which according to officials, is set to take off  in exactly eleven days, at the most famous electronic show around the world. We’re still not sure whether this is the EP121 tablet we’ve already seen earlier this year, or something completely new that the Taiwanese have been working on, behind the scenes, for a couple of months or even more. One way or another, the pictures below clearly indicate that Asus’ next ”Eee Slate” device will be packing a Core i5 Intel processor, along with an HDMI output, usb port, an integrated webcam, SD card reader and a Microsoft office package that the laptops-giant is planning to preload on board. And this is just a teaser, remember? Make sure to checkout the footage half past the break.

Update1: Asus has launched a new teaser for their upcoming Android tablets, the Eee Pad and Eee Slate, with what appears to be a USB 3.0 port, etched into the chassis, along with some sort of a portrait oriented slide-out keyboard panel, accompanied by a batch of Android buttons, stamped onto its top. Nothing official yet, but it definitely looks like the real thing, this time. Image after the break.

Update2: And…we have another teaser from Asus. This time we’re talking about time couple of images featuring the company’s upcoming tablets lineup, pictured in all its glory. The first device in that series appears to be the EP121 that presumably boasts some sort of a stylus pen along with a wireless keyboard support. Up next, is the EP102 with that fancy keyboard, attached into a sliding touchscreen, and then we have the EP101 which looks quite similar, only as a netbook form factor. And last but not least, the EP71 -that seems to be a basic fundamental of any media player. Wanna see them? hit the jump and check ‘em out.

ASUS Eee PC 1215T Netbook Breaks Cover With AMD Neo Processor Inside

At this point you’re probably rather confused as to what netbook, if any, you really need. Generally speaking, it’s not as hard as you might imagine, particularly when most ultra mini laptops are usually packing Intel’s most recent Atom processors (e.g single-core Atom N450, 455, 470, 475 or dual-core Atom N550) along with 1GB of RAM and GMA 3150 card for the graphics. That been said, there are however a few exceptions to this specific rule. One of them is the new Asus Eee PC 1215T netbook which comes with a single core 1.7GHz AMD Athlon K125 processor and offers 2GB of DDR3 memory (instead of the common 1GB) and a 320GB hard drive on board. The 12.1-inch (1366 x 768) system is now being offered on Amazon for merely $436 as potential buyers are likely to get it together with a 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, three USB 2.0 hubs. 0.3MP webcam and Windows 7 Home Premium for the OS platform. Still confused?

ASUS EeePad EP90 Tablet Pops Out In The Wild With Tegra 2 Inside

Remember this Asus Eeepad tablet lineup we’ve seen in Computex? Well folks, It looks like it’s going to take an 8.9-inch 1024×600 display, paired with a dual-core 1GHz processor and a Tegra 2 graphics to bring this one about. Though still unofficial, this 650g of sleek and sturdy body weight – supposedly called EeePad EP90 – is likely to house either 16 or 32GB of storage, while battery is said to deliver up to 6 hours of work. Other than that, and without knowing any price or availability details, it is not possible to say much more, but in general (whether it’d run Windows or Android platforms), you’ll probably get everything you expected, including an integrated webcam, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, SD card reader, HDMI output and one single USB port. At this point we are still looking for a confirmation from the Taiwanese, and hope to stop back very soon and report.

ASUS Eee PC 1015PN And 1015PEM Are Said To Include Intel’s New Dual-Core Atom Processor

Oh what a hottie we have in here…A brand new Eee PC netbooks lineup with Intel’s dual-core, mobile Atom N550 processor included? Apparently yes, that’s exactly what Taiwanese corp Asus is planning for us in the coming months. The first version in that group is the 1015PEM, which boasts the new 1.5GHz N550 CPU, paired with a 10.1-inch (1024×600) LED display, 0.3MP webcam, up to 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 160/250/320 GB HDD at your choice, Intel’s GMA X3150 for the graphics and Windows 7 Starter edition for the OS platform – all priced competitively at €349 (about $440). The second group member is the 1015PN, which is rumored to make a US debut next month with NVIDIA’s Ion 2 module and some other cool goodies inside. Stay tuned for a lot more to come.

Update: Looks like Amazon is finally stepping up and offering the 10.1-inch Asus 1015PN netbook with both Intel’s dual-core 1.5GHz Atom N550 processor and Nvidia ION 2 graphics for $429.99 only. Shipping dates, however, are yet to be determined.

ASUS Eee PC 1015, 1016 and 1018 Netbooks are Set and Ready To Go Out This Coming August

Remember ASUS’s next generation Eee PC netbooks lineup which we first saw on CeBIT back in February? Well, turns out they’re already out of “prep” mode and finally ready to make it out to the market. These three models we speak about are the Eee PC 1015, 1016 and 1018, as the first one, the 1015 model – that doesn’t have any price or availability details yet – is said to go live later this year, while the other two, 1016 and 1018 – both coated with a nice sort of a metal brush cover – are rumored to arrive the US market somewhere around August, as the 1018P is going to cost you $429.99, and in exchange will offer a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, along 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and three USB 3.0 ports. The third in the group is the 1016P, which will set you back for $499.99 that will buy you that same Atom N455 processor, this time tucked with 2GB of memory and 320GB of storage. Stay tuned for a lot more to come.

Update: And looks like the 1018p and 1015p models are already up on on Best Buy’s online store and ready for your orders.

The latest, called Eee PC 1201K, is said to run an AMD Geode NX 1750 processor paired with a SiS 741GX/966L chipset. Basically it’s a 12.1-inch mini laptop device, housing a 1GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, multi-card reader, an integrated 0.3mp webcam and surprise-surprise – a Windows XP inside, really? anyway, price or availability are yet to be determined.

Oh, what do we have here? Another 10.1-inch netbook? ASUS 10-inch EPad Tablet Surfaces in Computex 2010

Asus is really getting us confused. It wasn’t so long ago when we wrote a post, reporting about the new EEE tablets lineup the company is expected to launch shortly, with new models like 12-inch Eee Pad EP121 and the 10-inch Eee Pad EP101TC. So far so good, right? Wrong! Because the guys at jkkmobile have just spotted (in Computex 2010) yet another model which suspiciously looks pretty similar to the EP101TC, this time carrying an “EPad” title written on a placard, up front. Now, whether it’s the same tablet or not, this “new” revelation houses a 10-inch capacitive display, running Windows 7 for the OS and probably, just probably NVIDIA Tegra 2 under the coat. The CPU is clearly from Intel, however we can’t be sure what other internal parts this bad boy will boast. For the meantime, make sure you check out the hands-on video after the jump.

Well, there’s not really that much to say about it, so let’s make it plain and simple: Asus has officially launched an online App Store for netbooks, and as much as we were excited to hear that, there’s still a long way to go. We just wanted to give them as much notice as possible. Stay tuned!

ASUS 12-inch and 10-Inch Eee Pads Now Official, Win 7 And Intel CULV CPU Onboard (Update: Eee Pad EP101TC)

We have previously reported a rumor about a future Asus Eee Pad devices, and today the rumor starts floating again, apparently becomes official. Basically, there seem to be at least two different models of this coming slate – a 12-inch tablet (AKA: EP121), boasting Intel’s Core 2 Duo CULV processors and running a Windows 7 platform for the OS, that is paired with a 10-hour battery pack, one integrated USB 2.0 hub and built-in webcam, while second version, the EP101TC, is a 10-inch capacitive tablet running Windows Embedded Compact 7 platform for the OS and some sort of a Tegra chipset for graphics handling. Both versions are said to have optional docking cradle for keyboard use with Q1, 2011 as a target release and prices ranged between $399 to $499 at most. Engadget’s Joanna Stern hands on video after the break.

Update: Word on the street is that Asus has apparently ditched the idea of having a Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS onboard in favor of Google’s Android platform – either Froyo or Gingerbread (Android 3.0), we still don’t know. As a matter of fact, it appears that the Taiwanese company is currently working on few updated prototypes that should eventually run Mountain View’s operating system onboard, whenever out, next year, at Computex 2011.

ASUS Eee PC 1215 Netbook Breaks Cover Boasting Ion Graphics and Dual USB 3.0 Hubs

The Eee PC 1201PN is a relatively new netbook from Asus sporting the new Intel Atom N450 processor, paired with a 12.1-inch 1366×768 display and Nvidia’s Ion 2 graphics platform onboard. However, while this specific model lacked the discrete Optimus switching gear that enables users to easily jump between Intel and Nvidia cards, and by doing so, save some precious battery life on the go, a newer version – the Eee PC 1215 – that does everything the former one did, and even more, is said to support Nvidia’s Optimus feature and let you choose between those two graphics modes. Still with no price or availability dates to share at this point, the latest 1215 netbook also packs a dual-core Atom D510 processor, tucked with a pair of audio jacks, Ethernet, SD card slot, HDMI output, a bigger trackpad surface to flip around, and a nice matte cover lid that will hopefully reject any fingerprints, smudges and other kind of nasty spots. And if that wasn’t enough, check this out – the Taiwanese giant has also added a couple of blue speedy USB 3.0 ports, placed on the right side of the box – Huzzah! A quick video walkthrough is right after the jump.

Update1: Looks like the Eee PC 1215N has just turned official with all the good and powerful things inside. Apparently, it would run a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Atom D525 processor that has no troubles handling NVIDIA’s Ion discrete graphics on that 12-inch 1,366 x 768 display the netbook boasts. PR after the break.

Update2: US debut is scheduled for mid-end of August, with both NVIDIA’s Optimus and Ion 2 graphics components already included and a very competitive “under $500″ price tag to make you want it even more.

ASUS EeePC 1015P and 1015PE Sprout Out Officially, Deliver Up To 13.5 Hours Of Battery Work

It’s all about battery life and longevity these days, especially when it comes to laptops and portable media devices. And Asus, more than anyone else in this industry, seems to understand it pretty well, otherwise, how can you explain these two 10.1-inch netbooks, EeePC 1015P and 1015PE, that recently announced with Pine Trail CPUs inside along with a massive 6-cell 63Wh battery pack delivering up to 13.5 hours of continuous work – now that’s a lot, isn’t it? Besides that, you get the usual components you’d probably expect to find in any other powerful netbooks available in the pond, including two gigs of RAM, 160GB to 320GB capacities to choose from, Windows 7 for the OS, WiFi, Bluetooth, built-in webcam and finally, Atom N450 processors. On that note, you should know that the difference between the two versions is essentially cosmetic. Price and availability are yet to be determined though.

ASUS Eee PC 1218 Breaks Its Secret Cover As a Designing Winner Of The Red Dot

Still out of public reach, Asus design team has unofficially revealed its latest metal-inspired creation, the Eee PC 1218, which apparently won the 2010 Red Dot design award for the slim and light clamshell shape that covers this netbook from bottom to top. From the limited info available at this point, it suppose to have a chiclet keyboard, integrated with a built-in webcam right on front. There’s a VGA connection at the back of Asus next mini laptop, paired with dual 3.5mm audio jacks, HDMI out, Ethernet, SD card reader and three USB slots. Price or availability are yet to be determined, but it sure gives hope when you read that the Eee PC 1218 will also include a one-piece aluminum palm rest to let your arms comfortably lean forward when you type your unconventional post.
