We’ve already heard a few interesting anecdotes about Acer’s 7-inch Iconia Tab tablet device, back in January of 2011, but only now (three months later) has it decided to finally unleash the Honeycomb slate, namely Iconia A100, into the wild and overcrowded market. As far as hardware goes, there are 5MP and 2MP megapixel cameras on board, along with a Tegra 2 processor, 512MB of RAM, WiFi (3G optional), Bluetooth connectivity and 8GB of internal storage capacity which are fairly reasonable but not enough for huge video files to load. In terms of price, the A100 may be considerably cheaper when compared to other devices in the category – only £299.99 (about $485) as it appears on Amazon.co.uk, with April 20th release date in the UK itself and later on all over the world. Good job, Acer.

Update1: And looks like the 7-inch ICONIA A100 tablet is now available for pre-order on Amazon UK with 3G WWAN capabilities attached and Android 3.0 running on board. Prices are at the £400 ($660)  range while shipping is due to May 14.

Asus officially rolls out their latest and greatest Eee Slate EP121 and Eee Pad Transformer for the European market. The two, which are scheduled to start selling before the end of April 2011, are part of a fascinating high-end tablets lineup, and the first to incorporate the new Android Honeycomb / Windows 7 platforms into their budget priced models. And while the Transformer version (the one with the sliding keyboard) is said to go for £379 (16GB) and £429 (32GB), the powerful Core i5-compatible EeePad slate will set you back for a whopping £999 with a 12.1-inch IPS capacitive display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI output, a  2 megapixel front facing camera and a SD/SDHC card reader slot. Still no word on a US  release for these two mobs.

Update1: Oh! What do you want to know? US prices? Looks like we’ve unofficially managed to get ‘em for you, as US retailer Best Buy just posted them online for couple of seconds and then pulled them off. And while details aren’t confirmed yet, we’re looking at a $400 price for the 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet (the Transformer) and another $149 if you really must have the dock. Sounds very attractive, isn’t it?

Update2: And looks like we finally have an official product page for the upcoming Asus Eee Pad Transformer slate, complete with the full software details and a list of hardware specs which apparently include a 10.1-inch IPS 1280 x 800 capacitive touchscreen display (178-degree viewing angles), alongside 1GB of RAM, a Tegra 2 processor, WiFi, GPS, dual camera on front and at the back, surround stereo speakers, SD card reader and a battery pack that is capable of delivering up to 16 hours of continuous work. Software wise, there’s an Honeycomb platform running on board, together with Polaris Office suite application (for spreadsheets, presentations and documents editing), Asus own Waveshare app, a launcher UI and Adobe’s Flash 10.2 support.

It’s probably too early to tell; at this point (pre-production stage) you can only rely on fishy rumors and murky tipsters to share. But as you may know, good news spread around pretty fast these days and someone, close enough to HP manufacturing division, apparently knows that pretty well. So what is it all about, you may ask? A new HP tablet – nothing that you haven’t already heard about, except the acknowledged unit (which was recently emerged in Asia) appears to be a near final 7-inch Zeen C510 Android 2.1 tablet – yes, an ANDROID tablet which is rumored to be part of a $399 printer bundle. And while there’s not much info about the hardware, software wise you get an integrated Email client along with Facebook, 60 Minutes, MSNBC, and Dreamworks apps preloaded as well. Oh, and there’s a printing app too, in case you wondered. Regretfully, it won’t go live solo, just bundled with this new HP PhotoSmart eStation C510 printer, but the price is pretty convenient, isn’t it?

Update1: HP just gone official with its latest Photosmart eStation printer which bundles a 7-inch Android 2.1 tablet inside and features a special customized Yahoo layer on top of the OS. And no, there is no access to Android Market, in case you wondered, no Gmail support and no special dedicated games included. Instead, you are likely to have a slew of Yahoo apps and widgets already preloaded, while Android 2.2 version is said to be released somewhere towards the holiday season. Hardware wise, there is a wifi connection on both machines (printer and tablet) and battery is claimed to deliver four to six continuous hours. Update2: This would be handy if you happen to be one of those Google Android aficionados who actually bought the printer and the slate. Come this weekend, HP’s likely to start rolling out even more improvements to the tablet that will hopefully improve speed, and give you more options with the Android 2.2 update which can be downloaded complete with Flash support through the company’s online channels. Oh snap! what’s this? A 7-inch tablet which runs an Android 2.1 OS with a ridiculously low US$150 price tag? That is exactly what the new Augen slate offers. Still not available on shelves (try next week), this nice sleek Florida-based Android machine packs whatever you might need to operate your day-to-day tasks, for a fairly reasonable price. Naturally you shouldn’t expect much, considering the price, but given the fact you’re going to get a WiFi connection, 2GB of storage, 256MB of RAM, and a 7-inch resistive (and hopefully responsive) touchscreen in return – this deal looks pretty attractive for us, isn’t it?

Apple has just introduced its brand new iPhone 4 at the WWDC 2010 event in San Francisco, CA, with CEO Steve Jobs telling the open-eared crowd “Now, stop me if you’ve already seen this” and adding “This is one of the most beautiful designs you’ve ever seen.” But we’ve already seen it before, due to recent unpleasant leaks, and all that left is for Cupertino to finally make things official.

Basically, the new iPhone 4 is firmly constructed from a stainless steel band, used for structural support and works as dual-antenna, while both front and back are coated with real glass cover. The screen is sized at 3.5-inch, with 960 x 640 points of high resolution (x4 more) and 1:800 contrast ratio – Apple calls it “Retina Display” for its super-sharp display, boasting 326 pixels per inch. The good news is that Apple has apparently added that strong A4 processor it first planted inside the iPad, into the new iPhone. Despite its 9.3mm thick, Apple has somehow managed to stuff up the iPhone 4 with a pretty impressive battery which can literally deliver 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, 40 hours of music, and up to 300 hours of standby – did we say impressive already? Connectivity wise, you get a 802.11n WiFi, paired with Bluetooth and equipped with GPS capabilities.

Beyond that, one of the things that is talked about a great deal  is the FaceTime video calls feature that Apple has finally tossed into the four-gen iPhone, with future plans to make it an open industry standard. In general, there are two different cameras onboard – the rear one, is at 5 megapixel with a backside illuminated sensor, x5 digital zoom, and a LED flash, featuring 720p HD video recording at 30FPS (Portrait or landscape), while the second is a front facing camera that lets you conduct smooth video calls through your iPhone – the suspense – it can only be made over wifi networks at the moment. At that note we should mention Apple’s new iMovie app that gives any iPhone user the opportunity to edit his/her video content without the need to leave your mobile device in favor of your desktop platform. iMovie is said to be available at the App Store right away for a small $4.99 price tag.

As expected, the new phone is going to run on Apple’s latest OS4 (AKA: iPhone OS 4) that includes all the good stuff we’ve already written about, such as folders, multi-tasking, iBook, iAds and more.

Other than that, the iPhone 4 also houses a microSD slot and a a three-axis gyroscope.

The new iPhone will be available in June 24th, both in white and black flavors, running for $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB), with Pre-orders start a week from tomorrow in 5 countries: US, France, Germany, UK, Japan, and 18 more following in July. We have previously reported a rumor about a future Asus Eee Pad devices, and today the rumor starts floating again, apparently becomes official. Basically, there seem to be at least two different models of this coming slate – a 12-inch tablet (AKA: EP121), boasting Intel’s Core 2 Duo CULV processors and running a Windows 7 platform for the OS, that is paired with a 10-hour battery pack, one integrated USB 2.0 hub and built-in webcam, while second version, the EP101TC, is a 10-inch capacitive tablet running Windows Embedded Compact 7 platform for the OS and some sort of a Tegra chipset for graphics handling. Both versions are said to have optional docking cradle for keyboard use with Q1, 2011 as a target release and prices ranged between $399 to $499 at most. Update: Word on the street is that Asus has apparently ditched the idea of having a Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS onboard in favor of Google’s Android platform – either Froyo or Gingerbread (Android 3.0), we still don’t know. As a matter of fact, it appears that the Taiwanese company is currently working on few updated prototypes that should eventually run Mountain View’s operating system onboard, whenever out, next year, at Computex 2011.

We already know that future iPod Touch devices, powered by a two-megapixel camera, are planned to come out later this summer – that’s not a secret anymore – a few of them, marked as “design verification test” versions have previously appeared on eBay auctions, one month before. But given the fact those random prototype photos were too misty and blurry to convince, a concrete evidence, the kind that would eventually make us believe this rumor is real rather than a hoax, was desperately needed. Luckily, the good Vietnamese guys from Tinhte (same guys that got exclusive footage of Apple’s iPhone 4G), somehow miraculously managed to get their hands on Cupertino’s presumable third-gen player,  and were kind enough to fill us in with some of the details, suggesting it would pack up to 64GB of flash storage, paired with that rear 2mp camera, placed right next to an illuminated sensor backside. Regretfully we are unable to officially confirm any of these images at this stage, however, you gotta admit – they look real, especially in that tangible video, right after the break.

Does anyone remember Sony’s revolutionary Vaio P series? It seems to be a forgotten word until lately for some reason. Only now, it finally gets the update it needed but it doesn’t hold a candle to the tablet’s eclectic experience, does it?  Thankfully, the 8-inch netbook (or mini laptop for that matter) we’ve come to know and love, is back with an optical touchpad built to both sides of the screen bezel – pad to the right and mouse buttons to the left – and an integrated accelerometer, to ease your internet surfing mission, as tilt means back and forward in pages while vertical mode makes it a lot more convenient to read your docs. Besides that it’s also expected to include a faster Intel Atom Z560 processor to boost things up, and make it out sometime this June with five new colorful flavors. Prices, regretfully, are yet to be determined while specs and Full PR announcement are just after the break. Stay tuned.

Update1: Turns out that VAIO P entry-level units will run for $799 in the US with Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor inside. Still no clue about other optional packages, but the price is definitely more attractive than expected.

Update2: The guys at ITMedia have already managed to take Sony’s Vaio P next-gen laptops to a comprehensive teardown session that unveiled the existence of Intel’s Silverthorne CPU inside, offered either in Z530 (1.6 GHz), Z550 (2Ghz) or Z560 (2.133 GHz) version, paired with one of three optional SSD capacities (64, 128 and 256GB), and most common connectivity modules, including Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G WWAN and even Wimax. Update4: According to Sony Japan Sony’s Vaio P second-gen can also be used as a wireless “Remote Keyboard” to your PS3 gaming console – neat, isn’t it? Of course it would drain your battery life quickly, but that’s one compromise against so many benefits.

Remember the WePad, a German Linux-based tablet that has literally turned the iPad phenomenon into plural shapes? Well, guess what, it just gone Official and is slated to come out sometime this August, starting at €450 ($610) for the 16GB WiFi version and up to €569 ($775) for the 64GB 3G enabled model. And based on its German creator Neofonie, that held a press conference in Berlin only few hours ago, it’d likely include most parts that your brand new iPad lacks. With specifications reminiscent of a netbook, more than a slate, this sleek 11.6-inch touchscreen device is said to have a Full HD compatibility via Broadcom’s Crystal HD graphics accelerator, along a 1.3mp camera, Intel Atom N450 processor, optional GPS antenna, integrated card reader, built-in stereo speakers, 6 hours battery, and finally, dual USB 2.0 ports. The UI itself works surprisingly smooth, as you may learn from the three downstairs videos, and the well-designed internet browser claimed to boast Adobe’s flash support. The iPhone OS 4.0 event we’ve all been anxiously awaiting, just ended with Apple delivering some striking news to the world. But before getting to those shocking news we just heard, here’s some other details that might be worth considering: As of today Apple sold about 450,000 iPads throughout the States (along 50M iPhone devices), while users have downloaded about 600,000 books and over 3.5 million apps, thus far. The iPhone OS 4 which suppose to get official release this summer, is said to provide more than 1500 new APIs for developers, who can now actually download the fourth SDK Beta package from the iPhone Dev Center, and start shaping their magical crafts.

Moving the focus point over the main buffet, it’s all about the multitasking (Finally!). Yes, you’ve heard that right folks, Apple’s OS 4 is said to include multitasking (…and I’ll repeat myself again: ‘multitasking’). Of course it will work if you have an iPhone 3GS in your bag. Earlier devices, according to Jobs, amongst you’ll find “The iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2nd generation will run “many things”, but they will not get multitasking”.  In that note, Apple says it’d actually provide seven multitasking services including: background audio streaming like Pandora playing music all day long without the need to be stopped, Voice over IP apps like Skype taking calls even when you browse, background GPS and location apps, push and local notifications, task completion like Flickr image uploaded i background, and last but not least, fast app switching – all to be safely activated without the worry of battery draining.

Next in line is the new form of Folders, which aims to organize, and make sense out of the dispersed field of applications. With iPhone OS 4, users are said to be able to drag and drop apps onto one another to create folders, that from now on can hold up to 2160 apps instead of 180 apps you used to see over 11 pages.

Cupertino is also pushing forward today the Unified Inbox function, which gathers multiple email accounts (like MobileMe, Yahoo, Gmail, etc) into one single box, and thus eliminates the need to jump from one window to another. Apple has also enabled in this session the possibility of getting third-party email attachments straight into your phones – Yay, attachments are on!

iBooks gets to the iPhone OS 4 as well, with Apple taking advantage of recent iPad e-book galore.

Gaming Center. Another big news, especially for the gamer geeks between us. With Apple, building a social iPhone gaming network, which basically allows you to challenge your friends, compare achievements, leaderboards, match making  and more. In other words, it’s like the Xbox Live, but for the iPhones.

iAds. Suddenly everything that starts with the letter “i” is an Apple related product, eh? But seriously now, it was Steve Jobs who was quoted saying that free apps “Developers need to find a way to start making their money”… so far so good, but how? Apparently, Apple will sell interactive in-apps mobile ads, that everyone can create, not only ad agencies but also iPhone app developers that will split revenues with Apple (60/40) in exchange for selling and hosting their ads. Apple is said to use HTML 5 format to create those ads – interesting!

Feel you’re running out of patient to get your new lavish iPad device? Already searching for content to fill it with? In that case, prepare to spend big bucks on this track, because according to these Apple iPad App Store screenshots that recently emerged, they won’t come cheap. In fact, only 8 applications out of the leaked images are free, while others will cost from few greenish dollars and up to $49.99(!) when it comes to OmniGraffle – at least there’s more functionality there, and apparently those apps would likely fetch a lot more money for developers rather than iPhone’s apps. Update2: Now it’s official, iPad apps cost a lot more than iPhone and iPod touch apps. According to the good guys at The Consumerist who dug up this issue thoroughly, the price differences between equivalent applications on both devices is ridiculously bigger when you come to get’em for your soon-to-be-available Apple tablet compared to the ones you’d get for the cellphone machine. How big, you’re asking? $4.99 Flight Control HD vs. $0.99 Flight Control or $2.99 Flick Fishing HD against $0.99 Flick Fishing, etc. Overall, you’d have to pay $53 for iPad apps compared to JUST $27 on an iPhone or iPod Touch for the same list exactly. Let’s face it guys, it’s not just the specs we’re after when buying a new netbook/laptop to ourselves these days, it’s about the looks and feeling that matters and in that case, the slimmer the merrier. You know it, LG seems to know it and the new X300 that was recently introduced, proves it well – it’s very thin, only 0.68-inch thick and merely 2.2 pounds weight to be accurate. The keyboard is a chiclet one, again very solid and bouncy, and the trackpad itself has no real clickable keys on it, but duo haptic capacitive keys instead, which makes it more interesting to use. In a bold move LG has placed all connections – amongst you’ll find HDMI out, 2xUSB ports, SD card reader and power – behind the chassis, so you’ll have to bend forward to hook things up. Components wise, we’re satisfied as well, with LG tossing inside a 2GHz Atom Z550 CPU along 11.6-inch 1366×769 display, 64GB or 128GB SSD capacities to pick from, WiFi, Bluetooth and optional 3G connectivity at your choice. Regretfully, prices and availability haven’t been disclosed, but one more image and a quick hands-on video are just after the break.

This is kind of surprising, because Archos, a well known French manufacturer who build top-notch media players as well as tablets and MIDs, has taken a Chinese player (probably a RAmos T8) with what appears to be a very basic and unresponsive 4.3-inch touchscreen display and re-branded it to this Vision A43VB, which boasts 8GB of storage capacity along a microSD expansion slot and a cheap plastic frame. The UI itself is very basic, and not the most co-operative you’d get, while battery on the other hand is quiet reasonable with 30 hours of audio playback. Now it’s official, the tablet everyone’s been waiting for is due out on April 3rd with Apple to start taking non-3G iPad pre-orders a week from now, on March 12th. The official announcement, which was fully added after the break, states that slate fanboys from countries like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK will get the option to shell out their cash and buy one (3G or non-3G model) at the same exact US date of release, in the first week of the fourth month, with prices starting at $499 for a 16GB WiFi enabled iPad, and up to $829 if you’re out for the 64GB with WiFi and 3G flavors. Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs says: “We’re excited for customers to get their hands on this magical and revolutionary product and connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before”, and we say “Bring it on baby!”

Update1: It’s here! Apple’s latest and greatest tablet, AKA iPad, is now available for pre-order. Shipping date is due to April 3, as mentioned, and customers will be limited up to 2 devices each. Happy raid!

Update3: Don’t color us surprise here fellows, we weren’t falling out of our chairs when first heard the iSuppli team, who thoroughly broke down the 16GB iPad components into pieces, decisively claiming a grand total of $259.60 net worth – almost half the price charged by Apple in stores (which stands at $499). Now, it wouldn’t be fair to go and look at things this way, without including R&D plus overhead expenses, would it? In any case, we still think that people should know exactly what they’re paying for, either it’s a $95 screen, or $26.80 for the 1GHz A4 processor.

Details scarce at this point, but a company called Hanvon just rolled out two impressive tablet machines, BC10C and BA10E, both under the suspiciously familiar brand – ‘TouchPad’ (you hear that Apple?!?). And while these two share this nice 10.1-inch capacitive multitouch display and Windows 7 Home Premium on top, there are some slight differences between them that worth to be mentioned and note. Starting with the BA10E model, it runs a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor inside, paired with 1GB of RAM, 120GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3mp camera and a mediocre Intel GMA 500 graphics card. Mind you that specs clearly indicate a Windows XP system while in demo itself the tablet was operating under a touch-friendly Windows 7 OS. The second, BC10C has a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron ULV743 CPU, tucked with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 2mp camera -  which make it more strong. The company says that prices should be somewhere between 500 – 600 Euros, but we still don’t have any confirmation about release dates or any official pre-orders call. We’ve already seen a glimpse from Archos’ 7-inch Android-powered tablet one month ago, but now things turn to be official at CeBIT 2010, with the French debuting their 600MHz ARM 9 Home Tablet machine, aiming the low cost market with attractive and very affordable prices – €149 in Europe and only $179 Stateside. And despite that unconvincing HD friendly resistive touchscreen, we can find a lot of reason for you to buy it. First and foremost, it’s cheap, second, it comes with WiFi so you can easily surf the net without the need for other device, third, it looks great at 12mm thin and weighs only 350g and fourth, it has 2GB of storage capacity inside and a microSD card extension slot. No, it doesn’t include an integrated accelerometer inside so you won;t be able to see your photos in landscape mode or read your favorite eBook vertically, but still, for that pricing level it sure worth a try, especially when it comes to the battery that delivers seven hours of video or 44 hours of audio playback. Update1: And just when things are getting busy within the tablet realm, the Android-powered Archos 7 8GB tablet device appears online in couple of places, available for a pre-order (and as an iPad alternative) for merely €200 ($270) on the German Amazon or at €180 ($240) on Redcoon’s website.

Update2: Looks like the Archos 7 Home Tablet is now finally available to order on Amazon for $199.99, with an official release date – yet to be determined (probably towards the end of April).

Update3: Unfortunately, the Archos 7 won’t be available in the market until early June of this year. That said, according to the French corp, those who pre-ordered the 7-inch, Android 1.6 tablet may get their piece of craft somewhere towards the end of May. Full PR after the break.

Asus has already proved it can go hand-to-hand with tech pace and bring up-to-date laptops that match the latest criteria one by one. And that is probably the reason the company has just released the Eee PC 1201PN, a Pine Trail netbook powered by Nvidia’s ION 2 graphics that suppose to replace the 6 months old 1201N which had the same looks, only with ION’s first chipset edition and a previous Atom N330 CPU version. The new one, which was spotted at the Taiwanese booth in CeBIT, packs a 12.1-inch 1366×768 LED display, along that Atom N450 Pine Trail processor, and NVIDIA’s Ion 2 for the graphics tone. Other than that, the 1201PN offers basic specs like 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connection, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and 6 cell battery with working hours “TBD”. Update: And looks like the 12.1-inch ASUS Eee PC 1201PN, powered by ION 2 chipset, is now available on Amazon for a starting price of $484, which seems pretty impressive if we take into consideration that really amazing lineup, which includes a Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and NVIDIA GeForce 201M for the graphics.

Top-notch navigating systems with 3D maps and live traffic reports are probably some of the things that come to your minds when hearing the name Mio. And while GPS systems have turned to be part of our day-to-day usage, one can argue it would just be enough to satisfy today’s self indulgent clients. I mean, lets be series for a moment, don’t you want the all-in-one package instead of carrying so many gadgets around? Well, someone in MIO has already figured that out, otherwise we’d probably seen yet another nav box hitting our headlines, no? And getting into details, we speak about the company’s latest Moov V780 MID – Entertaining machine that has recently popped out with a 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen and should officially see first lights at CeBIT 2010. It has a strong 600MHz processor tucked with an HDMI output, DVB-T digital TV support, a built-in WiFi and optional WiMAX connection. Furthermore, it’s claimed to include the new Mio Spirit navigation software, but OS wise, you won’t be seeing anything but Windows CE running inside, not to mention an Android 2.0. Price and availability are still to be unveiled, hopefully this coming week, at the Hannover show.

Update: The good guys at jkkmobile have managed to put their hands on MIO’s new V780 MID while at CeBIT, and we’re lucky to have their video up and ready to be watched, right after the break. As you can see, the V780 will presumably offer an optional cradle where users will be able to place the V780 in and do their stuff with a real QUERTY keyboard attached – something we have seen in Lenovo’s U1 Hybrid machine, remember?
