We’re kind of expecting Nvidia to blow away with some new striking cards after AMD-ATI had released the ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 graphic card. Although nothing is official yet, Albatron was kind enough to present the new GeForce 9800 GX2 at CeBIT 2008, so you can get a glimpse without the specs, price or availability, but don’t hold your breath to long, as we hear the launch date is somewhere later this month.

Gigabyte wants a share from the UMPC cake, introducing the new M704, Vista-based, with a 7-inch 1024 x 600 (WXGA) touchscreen, a 1.2GHz VIA Esther ULV C7 processor, and a VX-700 chipset. Sony has announced a new PSP cradle, to be available in Japan in April 24th. The new desirable cradle enables PSP users to output movies or games straight to their TV box and control it directly from their couch with a supplied IR remote. You get the choice to choose between a $46 cradle or a $62 cradle, bundled with A/V cables. It seems the cradle is a must product for PSP users and we welcome the idea, hopefully to be hitting our western shores – soon.

Hauppauge Digital unveils a new portable media player at the CeBIT show in Hannover. The new pMP (no mistake) comes with a 3.5? screen (320×240), SD/MMC slot, USB 2.0 port and an e-book reader. The well-known TV cards manufacturer brings its expertise to the player, adding a “double twin” TV tuner for Vista and Media Center, mobile Freeview TV reception, EPG and text functions. It is compatible with AVI, MPG, VOB, MPEG4, ASP, and DivX XviD 4.0/5.0 video files, MP3, WAV audio files and JPEG image files. Hauppauge claims the 200gm device can run up to 4 hours of video and will be available around April for 150. With a clean metal design, the new pMP might have a great potential, but c’mon Hauppauge, can’t you hire some talented designers? The machine looks like and old rusty transistor.

Hold me, save me, i don’t know what to think anymore, looking at Sony’s latest bronze limited-edition PSP model, to be released in Japan around April. The company will offer a new PSP Lite Value Pack, including a 32MB Duo memory stick and a TV-out cable, along with this slice of rusty-like game console. Only 60,000 pieces will be available, so if you prefer getting the AV digital cable in the bundle, you can get your pack for $230.

After months of speculations, we finally can take a glimpse on the new Meizu M8 mini One. Although it is just an early prototype without any functional features, except the home screen, dialer and media player, we’re able to get a first impression and learn what to expect for. Suspiciously, The M8 looks similar to the iPhone, both from the outside and the inside GUI, it has a TV-output, 3 buttons downside and a touchscreen (not a multi-touch like the iphone’s). The final device will feature a Windows CE 6.0 OS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 3.4″ display (720 x 480), 3MP camera and many more. Meizu says the final hardware is complete and ready to be launched in China, somewhere around August.

Remember the rumors about the 9″ Eee PC? Turns out they were correct, as Asus reveals a 9-inches LCD Eee at the CeBIT show in Hannover. To be more accurate, it’s 8.9-inch but that is only a scrubby difference. The new Eee looks similar to the 7″ model, only it houses 8GB to 12GB storage size, equipped with a larger touchpad and jammed with a bigger picture. The Eee PC is expected to be released in the “middle” of 2008 for 399, and we are looking for more details to be delivered tomorrow at the press event.

The new premium nav-system was first announced 2 months ago, promising 7-inch PMP, integrated with GPS system and TPEG(Transport Protocol Expert Group) service. Creative wants to increase the competition, the company has decided to cut down the prices of the Zen 4GB and 8GB models, in order to place an alternative to the costly players, and when we say “costly” we refer to iPods. The 4GB model is now $99, and the 8GB model drops to $149. That’s an impressive move that might influence other manufacturers to go all the way down with their prices.

Apple releases a new firmware update for the iPhone and the iPod Touch devices. Version 1.1.4 seems to be a “Bug fixer” and not the big and awaited SDK application. It is hard to spot substantial changes, and we barely can find any visible modification, but those who had no patient, report no damages, even with a jailbroaken phones. My advice is to skip this one and wait for the “real deal”. If you can’t hold yourself, you can download the 162.1MB file via iTunes 7.6.1.9.

Tuesday is here and new reports are coming from Cupertino’s direction, as Apple has just updated its online store, coming up with a new MacBook and MacBook Pro lineup, equipped with mighty Penryn CPUs and the famous multi-touch technology, as seen on the new MacBook Air. Other specs include 2.4GHz – 2.6GHz with 200GB or 250GB storage for the pros, and 2.1GHz – 2.4GHz with 120GB – 250GB for the Macbooks. The 17-inch model gets 1,920 x 1,200 pixels with LED backlighting and a powerful NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphic card, up to 512MB GDDR3. The rest seems to resemble to the old models.

Sony has finally learned the new global marketing rules, by deciding to follow the growing trend of third party widgets development for multimedia devices. The company announces, for the first time, a new online platform for all of you, enthusiastic developers, who want to contribute to the Mylo 2 widgets evolvement. Sony plans to give full access to technical data resources, in order to let developers build their own widgets and to expand the Mylo community, worldwide. Yes, you hear it right, the Mac Air can be laser etched with your own personal design. Not sure how many would like to revamp their expensive lappy, but you should know it is possible, as demonstrated by laser master, Phil Torrone, with 1/4 “jacks” underneath the front of the Macbook air to make it level. Looks neat.
Fifth generation 30GB iPod Video owners, who wish to add a Bluetooth connectivity to their players, can easily do so with ipodhackers step-by step tutorial. First thing you have to do is to disassemble the device, then integrate a Bluetooth module into it, remove the hard disk and replace it with a Compact Flash card. The last is needed since the 30GB model is tight to house both the Bluetooth module and the original hard drive. If you are not tech geeks, don’t try to get into this advemture !

This rare DS Lite version is a result of an alliance between the highly esteemed designer, Hiroshi Fujiwara, and Japanese fashion magazine, Honeybee. Unfortunately, it is very very limited and located in Japan only, so you can pray to have one but the odds are really faint.

Microsoft inflames the masses, announcing games for Zune players, through XNA Studio 3.0. Although it is just an early announcement and most details are concealed, we know the games will be designed for both first and second Zune generation, with stress on trackpad capabilities in second-gen models. Zune owners will be able to play with their friends wirelessly, PSP style, though there are no plans for game sharing. XNA platform provides 2D graphics so don’t expect running Doom 3 or GTA IV on your Zune, but releasing a development kit might broaden the number of titles to offer. Korean corporation, Reigncom, has released its new multimedia electronic dictionary lineup, housing 82 different dictionaries in one box. The Dicple D30 features a 4.3-inch LCD screen, SRS WOW HD speakers, T-DMB, FM radio, Micro SD slot, PDF and CSD viewer. There are two main models – The D30C for Chinese learning, and the D30E for educational purposes. Both versions include three storage sizes: 2GB($346), 4GB($367) or 8GB($367$, without DMB tuner), all available in Korea. We can’t be sure they will hit our shores but one thing is certain, those machines resemble to UMPCs, period.

Korean company, MyRacer, introduced their latest portable gaming device, equipped with a 2.4-inch (320 x 240) display and a media player. Personally, i don’t think Sony has to be fearful for its PSP gaming consoles, but the MF101 does support AVI, MP3, WMA, WAV, JPEG and BMP. Additionally, it has 1GB internal flash memory, expandable SD slot and 2 keypads on both sides. The MF101 sports a flash interface and supports Adobe Flash-based games. The device is available in S.Korea for 104$.

Sony unveils the A-series media players lineup with a 2.4-inch LCD display (320 × 240) and a Bluetooth2.0 A2DP connectivity, delivering wireless music to your bluetooth headset/speakers. The new PMPs feature 8GB (NW-A820) or 16GB (NW-A829) storage size, support MP3, AAC, ATRAC Advanced Lossless, DRM WMA, linear PCM audio formats, and MPEG4, AVHC, H.264 video formats. The battery is very strong, providing 36 hours of music and 10 hours of video. Dimensions are 93.9 × 51 x 9.3mm, 59gm. An optional VRC-NW10 dock, enabling scheduled TV/Radio recording, will be available during this year. All players will be equipped with a 13.5mm EX headset and we expect to see them retailed in Japan around March and a month later in Europe. The NW-A820 is priced at $260, the NW-A829 at $353 and the optional cradle at $186. You will be able to choose between black, silver, pink and gold colors.
