Acer’s Android Tablet Gets Demoed on Video

OH! What’s this? Looks like someone has finally managed to put his hands on Acer’s 10.1-inch Android Froyo tablet a lot earlier than expected. While details are still scarce, it appears that the 1GHz dual-core processor machine, which boasts a 1280×800 screen resolution and runs 1080p files stutter free, is having some sort of a new gyro UI that can barely handle preloaded apps for switching between photos, or jumping from one e-reader stuff to another. That said, you’ll have to bare in mind it’s still in a beta stage and that the real thing (which presumably packs Honeycomb OS inside) is likely to run much much better. Hannspree Rolls Out a 10.1-Inch Android 2.2 Tablet With Tegra 2 Chipset

Hannspree is no stranger for us at this website, but frankly it’s not as popular as other established companies you may well know. Nevertheless, you might still find it interesting, especially with that new 10.1-inch multi-touch tablet which the company has recently shown. Basically, for the €399 (about $505) that Hannspree is asking for, you’ll buy yourself a nice and lavish Android 2.2 device, packing a 1,024 x 600 capacitive display with 16GB of internal storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, a built-in accelerometer, HDMI output and one USB host. The 3,500mAh battery is said to deliver up to 8 hours of high-def video playback when this thing comes out somewhere around the end of this year, we’re told.

Creative's ZEN X-Fi2 Devices Get Their First Firmware Update

Just when you were thinking that Creative has abandoned its X-Fi2 users in favor of the Zii EGG ones, the Asian corporation has rolled out a new firmware update, version 1.10.04, that reportedly includes some neat add-ons to Zen devices, but first and foremost fixes some responsive issues that bothered many users for quite some time. Besides that it brings games like Sudoku, new set of colorful icons, accelerometer usability (at last) and plenty items more. Safa's New G3 PMP Packs Both Touchscreen And Accelerometer In One Device

Yes, everyone wants a touchscreen inside their players, and Safa is clearly one of them, as the company officially rolls out the G3 PMP, which includes a 3-inch touchscreen, equipped with an accelerometer, a built-in microphone, an FM tuner, and either 4GB or 8GB of internal storage to choose from. Battery will run you 15 hours of audio playback and 4 hours of video, for most acceptable file formats available in the market. Still no word on a price or availability but South Korean readers will probably be the first to enjoy this one.

Looks like GPS navigation giant, Mio is making its first steps at the overcrowded netbooks market with the new 8.9-inch N890, which packs Intel’s Atom N270 processor, along with a 3.5G module, integrated GPS system, Mio navigation software, an accelerometer for landscape mode (on a netbook?) and a revolutionary MagSafe power connector – all to be available in Q3 of this year for an undetermined price. Raging Thunder, for iphone or iPod Touch devices brings new fascinating gaming experience, allowing drivers to choose a cool sporty car and burn the tracks, controlling it with the built-in gyro accelerometer. This new navigation method marks the next car-control generation, as it replaces the old wheel with new technology structures, enabling on-the-go playable racing games. The OpenGL 3D graphics looks very rich and the game itself works well, though it has some bugs and glitches here and there. The game is available to jailbroken handsets via the Installer.app, so if you look for a nice enjoyable way to pass your time on the train, it might be an adequate solution.
