Acer Aspire One 522 Breaks Cover With AMD Fusion Processor Inside

It looks like Intel’s Atom cpu may be living its final days inside Acer’s new line of netbook devices – At least when it comes to the company’s Aspire One 522, a 10.1-incher that packs a 720p screen display along with an AMD Fusion flavor, or to be more specific, a 1GHz AMD C-50 Ontario APU. That’s right fellows, Acer’s new netbook series is presumably pumped up with AMD’s powerful Fusion processors. Now that’s a breath of fresh air, isn’t it? But don’t you get too excited in here, because it’s not available for purchase Stateside, at least not at the moment, and the rest of the specs are mostly your standard netbook, which means the ordinary webcam, paired with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity, 3 x USB ports, a VGA output, 500GB HDD, a 6-cell battery and an HDMI input. Still interested? Make sure you’re willing to shell out 12,829 baht (or $425) at one of Thai’s popular e-tailers.

Update: And looks like Acer’s latest and greatest Aspire One 522 netbook with AMD Ontario CPU on board just showed up on Amazon for $329.99 that will also buy you Radeon HD 6250 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, HDMI out, Windows 7 Starter OS, and a 4400mAh battery pack. Pretty cool, isn’t it? Well, considering the fact it’s a 10-incher device we shouldn’t expect more. In any case, the shipping shouldn’t take that long.

Acer Aspire One Happy Dual-Booting Netbook Makes a Debut

It seems that Acer is keeping up with its latest trends in exterior designs better than others. And the newest artifact to join the company’s most stylish and flashy laptop exhibition is the 10-incher Aspire Happy “eco-friendly” netbook. Available in Lime Green, Lavender Purple, Candy Pink and Hawaii Blue flavors, this dual booting system which offers both Windows 7 and Android 2.1 platforms preloaded on board, is now being marketed in Europe with Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 GPU, 250GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2GB of RAM and a six cell battery for £249.99 ($397) and not a single dime or penny more. Acer Aspire One D255 Netbook Introduced, Intel’s Latest Dual-Core Atom N550 CPU Included

It wasn’t that long ago when we all read and saw Acer’s revamped netbooks lineup popping out at Computex in the form of the Aspire One D260. And given the fact nothing has changed dramatically since then, the new and recently announced version, Aspire One D255, is not much of a difference. And while most specs seem pretty much the same (1GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive and six-cell battery), the processor itself was slightly upgraded to Intel’s new dual-core Atom N550 CPU, as the external design has apparently received some minor changes around the chassis, leaving both the chrome flavor and glass splitter elements out of the room. Still no word about price and availability at this point, so stay tuned until they arrive.

Update1: And just in case you were curious to learn more about the new D255 netbook, mind you a 6-cell battery device, running both Android and XP flavors inside will cost you NT$11,900 (about $375) when this thing goes live sometime this summer.

Update2: The good guys at NetbookNews have managed to put their hands on one of Acer’s early dual-booting (Android 2.1 and Windows XP) Aspire One D255 versions, and  were kind enough to share their long in-depth video with us, right after the break.

Update3: The latest official and unofficial news indicate that Acer is likely to continue carrying forward its most aggressive pricing strategy by offering its most recent 10.1-inch D255 netbook at no cost – only 329.99 US Dollars. Competitive pricetag, isn’t it? Well, consider the latest and greatest hardware addition which comes in the form of Intel’s Atom N550 dual-core processor, we can definitely say so. Acer Aspire One D260 Netbook Officially Announced, Gets Atom N455 and Optional 3G Capabilities (Update: Now Official)

Acer is refreshing its netbooks lineup, with the introduction of Aspire One D260, which apparently takes some new design cues, and also introduces Intel’s latest Atom N455 1.66GHz processor, along a 200-nit 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display, 2GB of RAM, optional 3G/UMTS quadband connection and GMA 3150 for the graphics. That’s probably the latest greatest piece of craft from Acer, and as you can see it looks really impressive. And while internal OS platform is still unknown, other components include three USB 2.0 ports, VGA and audio outputs, a card reader, 160GB or 250GB storage capacities at your choice, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and 6-cell battery, delivering up to 8 hours of work. Shipping starts this July, price is yet to be obtained. PR after the break.

Update: Looks like acer has finally gotten official with the 10.1-inch D260 netbook that will pack an Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 3-cell battery and will run for $298, while Aspire One 533 will offer the N475 processor, along a 250GB hard drive and a six-cell battery- all priced at $330. Acer Aspire One 532G Introduced, First Netbook To Accommodate Nvidia Ion 2 Graphics

This one has definitely caught us by surprise, but this time we’re more than willing to accept it and many others in that same sphere. The event is the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, the brand, Acer and the product is Aspire One 532G (not to be confused with the 532h although they share the same design), which happens to be world’s first netbook to pack a discrete Nvidia Ion 2 graphics accelerator, which comes paired with a switchable (and less powerful) Intel GMA 3150 GPU which clearly indicates that Acer will most probably be using Nvidia’s new auto switching technology, AKA Optimus, in its coming ultra-portable series. Under the lid it appears to have an up-to-date lineup, including a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor, along with 2GB of RAM, a whopping 320GB hard drive, an HDMI output and a 10-inch HD display – impressive, isn’t it? In any case it is due to go out in March for a non disclosure price. Hands on video and PR blurbs right after the break.

Update1: And looks like Acer kept its promise and despite top-notch specs, prices remain competitive. How much? 379 euros for European heroes and we’re guessing $379 Stateside. Stay tuned.

Update2: Looks like Acer’s 10-inch 532G netbook device, the one that suppose to include Nvidia ION II inside, is no longer in plans (at least for now) due to technical issues with NVIDIA and Acer drivers. Bummer! But we’re still waiting…

Acer's Aspire One AO532h Netbook Officially Announced, Packs Atom N450 Processor And Priced Competitively

Well, well what do we have in here…Looks like Acer just joined the rapidly growing Pine Trail family, with yesterday’s announcement of Aspire One AO532h netbook, which boasts that same Intel Atom N450 processor in a slick 10-inch display body. For the record, we’ve already heard about it only few weeks ago when a list of new Acer machines abruptly emerged from the company’s driver page – but this time it’s official. And looking at the new device, gives you the feeling that Acer has tossed a more updated design inside, although it kept this traditional up-to-date lineup which includes Intel’s GMA 1350 graphics, paired with 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, Windows 7 Starter and a 4,400 mAh 6-cell battery, providing 10 hours of life. Care for price and availability? It would cost ya only $299 when it becomes available in the coming weeks. Aspire One 532 Netbook Shows Up In Acer's Lists, Boasts Pine Trail Processor On Board

A whole  slew of Pine Trail netbooks coming to CES 2010, next month in Vegas – that we already know. But the fact that Acer has sneaked into its lineup lists an ultra-portable machine of that series, is relatively new. The newcomer, Aspire One 532, packs an Atom N450 processor (Pine Trail platform), along 1GB RAM, 5-in-1 card reader, a 10.1-inch 1280 x 720 display, Windows 7 Starter edition, and either 160GB or 250GB HDD capacities to pick at your choice. Price tag remains reasonable and stands at 299 Euros, as you get to choose between Blue, Black, Red or Silver flavors to cover your coat.

Update: Basic specs include a 3-cell battery, but you can upgrade to the 6-cell version for extra cash.

Acer's 11.6-inches Aspire One Netbook Goes Live (Update: Now Aspire One 751)

Despite the fact that everything above 10.2-inches is on the verge of a non-netbook product, Acer officially releases its latest 11.6-inch Aspire One version, coming up with a LED backlit WXGA display, along with the repeatable Intel Atom CPU and some other usual stuff including Bluetooth/802.11 b/g WiFi connections, 160GB HDD, a multi-card reader and a 6 cell 5200mAh battery with up to 8 working hours. Still no word about price or availability so stick around.

Update1: Looks like Acer’s 11.6-inch netbook has finally found its way up to the company’s page as Aspire One 751, packing Intel’s Atom Z520 processor together with up to 2GB of RAM, 1366×768 screen resolution, Bluetooth, WiFi, optional 3G module and 3-cell / 6-cell battery at your choice – all priced at £349 ($518). Still no word about official release, but we expect to see this one on European shelves somewhere in May.

Acer's Aspire One D250 and 531 Netbooks Turn Official In Europe

To be more accurate, those two have just popped up at Acer’s page in Germany, both featuring a 10.1-inch WSVGA display along with Intel’s 945GSE chipset, 160GB HDD, up to 2GB of RAM, WiFi, ethernet, built-in webcam and a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor or 1.68GHz N280 CPU together with WWAN connectivity, in case you’re getting the upgraded version. So what’s the difference between the two? The 531 is only 1-inch thick, which makes it thinner and sleeker than the first one, and while there are no details about a Stateside release, European residents will have to shell out �379 ($502) for the D250 and �399 ($529) for the 531 flavor. Stay tuned.

Update2: The D250 is now available in Japan, featuring the same specs for a staggering price of 49800 Yen (381�). Us release remains unknown at this point.

Update4: Looks like Acer’s Aspire One 531 is finally up in the US in couple of versions, including the AO531h-1791 “Pro”, AO531h-1440 and AO531h-1766, as last two models pack the usual specs, like 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display, 1GB RAM, Atom N270 processor, 160GB hard drive and optional 3G module (for extra $150), while premium versions get 2GB RAM and XP Professional flavor, on top of the basic package – With prices, starting for $450.

Update5: Another D250 version is up officially, as Acer releases the dual boot Windows 7 / Android netbook edition, flavored with a 10.1-inch WSVGA screen, Atom N280 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a six-cell battery and these two operating systems sitting next to each other side-by-side. To get it, you’ll have to pay a reasonable price of $349.99 – not bad at all.

AT&T Officially Announces a 3G Acer Aspire One Package

Those of you, who haven’t got a trendy netbook on their laps yet, this is your moment, as AT&T has announced an attractive 3G package that includes an Acer Aspire One, equipped with an integrated 3G modem, for just $99.99, subjunctive to a two-years broadband contract from AT&T. Mind you, the minimum fee for this kind of package starts at $60 per month, which means additional $1,440 in two years. Therefor, comparing to the $390 Aspire One netbook price, it might sound like a very expensive deal, but for those who use 3G connection on a daily basis, it might be an attractive offer.
