ASUS Eee PC 1215T Netbook Breaks Cover With AMD Neo Processor Inside

At this point you’re probably rather confused as to what netbook, if any, you really need. Generally speaking, it’s not as hard as you might imagine, particularly when most ultra mini laptops are usually packing Intel’s most recent Atom processors (e.g single-core Atom N450, 455, 470, 475 or dual-core Atom N550) along with 1GB of RAM and GMA 3150 card for the graphics. That been said, there are however a few exceptions to this specific rule. One of them is the new Asus Eee PC 1215T netbook which comes with a single core 1.7GHz AMD Athlon K125 processor and offers 2GB of DDR3 memory (instead of the common 1GB) and a 320GB hard drive on board. The 12.1-inch (1366 x 768) system is now being offered on Amazon for merely $436 as potential buyers are likely to get it together with a 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, three USB 2.0 hubs. 0.3MP webcam and Windows 7 Home Premium for the OS platform. ASUS Eee PC 1015, 1016 and 1018 Netbooks are Set and Ready To Go Out This Coming August

Remember ASUS’s next generation Eee PC netbooks lineup which we first saw on CeBIT back in February? Well, turns out they’re already out of “prep” mode and finally ready to make it out to the market. These three models we speak about are the Eee PC 1015, 1016 and 1018, as the first one, the 1015 model – that doesn’t have any price or availability details yet – is said to go live later this year, while the other two, 1016 and 1018 – both coated with a nice sort of a metal brush cover – are rumored to arrive the US market somewhere around August, as the 1018P is going to cost you $429.99, and in exchange will offer a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, along 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and three USB 3.0 ports. The third in the group is the 1016P, which will set you back for $499.99 that will buy you that same Atom N455 processor, this time tucked with 2GB of memory and 320GB of storage. Update: And looks like the 1018p and 1015p models are already up on on Best Buy’s online store and ready for your orders.

ASUS Eee PC 1215 Netbook Breaks Cover Boasting Ion Graphics and Dual USB 3.0 Hubs

The Eee PC 1201PN is a relatively new netbook from Asus sporting the new Intel Atom N450 processor, paired with a 12.1-inch 1366×768 display and Nvidia’s Ion 2 graphics platform onboard. However, while this specific model lacked the discrete Optimus switching gear that enables users to easily jump between Intel and Nvidia cards, and by doing so, save some precious battery life on the go, a newer version – the Eee PC 1215 – that does everything the former one did, and even more, is said to support Nvidia’s Optimus feature and let you choose between those two graphics modes. Still with no price or availability dates to share at this point, the latest 1215 netbook also packs a dual-core Atom D510 processor, tucked with a pair of audio jacks, Ethernet, SD card slot, HDMI output, a bigger trackpad surface to flip around, and a nice matte cover lid that will hopefully reject any fingerprints, smudges and other kind of nasty spots. And if that wasn’t enough, check this out – the Taiwanese giant has also added a couple of blue speedy USB 3.0 ports, placed on the right side of the box – Huzzah! Update1: Looks like the Eee PC 1215N has just turned official with all the good and powerful things inside. Apparently, it would run a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Atom D525 processor that has no troubles handling NVIDIA’s Ion discrete graphics on that 12-inch 1,366 x 768 display the netbook boasts. Update2: US debut is scheduled for mid-end of August, with both NVIDIA’s Optimus and Ion 2 graphics components already included and a very competitive “under $500” price tag to make you want it even more.

ASUS Eee PC 1218 Breaks Its Secret Cover As a Designing Winner Of The Red Dot

Still out of public reach, Asus design team has unofficially revealed its latest metal-inspired creation, the Eee PC 1218, which apparently won the 2010 Red Dot design award for the slim and light clamshell shape that covers this netbook from bottom to top. From the limited info available at this point, it suppose to have a chiclet keyboard, integrated with a built-in webcam right on front. There’s a VGA connection at the back of Asus next mini laptop, paired with dual 3.5mm audio jacks, HDMI out, Ethernet, SD card reader and three USB slots. Price or availability are yet to be determined, but it sure gives hope when you read that the Eee PC 1218 will also include a one-piece aluminum palm rest to let your arms comfortably lean forward when you type your unconventional post.

ASUS Eee PC 1001PX Is Where Carbon-Fiber and Netbooks Come Together

At first glance, the latest Asus Eee PC 1001PX is just the typical Pine Trail netbook machine you all should be expecting, with this wide glossy 10.1-inch display, powered by Intel’s Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, 9 hours of  battery life and Windows 7 Starter edition to handle things around – this ain’t new, we’ve already seen it before, right?  That been said, a closer look at this thin-n-slim Seashell formed laptop  device would likely change your minds. Why, you’re asking? It’s that stunning carbon-fiber coat that tops the cover lid, all the way down, granting the 1001PX a nice premium look, rather than a fingerprints magnet hood that would ridiculously cost ‘ya only $299 (or $20 less in case you’re more into the old fashioned XP style).

ASUS Eee PC 1201PN Gets Nvidia’s ION 2 and Atom N450 Treatment

Asus has already proved it can go hand-to-hand with tech pace and bring up-to-date laptops that match the latest criteria one by one. And that is probably the reason the company has just released the Eee PC 1201PN, a Pine Trail netbook powered by Nvidia’s ION 2 graphics that suppose to replace the 6 months old 1201N which had the same looks, only with ION’s first chipset edition and a previous Atom N330 CPU version. The new one, which was spotted at the Taiwanese booth in CeBIT, packs a 12.1-inch 1366×768 LED display, along that Atom N450 Pine Trail processor, and NVIDIA’s Ion 2 for the graphics tone. Other than that, the 1201PN offers basic specs like 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connection, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and 6 cell battery with working hours “TBD”. Update: And looks like the 12.1-inch ASUS Eee PC 1201PN, powered by ION 2 chipset, is now available on Amazon for a starting price of $484, which seems pretty impressive if we take into consideration that really amazing lineup, which includes a Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and NVIDIA GeForce 201M for the graphics.

Asus Eee PC T101MT Netbook With Swivel-Touchscreen Unveiled

It’s been a while since we’ve last seen a tablet netbook from Asus, but thanks to the FCC division we’re finally getting a chance to see their new and latest swivel-enabled ultra-portable mate, the Eee PC T101MT, which crams a 10.1-inch 1024 x 768 resistive multitouch display along with 160GB or 320GB capacities at your choice, 1.6GHz Atom N450 CPU, Windows 7, up to 2GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 connection, 0.3 mp webcam and a battery that can deliver up to 6.5 hours of work time. Ports list includes a VGA output, SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader, three USB hubs and Ethernet jack, tucked into black or white body flavors. Asus ION-based Eee PC 1201N Netbook Surprisingly Makes Its Way Out In Asia (Update: Now Official Worldwide)

It’s only been three weeks, since our wondering eyes first came across Asus’ 120N Nvidia Ion-based netbook machine, hiding out in a much speculated Eee PC road map slide that popped out in the wild. And here we are, not so long after, talking about it as a certain thing, scheduled for release somewhere this Autumn with a $500 price tag range and a high resolution 12-inch panel (1,366 x 768). And if we’d all be speaking Chinese well, the 250GB hard drive that Asus has stuffed inside, sitting along with 2GB of RAM, Intel Atom N270 processor, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity, probably wouldn’t make us surprised – well, maybe this N270 CPU, which seems to be too slow for such an input. Stay tuned, it should be hitting Western shores, packed with a Windows 7 OS, in a month or so.

Update1: Look, the guys from Eee PC Italia just got their hands on Asus 1201N and 1201HA full specs list and shared them online. Basically, both netbook machines will presumably pack a 12-inch 1366 x 768 displays, while the 1201N, which suppose to be the strongest among the two, will include a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N330 dual core processor, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA ION (GeForce 9400M) graphics chipset and 320GB hard drive, as its entry level sibling, the 1201HA suppose to have a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU, along with Intel US15W / GMA 500 graphics, 2GB RAM and 250GB hard drive. Update2: Apparently, Asus Eee PC 1201N is scheduled to be released in Europe somewhere towards the end of the year (AKA: December), with this Atom Dual Core 330 CPU, Nvidia ION graphics chipset and a 12.1 1,366 x 768 display  – all compiled with a Windows 7 OS. Prices are yet to be determined.

Update3: Looks like the 1201N is up in Italy earlier than expected, offered on sale for 500 Euros – huzzah!

Update4: Now it’s official, as Asus has finally released its ION-based Eee PC 1201N machine, with all those nifty specs and cool features we’ve managed to see earlier, which include that 12.1-inch 1366 x 768 LED-backlit display, together with a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom 330 processor, either 2 or 3GB of RAM and storage capacity at 250 or 320GB HDD at your choice. Furthermore, you get a six-cell battery and Windows 7 Premium edition, already loaded aboard and running on your shelves somewhere around December for only $499. Update5: It seems the Eee PC 1201HA’s debut has finally arrived to the US, as Asus’ second 12.1-inch netbook, which sports a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520, together with 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi, and 6 hours battery, is up on sale on Best Buy, this time for the lower price of $329.99 but with an XP flavor pre-loaded inside. Seven fanboys should be skipping to the 1201N versionto catch up with Redmond’s latest version.

Update6: And, looks like Amazon has the Asus Eee PC 120N listed for pre-order, starting at $499 which will buy you a 12.1-inch display with Intel’s 1.6GHz N330 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM (up to 8GB), 250GB HDD, WiFi, Bluetooth and last but not least, Microsoft’s Windows 7 Premium edition, already loaded into it. For the UK readers out there, this same version, only with an ION-based chipset will show up on your local Amazon somewhere around January 2010, priced at £399 (about $660). Stay tuned.

ASUS Eee PC Roadmap Leaked: 12" Netbooks, Nvidia ION Platform And Tablet PC Devices On The Prep

Assuming these two following roadmap slides, that recently surfaced up on Eeeuser.com, are real, one should expect seeing a lot of intensive activity from Asus direction, in the coming months, as the Taiwanese corp apparently planning to retake over the jammed US netbooks market, by tossing inside some new and advanced mini-laptop devices, hoping to convince all those tech junkie spendthrifts open their empty wallets wide and buy themselves a piece or two. However, with so many cheap and reasonably “specs balanced” alternatives available around, Asus journey, getting to early adopters’ geeky hearts is probably longer and much harder than it may look on the ground. Nevertheless,  according to these latest treasure troves, found in the wild, In Q3 and Q4 of 2009, we’re going to be seeing a brand new 1005HA-P unit, packing a 250GB HDD, paired with Atom N280 processor and offered with optional Windows 7 OS that will set you back for $399, with shipping arrangements, expected to get started somewhere in October. Another “Seashell” like, upgraded version, is the 1005HA-M Atom N270 unit, that runs a Windows 7  Starter Edition flavor and has 250GB HDD storage – all priced at $349. More on that, is the all new 12-inch 1201N Eee PC netbook which will likely include NVIDIA’s latest Ion platform, sitting next to Intel’s Atom N270 processor, 250GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity, set and ready to transfer your relays for $499, sharp when it’s up for release in mid-October. And last but not least are these two models, the 1008HA netbooks that somehow dropped out from the list, and the T91 multi-touch tablet that runs a copy of Windows 7 OS as well, while storage capacity features 32GB SSD and price tag stands at $549. Asus Eee PC 1000HV Netbook To Include Radeon HD3450 Graphics Card

Are you fed up with those endless netbook machines around? Make sure you have enough room for one more version to digest, as Asus recently announced the new Eee PC 1000HV Atom N280 edition, which allegedly includes the ordinary specs we’re all familiar with, but also a strong ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics set, to take care your hefty video duties, such as HD content and gaming treats. Other than AMD’s powerful card (which isn’t that common among this laptop category) this sleeky portable device houses a 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive and a VGA output to hook your new toy into a larger screen. Still no word on price or availability, but we’ll feed you in with the details as soon as they arrive.

Asus' Eee PC 1003HAG Atom Netbook To Include WWAN Support

For any of you Asian friends, who “anxiously” waited for yet another netbook to be released,  Asus is claimed to offer a fresh Eee PC version for Japanese users, starting on May 16th and priced at 69,800 yen ($720). The new 1003HAG will presumably pack the usual stuff, such as 10.1-inch display, Atom N280 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 802.11b/g/n WiFi connection, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and 4.3-hours battery, but also an integrated wireless WAN module that supports NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA network with 7.2Mbps on the downlink. The last, will let you surf the internet from any place, anytime by adding an appropriate 3G sim card inside. However, if that’s not enough to justify the price, Asus will also provide black, white, or pink flavors to choose from.

Asus To Boost Up Eee PC 1002H With Atom N280

Without any roaring announcements, ASUS has just rolled out a new version of the Eee PC 1002HA, featuring the same specs, only with an Atom N280 CPU, instead of the traditional N270. Besides that, the new 1002H (it’s all about the missing “A”) netbook packs a 10-inch LED-backlit display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, a card reader, three USB 2.0 ports and a 1.3MP camera. Regretfully, we have no pricing or availability details, but in terms of design, you’ll be able to purchase this new version either in Black, Pink or Pearl White (our favorite flavor).

Update: Looking at the image, might let us think the new 1002H includes a chiclet keyboard inside (the kind you have in the new VAIO models),  but we can’t be 100% sure about it.

Asus Eee PC 1000HE Gets a Touchscreen Modding Tutorial

Plenty of netbook fanboys refuse to settle with their regular out-of-the-box devices, even if it’s the new Asus Eee PC 1000HE, which comes with a nice chiclet keyboard  and 9 hours battery inside. Instead, they tweak and mod the 10-inch display, turning it into a very useful touchscreen machine, that can easily compete with the upcoming T91 models from Asus itself.

If you consider yourself a tech geek who can handle those cool screen-upgrades, you should take a look at this three-parts tutorial video, featuring a 1000HE display modding, as the original screen turns into a Hoda Technology touchscreen, with all the necessary steps involved. Asus To Launch The Eee PC 1008HA "Shell", a 10-Inch Netbook For The High-End Market

Asus continues with the netbook festival, as the company has just unveiled the Eee PC 1008HA , which is also known as the “Shell”, for its unique rounded design. Although this latest version comes with the usual specs, looking at the externals clearly proves it was designed for the high-end market, thanks to a very slim and curved chasis, housing 3G and WiMAX capabilities, along with the traditional integrated WiFi/Bluetooth connections. Regretfully, we’re unable to share info about pricing or availability at this point, but we promise to update as soon as we hear about any official announcement, so stay tuned.

Update1: Checkout the new Eee Dock app launcher, demonstrated on the 1008HA netbook [after the break].

Update2: According to thelink the 1008HA will have a competitive price, standing at £360 or $524USD. Still no word about availability, at this point.

Update3: We’re hearing unofficial rumors that the 1008HA is expected to make a debut somewhere in May, but still no Asus source to confirm this one.

Update5: ASUS has officially announced the 1008HA Seashell will be available to pre-order in the US from May 18th, priced at $429. Considering the high-end design, together with Intel’s Atom N280 processor running at 1.66GHz and the other specs, which include a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 LED-backlit display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard-drive, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and a 1.3MP webcam, we think it’s a good deal, you should all pay attention to.

Update6: So the new thin Eee PC 1008HA Seashell netbook is finally up for pre-order with a $20 discount, in case you’re one of those early adopters geeks. After rebate, the fancy edition will set you back for $410 USD, as White version is expected to be delivered on May 27th and the Black one, the day after. Asus Eee PC 1000HE Netbook Will Support Longer Working Hours

It’s been a while since we were last hearing from Asus about any new netbook release, but no worries the Taiwanese are here, live and kicking with the Eee PC 1000HE, which is part of the 1000H lineup, only capable of providing up to 9.5 working hours (!), thanks to the high-density battery and Super Hybrid Engine technology that the company has developed. Surprisingly, the official announcement first popped up on ASUS Eee PC Facebook group, suggesting a 10-inch LED backlit display, together with a 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor, 160GB hard-drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi connection and Bluetooth 2.0. Price wise, the new 1000HE model will set you back for $399 in pre-order, but FB group members get an additional $25 discount, which makes the entire deal very affordable. Asus S121 Netbook Looks Like The S101, Only With a 12" Display

When AsusTek first introduced the slim S101 netbook, we were very impressed from the lavish design but not from the expensive price tag. Now the Taiwanese rolls out the S121 version, which keeps the thin high-end shape but adds more size to the screen, as the new model boasts a 12.1-inch 1024 x 600 display, together with a presumed Intel Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0 and 1.3MP camera. The rest of the specs are practically vague, but we do hope for an integrated 3G conection and hybrid SSD/HDD storage combined inside. Price wise, it’s not going to be cheap if you were looking for a bargain.

Update1: Turns out the new Asus S121 comes with an Intel Atom Z520 CPU a giant 512GB SSD drive, which turns it into the world’s first netbook with 512GB capacity. Still no word on price or availability.

Update2: Apparently, the S121 with the 512GB SSD flavor will be yours for a staggering price of $1,649, while the 120GB HDD version will set you back for “just” $899.

ASUS Eee PC 1002HA Netbook Announced

Like you haven’t had enough, Asus has released another netbook model to the overcrowded market. This time, it’s the Eee PC 1002HA, which has the slim and stylish S101 flavor, only with a more reasonable price tag. It is equipped with a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display, the usual Intel Atom 1.6GHz CPU, 160GB hard-drive and 1GB of RAM. In addition, the Eee 1002HA has three USB 2.0 ports, ethernet, VGA output, and SD card slot, all packed in a 1.2kg, across 26.4 x 18.1 x 2.76cm box. As for the downside, the new netbook comes with a miniscule two-cell 4200mAh battery, but the good news are the slashed prices, that stand at $565 (compared to the S101 $700 pricing). Official shipping date remains unclear, although there’s a certitude it won’t be long.

Asus Eee PC S101 High-End Netbook Gets Official

Eee PC S101 high-end netbook was officially announced, and will be available in brown, champagne and graphite hues, together with a 10.2-inch 16:9 LED backlit display, Intel Atom-based 1.6GHz N270 processor (945GME chipset) and only 2.2cm thick. It will be running either Windows XP or Linux, while storing a 4-in-1 card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi 802.11n and up to 64GB SSD. As for pricing, it’s not going to be cheap – $699 for 16GB SSD, Windows XP version or $699 for 32GB SSD with Linux version or $799 for 64GB SSD version with Linux onboard.

Asus keeps raining more and more Eee PC netbook versions, when this time, it’s the Eee PC 900HA, which is pretty similar to its 900A sibling, only with a 160GB hard drive, instead of the 30GB inside the previous model. The rest of the specs stay the same, including a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4-cell battery, Windows XP onboard and the usual 8.9-inch 1,024 x 600 display. Now, generally speaking, we welcome new additions, anytime, anywhere, but c’mon guys, don’t you think this is too confusing. I mean, why launching a new model when all you can do is announcing a new 900A edition. Seriously, the more you release, the more it gets frustrating, and don’t get me wrong, I truly like these netbooks, but it’s really hard to follow, when the same laptop keeps coming, only with a different name, isn’t it? Anyways, it is now available for $349, if you manage tracking them.

Update: looks like our desperate call wasn’t strong enough, since Asus has just released the Eee PC 904HA, with 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 6-cell battery and a 160GB hard drive, adorned with green or red glaring colors and priced at $399.99 (via eeepcnews). Don’t bother to much, it’s exactly the same as the 900HA version, only with an improved battery and different casing. Check the picture after the break.

ASUS Eee PC 900 Series Gets Gold And Blue Flavors

So far, we’ve seen too many Eee PC versions, but only two colors to choose from, including black and white (N10 version not included). However, after squinting around, Asus has realised it needs some diversity, and added two more hues to the casing pool. For the moment, you will be able to snatch a golden 900A or a dark-blue 901A, which suprisingly, resembles the popular Acer Aspire one netbook. As for the other internal specifications, looks like they remain the same, although we can’t have similar confidentiality concerning the prices.

As promised, the new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 makes an official debut right on time, with a $349 starting price, for basic Ubunutu specs, which climbs up to $449 for the XP Edition version, or dramatically drops down to an imperceptible $99 bargain if you buy a Studio 15, XPS M1530 or XPS M1330 machine from Dell, until 6AM September 9th (neat). Although there’s a minor change with the brand’s name, switching from the rumored “Dell Mini Inspiron 910” into the official Dell Inspiron Mini 9, the rest of the details pretty much stay the same, with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processor, an 8.9-inch WSVGA TL screen (1024 x 600), 3-in-1 card reader, 512MB/1024MB DDR2 internal memory, three USB2.0 ports, RJ-45 Ethernet connection, VGA output, a 1.3M built-in webcam, 802.11g Wi-Fi/Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and a flash SSD drive with storage capacities, ranged from 4GB up to 8GB (at the moment). Dell Mini Inspiron 910 Gets More Details, Has Intel Atom Processor And SSD Drive

The rumored Dell Mini Inspiron (AKA: Inspiron 910) gets more details, as the guys at Gizmodo have managed to put their hands on the web documentation, including specs, pricing and some new images. As reported, the new Inspiron 910 features an 8.9-inch WSVGA TL screen (1024 x 600), 3-in-1 card reader, 512MB/1024MB DDR2 internal memory, three USB2.0 ports, RJ-45 Ethernet connection, VGA output, a 1.3M built-in webcam and more. Today, we can be certain it is equipped with an Intel Atom-based 1.6GHz N270 processor with 945GME chipset and runs either Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux OS. In addition, we learn it has a flash SSD drive with storage capacities, ranged from 4GB up to 16GB. Release date is expected to August 22nd with a competitive $299 starting price. Stay tuned, we definitely look forward to see this one in action.

Update: The Wall Street Journal reports that the Dell Inspiron 910 Mini netbook is set to to be released on Thursday the 4th for less than $400.

Korean people have the priviledge to get a new Eee PC limited edition lineup, coming up on August 22nd, in red or green flavors, for the 901and 1000H ultra-mini laptops. Asus Eee PC S101 High-End Mini Laptop Introduced In Taiwan

Asus wants to target the ultra portable high-end laptops market, unofficialy introduces the new EEE PC S101, coming up with a 10.2-inch 16:9 LED backlit display, Intel Atom-based 1.6GHz N270 processor with 945GME chipset and a coffee brown and white flavors. The S101, which suppose to get mass production around September, weights less than 1KG and features only 2.2cm thick measures. Apparently, it will offer 32GB SSD ($699) or 64GB SSD ($899) storage capacities, together with a shiny casing surface, carrying the Eee logo. Stay tuned for more to come.

Another ultra-mini notebook joins the group, as Lenovo officially announces the release of the new IdeaPad S10, coming up Stateside in early October with a Windows XP operating system, Powered by Intel Atom processor, together with a 10-inch LED backlit display (1024 x 600). In addition, the new IdeaPad features an integrated multi-touch touchpad, a built-in 1.3M Camera, 4 in 1card Reader, Bluetooth, wireless 802.11 b/g connection and 3 cell / 6 cell battery, delivering 3 to 6 hours, respectively. Lenovo will be offering the S10 in different configurations, including a 512MB memory with 80GB storage capacity for $399 or a 1GB model with 160GB capacity for $450. You will be able to choose out of red black or white flavors and Lenovo promises to launch a 9-inch version with Linux OS aboard in other countries, later on. Asus Eee PC 901 Gets a New Design And an Intel Atom Processor

As planned, Asus preps to release its own Atom-based Eee PC version and we get a chance to glance at the Eee 901, coming up in June, a month after the Eee 900 was launched in the US and days after the MSI Wind has emerged with the Atom processor. As you can see, it looks a tad different from the first models with the metal sides on the screen hinge, Asus logo is vanished, metal framing around the trackpad and some other buttons and outputs rearrangements.

Update: June 3rd is the date of release and the price is expected to be around $650 for the XP version.

Asus Eee PC 900 is one of the most talkative objects you can hear about on recent weeks, along with the rumored iphone 3G. Although it is not expected to be released with the new Intel Atom processor, the new Eee PC 900 looks very impressive, as the guys at pcmarket arranged a quick video preview of the mini laptop, showing its qualities, compared to the previous Eee PC 701 model.
