8 Apps to Make Moving Abroad Easier

Apps can be a great way to build up your language skills by helping you develop vocabulary, grammar and conversational abilities. Mobile apps can be a real lifesaver when it comes to navigating around your new hometown. Handy alternatives to Google Maps include Waze and Moovit. In addition to knowing your way around, it’s also very important to know how to look out for yourself. iPad 2 To Be Released In Twelve More Countries

The iPad 2 is reported to be selling quite good throughout the States and beyond, but as time goes by and the popularity rise steadily, more and more countries are looking to be part of the overwhelming sales growth. As for that matter, Apple has additionally confirmed a WiFi iPad 2 release in Japan today, April 28, and in 11 more countries tomorrow, including Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and UAE, then in China on May 6. And while local prices are yet to be determined, suggested retail pricing is on par with the US market, at $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for the 32GB model and $699 for the 64GB model. As for the iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G connectivity, prices are matching US MSRPs and said to be at $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB model and $829 for the 64GB model. iPad To Debut in Nine More Countries This Friday

So word from Apple is that the iPad tablet, its latest magical device, will officially go live in nine more countries (other than the US) this coming Friday, July 23. The new places, included in Cupertino’s slate distribution list are the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand and Singapore, as prices are yet to be determined in the following days . Be sure it’s going to be very crowded out there, next to Apple stores, so happy queues wherever you are. PR after the break.

Apple iPad Officially Debuts Around The Globe

Well folks, it’s May 28th,  and you all probably know what it means, don’t you?  For those who still haven’t heard, then it’s a good time to learn that Apple’s iPad is finally getting official internationally. The magical wonder will initially debut in 9 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK (which apparently had their early launch yesterday), while Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore will get their stocks somewhere in July. It was just a matter of time before Apple would start selling the iPad around world, and that day – If nothing unexpected happens – has finally arrived, so get your calenders out and mark May 28th as the international debut. Apple says there will be 9 countries on first round including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK, while Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore will start selling Steve Jobs’ magical device in July. Europe: 16GB WiFi-only €479, 32GB WiFi-only €579, 64GB WiFi-only €679, 16GB WiFi+3G €579, 32GB WiFi+3G €679, 64GB WiFi+3G €779.

iPad International Debut Postponed To May

Oh…what’s this? International tech fans will have to wait one more month for the chance to get their hands on a brand new iPad device, say Apple officials, after surprisingly “strong US demand” with “more than 500,000 tablets sold in the first week” only. In simple words, Cupertino is running out of iPad machines and the rest of the world will have to wait a while in order to get a glimpse of Apple’s technology, right next to their homes. iPhone Is Officialy Heading To Asia And The Pacific

iphone-singtel Singapore telecoms company, SingTel announces a confirmed agreement to distribute the iPhone in Asia and some other pacific countries, together with 3 more associates. The company has plans to bring the handset and sell it “later this year” in Singapore, India (via Bharti Airtel), the Philippines (via Globe Telecom) and Australia (via Optus). No clue whether this would be 3G iphone devices or regular iphone handsets, but one thing is for sure, they will officially get something, sometime this year.

Update: Orange has officially announced that it has secured rights to release the iPhone in Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, and Romania.

iPhone To Land In 10 More Countries

iphone-vodafone After making a huge impact in the US and plenty of noise in countries like Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland and France, the iPhone is about to arrive to 10 more places, including Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey, as Vodafone has signed an exclusive agreement with Apple to distribute the most desired handset to its customers in the aforementioned countries, later this year – Lucky them.
