LaCie LaCinema Rugged Multimedia Hard Drive Announced

LaCie has announced the release of a new multimedia drive lineup, also known as LaCinema Rugged. Designed by Neil Poulton, the new media drive, houses capacities, ranged from 250GB up to 500GB, so you can store all your movies, videos, or photos in one small place and play them on any TV, thanks to the composite / 1080i HDMI outputs inside. Once connected, you get a friendly onscreen interface to handle the content that may include varies codecs support, such as MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI, VOB, IFO, ISO), MPEG-4 (AVI, XviD) video files, or MP3, WMA, AC3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC audio files or JPEG (up to 8 megapixels), GIF, PNG, BMP image files and even subtitle files like SRT, SSA, SUB, SMI. The LaCinema Rugged is compatible with both PAL /NTSC systems and to make things more comfortable, there’s a nice remote control, to let you command the box from your sofa. Regretfully, no word when this thing is going to hit Stateside, but if you’re heading to Europe, you can get the 500GB version for £219 ($357).

IOMEGA ScreenPlay HD Comes With Big Storage But Small Price

It seems like IOMEGA acquisition by EMC bore results, as  the legendary ZIP drive company introduces its latest ScreenPlay HD multimedia drive, coming with video outputs like component, composite and HDMI port. This 500GB storage device can handle almost any format, including WAV, WMA, MPEG-1/2/4, MP3, OGG, AC3, AVI, DivX, XviD and JPEG files. It can upscale your videos to 720p or 1080i HD resolution for maximum picture quality, and lay you back on your sofa, thanks to the nice bundled remote control. To get one of these, just open your wallets and pull out $218, not bad at all.

Simplify Media Will Stream Your iTunes Music Straight To Your iPhone Wirelessly

simplify-media is a cool application that can stream all your music and media, directly to your jailbroken iphone or your iPod Touch player, via the local WiFi network. With this cool software you can listen to your home audio library over the internet wherever you are, browse and play your friends’ songs while they are online, and even invite them to join your private network, right from your very personal device. Simplify allows you to enjoy songs and playlists from remote computers, by installing itself on your Apple device from the multimedia section in the AppTap Installer. You can also download and install Simplify Media for your PC or Mac, and create one from your desktop. When you first log in, Simplify Media builds a list of remote music availabe to you. This takes several minutes, and performance may be sluggist until the full list of songs has been cached. Fujitsu Introduces a 2.5" Laptop Drive With 500GB Storage Size

Storage capacity is the name of the game in the extensive world of multimedia and global data. When movies, songs and tons of pictures are choking our laptops’ drive, we want more. To comply with our growing needs, Fujitsu has created the MHZ2 BT, a new hard drive with half terabyte storage size, that’s 500GB in a 2.5-inch HDD and a 12.5mm height. Mind you, it is not the ordinary size and I’m not sure it will fit your notebook, but it is a positive mark for us. Price details are not available but you should be able to buy one around May.

Reigncom Introduces The Dicple D30 Multimedia Electronic Dictionary

Korean corporation, Reigncom, has released its new multimedia electronic dictionary lineup, housing 82 different dictionaries in one box. The Dicple D30 features a 4.3-inch LCD screen, SRS WOW HD speakers, T-DMB, FM radio, Micro SD slot, PDF and CSD viewer. There are two main models – The D30C for Chinese learning, and the D30E for educational purposes. Both versions include three storage sizes: 2GB($346), 4GB($367) or 8GB($367$, without DMB tuner), all available in Korea. We can’t be sure they will hit our shores but one thing is certain, those machines resemble to UMPCs, period.

Archos 605 – Harry Potter Package

Archos_Warner Following the Archos 605 Charlie Chaplin bundle, Archos signed on a new partnership with Warner Bros Entertainment, to distribute Harry Potter films through its Archos 605 WiFi players. The new package is expected to be available around xmas time.

The Archos 605 Harry Potter limited edition will be equipped with 20GB of storage and the first 4 Harry Potter films:

1. Harry Potter and the School of wizards.

2. Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets.

3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban.

4. Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire.

The fifth Harry Potter film, The Order Of The Phoenix, will be available to download via Archos Content Portal.
