Lionel Messi Posted The Most Popular Instagram Image in History

The popular soccer player’s images from the Argentinian World Cup championship celebrations have garnered more than 70 million likes to date and breaking a new world record in social media.

The story begins with a post featuring a plain white egg that has became the most-liked post on Instagram in January 2019. The post, which was uploaded by the account @world_record_egg, simply showed a photograph of a plain white egg on a solid color background, with the caption “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million).” The post received over 54 million likes, surpassing the previous record held by Kylie Jenner, a reality TV star and social media influencer. The account later revealed that the purpose of the post was to raise awareness about mental health issues, and encouraged followers to visit the account’s website for more information.

Lionel Messi’s successful journey to win the FIFA World Cup ended finally on Sunday, December 18 as his Argentina team was given the honor of lifting the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after defeating France in an extraordinary final with a breathtaking penalty shoot-out victory, bringing in the final to win its third title, at the Lusail Stadium.

To those who are not familiar with soccer, Lionel Messi is a professional soccer player who is widely considered one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He was born in Rosario, Argentina in 1987 and began playing soccer at a young age. Messi joined the youth academy of the Argentine club Newell’s Old Boys and later moved to Barcelona, Spain, where he joined the club’s youth academy. He made his professional debut for Barcelona in 2004 and has played for the team ever since, becoming one of the club’s most successful players.

Throughout his career, Messi has won numerous awards and accolades, including the Ballon d’Or (an award given to the best soccer player in the world) a record six times. He has also been a key player for the Argentine national team, helping them reach the final of the 2014 World Cup and the Copa America on multiple occasions. In addition to his skills on the pitch, Messi is known for his exceptional ball control, dribbling ability, and scoring prowess.

The gifted player who seemed to be extremely happy with the World Cup victory, has also uploaded a post from Monday, showing him in bed asleep with the trophy right next to him. This post has racked up nearly 50 million likes already.
