ASUS Eee PC 1215T Netbook Breaks Cover With AMD Neo Processor Inside

At this point you’re probably rather confused as to what netbook, if any, you really need. Generally speaking, it’s not as hard as you might imagine, particularly when most ultra mini laptops are usually packing Intel’s most recent Atom processors (e.g single-core Atom N450, 455, 470, 475 or dual-core Atom N550) along with 1GB of RAM and GMA 3150 card for the graphics. That been said, there are however a few exceptions to this specific rule. One of them is the new Asus Eee PC 1215T netbook which comes with a single core 1.7GHz AMD Athlon K125 processor and offers 2GB of DDR3 memory (instead of the common 1GB) and a 320GB hard drive on board. The 12.1-inch (1366 x 768) system is now being offered on Amazon for merely $436 as potential buyers are likely to get it together with a 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, three USB 2.0 hubs. 0.3MP webcam and Windows 7 Home Premium for the OS platform. Asus Eee PC 1201K To Get an AMD Geode CPU Flavor

Is that a trend or what? A second Asus AMD-powered netbook announced in a matter of one single week. The latest, called Eee PC 1201K, is said to run an AMD Geode NX 1750 processor paired with a SiS 741GX/966L chipset. Basically it’s a 12.1-inch mini laptop device, housing a 1GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, multi-card reader, an integrated 0.3mp webcam and surprise-surprise – a Windows XP inside, really? anyway, price or availability are yet to be determined.

iTablet Gets Released In The UK, Packs Everything The iPad Doesn’t Have

Now that Apple’s iPad has finally turned official and gone into mass production, it seems just a matter of time until new tablet machines would rise and shine in geeks world and closely watched in months to come. And one UK company that didn’t wait long (’till Apple’s newcomer goes live)  and recently taken wraps off its latest greatest pride, the iTablet, is X2 Computing that offers a 10.2-inch widescreen TFT or 12.1-inch widescreen XGA – both touchscreens at 1024 x 768 resolution – due to start shipping with Windows or Linux OS in April 2010, for an undetermined price. Basically, these iTablets pack most things we wanted to see in Cupertino’s iPad but couldn’t find, like three USB ports, optional HDMI output, 1.3-megapixel webcam, multi-tasking and out-of-the-box integrated flash support. Besides that you suppose to see other included specs like Intel’s 1.6GHz processor, paired with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G connection, white, grey, pink, blue, red, yellow or black flavors and up to 250GB of storage onboard. Stay tuned for more.

Update: Word on the street says that both versions are sized at 35mm thick, which explains the big storage capacity offered, but sounds bulky, in our opinion. This way or another we’ll have to wait and see.

Fusion Garage's 12.1-inch JooJoo Tablet Introduced, Suppose To Replace The Uncompleted Crunchpad

Still clashing off court (and soon probably on court) with TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington about their former mutual Crunchpad adventure, which apparently imploded few days ago, Fusion Garage ostentatiously sends a “business as usual” message to whom it may concern,with its yesterday’s official introduction of the JooJoo ( means “magic”), a 12.1-inch tablet which suppose to be released instead of the Crunchpad and presumably to include a capacitive 12.1-inch touchscreen, bounded by a clean slick frame that hides underneath a 4GB SSD, together with a WiFi, an accelerometer, a 5 hours battery, a video adapter with “enough graphic power to deliver full HD video” and various ports relay on both sides. The 2.4 pounds grayish machine suppose to run a UNIX-based OS that loads up in 9 seconds, while mother company, Fusion, is claimed to start accepting  pre-orders on December 11 – three days from now – carrying a price tag of $499. Update2: The JooJoo is now available for pre-orders at $499, as Fusion Garage adds a $30 dock (the one in the picture) to its accessories lineup. Specs wise, we get to hear it’d probably house either Intel’s Atom Z530 or GMA500 processors, consider that 1080p video support the tablet smoothly plays. Shipping is set to begin “within 8-10 weeks”, although we have our doubts, now that Arrington’s legal action against FusionGarage shifts to Federal court.

Update3: And, as expected, Michael Arrington sues Fusion Garage over the JooJoo-Crunchpad situation, alleging false advertising, breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of business ideas, fraud, and unlawful business practices. Update4: Looks like JooJoo’s shipping will delayed to March 25 due to the tablet’s capacitive screen manufacturing issues. To compensate those who already pre-ordered a piece of this wonder, Fusion Garage will give away that $30 kick stand you see in the picture.

Update5: Apparently, Fusion Garage has finally started to ship JooJoo tablets to happy customers who already pre-ordered one from its website, and suppose to receive the tablet somewhere around March 29th.

Litl 12.1-Inch Webbook Announced, Little Netbook For a Big Price

Think there are too many portable machines out there? Make a room for one brand more – this time from Litl – a Boston-based company, recently unleashed the Webbook “web computer” netbook, that looks somehow different and priced above the average. It comes with a 12.1-inch 1280×800 display, uniquely featuring an upside down flipped patented-pending hinge comprised with an integrated scrolling wheel, right on top (the blue button). In addition, for a whopping $699, you get a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, paired with 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g WiFi connection, USB 2.0 ports and HDMI output, pumping 720p from your family video shots. Storage capacity ridiculously stands at 2GB(!) only, but the platform for itself  – specially designed by Litl – is exclusive, and mainly shaped to serve as a web-optimized OS, with Flickr, Facebook, and Weather Channel widgets, perfectly displayed on the front. A tiny remote control is also included, as long as you pay $19 more, which bring us to our price rates index, that eloquently gives the Webbook a one big EXPENSIVE score.

Update: We’ve added a nice hands-on video from CES 2010, featuring Litl 12.1-inch Webbook in action. It looks great and works pretty well as a secondary device, targeted for multimedia or Web content users, but it won;t make you coffee in the morning, although it might wake you up with this cool animated alarm clock inside. TabletKiosk's 12.1-inch Sahara NetSlate a230T Tablet PC Introduced, a Non-friendly Price Tag Attached

TabletKiosk storms into the tablets market with a new 12.1-inch tablet pc device which apparently boasts the desert-like name, Sahara NetSlate a230T, and seems to have Intel’s Atom N270 processor along with some other cool specs that include either a mandatory 120GB hard drive or the optional SSD flavor, 1GB of RAM (upgradable to 2.0 GB), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Dual-Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, an optional 3G/3.G WWAN Module, and design wise, a sleeky rounded-edges frame, housing two stereo speakers on both sides. Display, as mentioned, sized at 12.1-inch and sports a multi-touch screen experience, in case you’re using the embedded Windows XP OS, although the company will also provide some other alternatives on top of that, like openSUSE Linux version or Microsoft’s Windows Vista OS, which practically grants users a free copy of Windows 7, the moment the platform comes out . At that end, the a230T tablet machine is now listed on TableKiosk’s online shop, ready to be shipped right away – but before getting one, talk with your banker, it’s $1395 for the entry level model.

Coby's New Netbooks Lineup Surfaces Up On Amazon With No Glamor

The moment you were thinking you’ve seen them all, another company has joined the netbooks pond. This time it’s Comby that officially unveils two mini-laptop models which recently showed up on Amazon for pre-order, as the first version, Coby NMPC1220XPBLK, comes with a 12.1-inch display, together with traditional specs, including Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive, while second device, Coby NBPC1022XPBLK, is a 10-inch machine that literally packs the same traits like its elder brother, only for less the price. And speaking about prices, Coby’s new netbook devices will set you back for $423 and $318, respectively. Too bad they’re only being offered in this fugly Gray hues.

Lenovo IdeaPad S12 Is World's First Netbook To Include Nvidia Ion Chipset For Less Than $500

Great news from Lenovo, as the company officially announces the new IdeaPad S12, which is considered to be world’s first Nvidia Ion-powered netbook device and one of the only to join this category with an impressive 12-inch display, that easily can handle HD content and high-end gaming maneuvers , thanks to the staggering 1280×800 screen resolution, we barely can find among Atom-based machines, nowadays. With a next month scheduled release, our true excitement goes to the Ion chipset platform, that crams both Intel’s Atom 1.6 GHz processor and Nvidia 9400m graphics set in one tiny mote that flawlessly accelerates 1080p video decoding tasks and smoothly plays Blu-Ray high-def technology scenes without statering reactions. Update3: Looks like Lenovo IdeaPad S12 is finally up and available for purchase, starting at $499 for the base mode, which packs Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU with 1GB of DDR2 memory VGA / HDMI outputs and all the good specs noted above, but even more important, it has Nvidia’s ION chipset that runs 1080p video playback smoothly. Update4: It seems Lenovo is now offering the IdeaPAd S12 with a VIA Nano ULV 2250 processor and VIA Chrome9 HC3 graphics, optional to the usual Atom/GMA 950 configuration, with a starting price of $450 and 6-cell battery included.

Update5: Save the date,  Nvidia ION-based Lenovo S12 is finally out. The day is Thursday October 22nd, the place is Japan. The specs include a 12-inch 1280 x 800 display, 2GB of RAM, 250GB HDD, an HDMI port and multicard slot expansion. The price, ¥68,800 (about $755). What do we think? Too expensive at this point, but things will change on Western shores.

Update6: Now it’s official, the IdeaPad S12 is finally up on Lenovo’s online shop, listed in different configurations, as the Windows 7 edition runs for $599 and packs a 12.1-inch 1,280 x 800 display, along with a 1.6GHz N270 processor, a 250GB hard drive, a 256MB Nvidia Ion chipset, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 6-cell battery, and that Windows 7 Home Premium edition, pre-installed inside.

Samsung's NC20 Netbook Will Officially Include VIA Nano Platform

while eagerly waiting for the NC20 to be released, Via has confirmed that Samsung’s 12.1-inch netbook will be using its latest Nano platform inside. This announcement comes after various rumors which already stated the same news, but this one gives us the official seal that we’ve all been waiting for. According to Via, the new Samsung NC20 will pack a 12.1? LED WXGA display (1280 x 800), together with a 1.3GHz VIA Nano ULV U2250 processor (800MHz FSB), 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard-drive. Additionally, the NC20 will offer a 1.3 Mega pixels webcam, 10/100 ethernet LAN port, a 3-in-1 memory card reader, WiFi/Bluetooth 2.0+EDR connectivities and a 6-cell battery, providing up to 6.5hrs of continuous work. Still, no word on price or availability, although we do know that a white version is already up for a pre-order in the UK, priced at $565. Checkout the full PR release after the break.
