4 Signs That It’s Time To Upgrade Your CAD Software

In any business that focuses on design as part of a project, CAD software is often very important. Once you have been using the same piece of software for a while, it can be easy to ignore the fact that another package could be better suited to your needs.

The truth is that CAD software in 2019 is very advanced and it is likely that the package that you are using isn’t aiding your design as much as it could be. Here, we are going to look at some of the signs that might indicate that you need to upgrade your CAD software. Keep reading to find out more.

You Have High Scrap Costs

One of the biggest signs that you need to upgrade your CAD software package is the fact that your scrap costs are too high. When you constantly need to scrap projects because of errors in the design, this could be down to the CAD software package that you are using. If this is the case, you might want to invest in a more accurate package that aids your design rather than hinders it.

You Don’t Have 3D Design View

Did you know that the latest CAD software packages offer 3D design? When you can design in 3D, you are more likely to find issues early on and so you can have a more accurate design. A 3D view can be very helpful for many different types of projects so make sure to upgrade your CAD software package if you find that yours doesn’t offer this.

You Have Some Spare Project Cash

If you have some spare cash for your next project, then you might want to use that to upgrade your CAD software package. You might not notice the issues at first, but once you replace your software, you will see that you should have been using the latest version before now. Of course, you can also download CAD software free trials from websites such as Altium. This will give you the chance to try it out and make sure that it is right for your business.

Things Are Taking Longer Than They Should

The final sign that it might be time to upgrade your CAD design software package is that your projects are taking longer than they should. If you find that you are wasting both time and money waiting for your software to respond or save a file, then you need to think about upgrading it. Once you have your upgraded version, you will notice the difference in how long things take.

Final Verdict

In any company, it is advised that you have the latest software to ensure your projects are completed as well as they can. If you use a CAD system, then you should make sure that you are taking advantage of the latest technology that aids design. Replace your CAD software today and you’ll notice the difference in no time at all.

i-Station Z3D Android Tablet is Said To Have 3D Viewing Support

We’re not ruling out the possibility of a 3D tablet device coming out to the most trendy and rapidly burgeoning pond – We really don’t! But the sad thing about this latest 3D technology is that it’s the one technology that is probably incapable of displaying good video quality and showing it properly to the people who are asking to watch – especially when it comes to one of those small and portable media machines, you might wanna own. Having said that, Korea’s i-Station would love to show you its next 7-inch (800×480) Z3D 3D slate box which apparently includes an Android 2.1 platform and enables 3D content viewing along both 802.11b/g WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0 support. It offers either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, paired with a local DMB-TV tuner, FM radio, 5000mAh of battery pack and either piano black or pearl white flavors to pick at your choice. If you’re interested, start counting KRW600,000 or about $500, when this thing comes out in Asia somewhere around November and not a single day before.

iPhone 3GS VS Nexus One, Who Has The Best Video 3D Rates?

Are you eager to replace your old crappy mobile device with a brand new multi-touch compatible smartphone? If you do, and already considered buying either Apple’s iPhone 3GS or Google’s Nexus one, then get this – according to a 3D frame rate video test initiated by the guys at Distinctive Developments, it appears that Cupertino’s iPhone device achieved better results than Mountain View’s latest mobile hit. The test, which included a series of finger pinching gestures, has indicated that iPhone 3GS received an average of 30 frame rates per second, while Nexus one has managed to get only 20-21 rates for that same video segment. The reason for that gap between the two is due to the lack of use of Neon floating-point optimization in the Nexus One. You can see it for yourself right after the break, in hope that someone in Google would take things into consideration and make the essential changes.

Update: It was brought to our attention that Nexus One supports a 800 x 480 screen resolution which is bigger than iPhone’s 480×320. However, in their test DD guys actually changed the Nexus One viewport size to match the iPhone’s 480×320, and by doing that they received a frame-rate improvement from 30fps to 40fps. Still, with 8 characters on screen there was no difference; with the frame-rate remaining the same at 21fps.
