The drop is partly due to China’s economic slowdown, property crisis and regulatory crackdown on tech giants. The richest person in Beijing is Zhang Yiming, the founder of ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok. He is worth $62 billion.

Other cities that rank high on the list of billionaire hotspots are Shanghai (No. 4), London (No. 5), Moscow (No. 6), Mumbai (No. 7), Shenzhen (No. 8), Paris (No. 9) and Delhi and San Francisco (tied at No. 10). These cities are home to diverse industries and sectors, such as technology, finance, real estate, manufacturing, entertainment and philanthropy.

The distribution of billionaires across the world reflects the shifting dynamics of wealth creation and accumulation in the 21st century. Ainol is a well known Chinese player, active in the low-budget tablets market. Frankly speaking, it has never been much of an interest for us, but today it definitely is, as the company announces the world’s first Android 4.0 tablet, or in its most friendly name: Novo7. The 7-inch capacitive touchscreen device which is supposedly based on Ingenic JZ4770 mobile applications processor and powered by a 1GHz XBurst CPU, runs Google’s latest and greatest Ice Cream Sandwich for the OS, and features a Vivante GC860 GPU clocked at 444MHz, along with a VGA front-facing camera plus a rear 2MP, microSD slot expansion (up to 32GB), USB 2.0, an HDMI output, WiFi, built-in G-senor and a battery that can deliver in one single charge 25 hours of video, or about 6-8 hours of continuous video playback work. The price, if you insist on asking, stands at $99 or just above the one hundred mark including shipping. Wouldn’t you get one, now that we’ve told you that? SmartQ T7 and T7-3G Android Based Tablets Introduced

What’s this? Another Android tablets? Yes, and you’re going to see a plenty of them coming out in the next couple of months, plenty. The latest news in this hot and highly evolving category comes from Chinese manufacturer SmartQ, that seems to have two brand new android 2.1 tablets to offer for local merchants. First one in this series is the SmartQ T7, which comes equipped with a fast 720MHz processor, along a 7-inch 800×600 touchscreen display, a WiFi connectivity and 4,700mAh battery – all priced for ¥1,480 (about $220) in Asian markets. The second one, the T7-3G, which boasts pretty much the same impressive components that basic T7 model would offer, adds a cellular connection to its line of features and said to be valued at ¥1,880 (about $280) for the EVDO version and ¥1,980 (about $29o) for the WCDMA style. Both flavors are said to come out later this year, with no hint for western distribution in the foreseeable future, but with nice range of HD video files support.

Aigo’s 7-inch N700 Tablet Announced, Boasts Android 2.1 and Tegra 2 Chipset Inside

Another day another tablet. This time it’s the newly born Aigo N700 (also branded as Compal NAZ-10), a 7-inch 800 x 480 multitouch machine, powered by Google’s Android 2.1 platform running with a powerful 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor inside and priced attractively, at $300 only. This handsome piece of craft plays 1080p videos stater-free thanks to Nvidia’s Tegra 2 graphics chipset planted within its bowels, along an HDMI output to pump vids out or the 4/16/32GB capacities you can choose from, to store things onboard. Other than that, it packs a microSD slot expansion, a USB port, WiFi, optional 3G WWAN connection and what appears to be a nice tiny webcam, built to the the left, on front. No idea whether it would go outside the Chinese boundaries, but it sure looks like a great device that can definitely rock.

Moonse’s 7-Inch E-7001 Tablet Runs Android, Behaves Like an iPad

As we inch closer to everyone’s favorite launching season, here’s yet another “look-like-iPad” tablet that recently emerged in the wild, courtesy of Moonse. It’s Chinese, boasts a 7-inch 800×480 capacitive touchscreen, running Android 1.5 edition on top and components like WiFi, SD card slot (up to 32GB) and one USB port, under the hood. Regretfully it lacks HDMI. The battery is said to survive up to 5 hours of work, while CPU is most likely to be a 600MHz Rockchip RK2808, but might, just might change to the stronger Cortex-A8 processor, moments before the very first edition goes out to the pond, carrying only 0.7 pounds of weight (half the size of an iPad), and priced at ONLY 900 Chinese yuan or $130 in western dough. Window G85HD Touchscreen PMP Released, UI Looks Surprisingly Responsive

As far as we know, the word ‘Windows’ is a Microsoft registered trademark, but that as a fact apparently didn’t stop Shenzen guys from launching Window G85HD PMP to the Asian world – and frankly, we probably wouldn’t be talking about it at all unless the stunning touchscreen it boasts. You may think this is yet another 4.3-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, but the Chinese somehow worked it out to respond flawlessly with the player’s platform – actually one of the best we’ve ever seen, so far. Well maybe it’s this strong Rockchip RK2806 processor inside that makes it smoothly float, but this way or another you can either watch movies on that nice looking screen or pump them out through the 720p video output the G85HD owns. Other than that, just the usual lineup of 8GB or 16GB internal memory store along FM radio tuner, 3.5mm jack, a Chinese-English dictionary, wide range of formats compatibility and a microSD card slot. No word on price at the moment but a quick hands-on video (in Chinese) is few lines under these notes.

Sungworld 7-inch Android MID Boasts a Touchscreen, Craves To Be An iPad

Well, not that we think it would match the iPad by any chance, but those on a hunt for the simple stylish 7-inch touchscreen MID, may find it appropriate. It’s Chinese, comes from Sungworld, packs an ARM926 processor and comes with 2GB of storage, two USB ports and an HDMI output (you hear that Apple?). The body is made of silver and edges are quite rounded. Oh, and it will be available in pink, blue, green, purple or black, but that won’t probably change your mind, now that the iPad is out, will it?

Sheng T108 Brushed Aluminum Netbook Breaks Cover

We wouldn’t bother you with yet another Chinese Atom-based N280 netbook that packs a 10.1-inch display, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, WiFi, 3G WWAN connection, 3-cell battery and a built-in webcam, if it wasn’t for that stunning brushed-metal plate that covers the Sheng T108 netbook, spotted in Shenzhen only few days before. Yes, it looks very similar to HP’s 2133 machine that was first introduced over a year and a half ago, but price wise, it should cost a lot less money, when this thing becomes available across Asian markets.

MSI MT-V887 PMP Introduced, Got HD Video Support To Brag About

MSI is about to enlarge its growing HD PMPs lineup, proudly releasing the MT-V887, which apparently follows the company’s high-def trend, packing a Rockchip RK2728B chipset that can broadcast H.264 and 720p videos, once get pumped on a tele, via composite/component outputs, already built into the chassis. However, those who prefer watching through the integrated 4.3 inch display, will have to settle with merely 480 x 272 screen resolution, which practically downgrades their view quality to usual standards and make it look less sharp, less crisp than they really are. Besides that, for an undetermined price/availability, this Chinese media player will also offer either 4GB or 8GB capacities at your choice, together with a text reader, a multi-language interface, a built-in mic, and slick robust frame, crammed with silver or black colors. Newman A36HD PMP Announced, Tech World Hasn't Changed

Here we are, standing again with Chinese corp Newman, that recently announced its latest A36HD device, which apparently boasts a regular 3-inch display (no touchscreen), along a microSD card slot, 4GB or 8GB capacities to choose from, the regular audio-video lineup and a nice slick silver frame, covering it all from every possible direction. As probably figured from those “HD” initials, marked in its name, this 8mm thick PMP supports 720p videos when pumping them out on your LCD TV, through the integrated TV-output, already been included. Other than that, it packs a usual built in mono speaker, to let you share your music loud, and a 3.5mm Jack in case you want to have some privacy. No price or availability details to be mentioned yet, but be sure they will probably stay relevant for Eastern residents only.

Cube H600HDMI PMP Announced, 5-Inch Display IN, WiFi Connectivity OUT

Chinese company Cube already tossed some HD-compatible media players into the pile. This time it’s no different from others, but design wise, a lot more attractive. Today’s new boy on stake is the H600HDMI, which practically boasts a 5-inch 800 x 480 display on top, with a batch of refreshing specs underneath. Sized only 6.99mm thick, this skinny PMP device can literally handle any viable format you’ve ever tackled with, including 720p/1080i video files via the HDMI hub, along with RMVB, RM, AVI, FLV, MKV, DAT, WMV, MPG, MP4, MOV, PMP, VOB, H.264 (HP) and H.26, while audio range supports MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC and OGG. Regretfully, there’s no WiFi inside to surf the web, but a USB host, an FM tuner, an eBook reader, and 8GB of storage are all bundled onboard, as price goes somewhere around $73, which are approximately 499 yuan in local currency.

iRiver N20 Mp3 Player Surfaces In china

It’s not official yet, but word on Chinese streets says that iRiver is launching the N20 mp3 player these days, coming with either 2GB or 4GB capacities at your choice, along with a four lines greyscale PMOLED display, a built-in FM tuner, 26 x 55.5 x 13mm size dimensions and wide range of formats support – MP3, WMA, APE, WAV, FLAC and OGG audio files included. As said, nothing official from iRiver at this point, but this way or another, we hear you’ll probably have to shell out 649 yuan ($95) or 749 ($110), respectively, to have one.

Update1: Mariah Carey fans, this is your day. A special iRiver N20 edition, preloaded with  Carey’s new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, is just around the South Korean corner. First 5000, you’re on, only $120 out of your pockets, and this LE  DAP is yours. Another image is just after the break. Hurry up!

Update2: Looks like iRiver’s N20 mp3 player, which apparently hasn’t seen Western shores ’till today, now owns a new sibling, the N15, that literally boasts the same tops and looks, only delivers less battery power (12 hours instead of 15) and skips the OGG audio format for no special reason. Flash storage capacities will keep their status at  2GB or 4GB, but price and availability are yet to be determined.

Teclast's T56 PMP Will Pump Your Videos To 1080P Full-HD (Update: Android-based T58 Version Is On The Prep)

Details scarce on specs, Chinese corp Teclast has recently rolled out a new PMP device, which technically sports 5 inches of 800 x 600 screen resolution, on one side, but in practice can output any video file to 1080P, from the other – that, of course, cannot be achieved without the built-in HDMI socket the player boasts. Out of the box, the T56 seems to offer the usual integrated voice recorder, paired with an FM tuner radio support, a USB host, and a card reader slot , all stuffed into a nice solid metal case. Other than that, the company impressively added a  GPS navigating system, to ease your way out wherever you are. Storage capacities haven’t been disclosed , while price and availability are yet to be determined, so stick around to get’em out.

Update: Now it’s said there’s a T58 version on the prep, which presumably includes the Android OS inside, that suppose to run under a dual-core ARM9 RISC processor, with an RK2808 chipset, WiFi, GPS, 1280 x 720 touchscreen, 720p support and common formats compatibility. Still no word on price or availability, but a teasing image is right after the break.

Sinchun UMPC-501 Atom-based Tablet Shows Up In Asia With All Its Charm

Care for yet another tablet pc to run your stuff? Looks like Sinchun Electronics might have something for you, as the Chinese company has just released the 5-inch UMPC-501 A tablet, which apparently boasts a Z510 Intel Atom processor, with a cool removable battery inside and 800 x 480 touchscreen display, placed beneath a 6.3 x 3.75 x .87 inches frame which practically weighs around 350g. Next, we have the SiRF Star III GPS navigation antenna, that seats right next to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections (3G HSPA is optional), with 1G of RAM on the board and storage capacity which gets up to 32GB SSD at your choice. Windows XP Home is expected to operate the entire system when this MID comes up this month for 3000 Yuan ($440).

RAmos Tosses Out The T11 RK 720P Media Player To Asian Markets

If you can’t hold your breath and patiently wait for Microsoft’s Zune HD to make a debut on September 8th, Chinese company, RAmos has a new device, the T11 RK, that will let you play your 720P HD library in a snap, thanks to the Rockchip RK2806 processor, built inside, together with a 5-inch, 800 x 480 display, 720p TV out, 8GB of internal memory (we’d expect a lot more), and the usual FM radio tuner to set you up on the go. Other than that you should expect a wide range of HD files support, like  H.264 HD, DivX, XviD, MPG, and FLV, as you come to pay 699 Yuan (about $100) on your coming Asian trip.

Cube's H200D PMP Brings HDMI Compatibility To Chinese Users

Cube is not a stranger for us, as we’ve already posted about its recent HD-compatible PMPs lineup, not long ago. But having one or two media players is probably not enough for some companies, which explains why Cube has launched another media device, that answers the name H200D and boasts an HDMI output, together with basic formats support and a whole bunch of flavors to choose from. Nothing else to share at this point, although you won’t be able to get this one outside of China, at the moment.

Skytone's Android Netbook Escapade Looks Quirky Feels Fragile

Chinese company Skytone has jumped into the overcrowded scene of “I want to have my own branded netbook”, by introducing its half tablet half netbook device, which packs an ARM-based 533MHz processor and a 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen with those weirdo game keys on the sides, to let you handle Mortal Combat Vs. DC Universe anytime you’d like (We’re just guessing). Furthermore, the new machine houses only 128MB of RAM, that probably won’t hold any of the operating systems we all use, 1GB of storage, that won’t have enough room for all your media files, and an SD card slot that might be joining an optional 3G module inside the unit. Regretfully (or not), the Asian firm deprives us from getting info about availability, but at the same time says it might be selling this alpha-680 Android powered box for merely $100. Hot or Not – it’s your call.

Update1: According to Nixon Wu, Skytone’s co-founder, the new android-powered device is more likely to cost around $250, once it gets released in June.

RAmos Terminator T12 HD PMP Introduced

No, Arnold Schwarzenegger is not involved in this new T12 PMP from RAmos, still, it carries the “Terminator” title, along with a 5-inch 800 x 480 display and a strong Rockchip RK2806 processor, which can easily upscale any Avi/RMVB files to 1280×720 resolution at a full 30fps, or just play H.264 videos, placed inside the 8GB, 16GB or 32GB capacities the player has to offer. Additionally, the 12mm device, that somehow reminds us the Archos 5 media tablet, comes with a small knob wheel (on the right side), so you can handle the menus upside down as fast as a rocket while playing your favorite Depech Mode album on the go – And yes, both  T12 and Depech Mode are expected to go out on live tour (separately) somewhere in May – We do hold a DM ticket but still don’t have any clue about the Terminator’s pricing.

Teclast's M66 PMP To Include 5" Display And 720P Video Support

Chinese company Teclast introduces a new PMP device, which answers the name M66 and packs a 5-inch display, supporting 720p video decoder, together with a wide range of format compatibility (like H.264 MKV, RM / RMVB, or AVI) to handle high-def media. Additionally, the M66 features a Rockchip RK2806 processor, that seems strong enough to play rich content on the go, while UI control is navigated by a group of sensitive buttons, placed under the screen. Onda To Release The VX555HD, Another PMP In The High-Def Dynasty

It looks like Chinese corporation Onda is trying to flood the market with HD players, supporting 720P video quality. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain why on earth the company has just released the VX555HD, only 3 months after the VX535HD has made its first appearance in public. HD compatibility aside, the new PMP packs a 3-inch display, an FM tuner, TV output and wide range of codecs support. Other than that, the people in Onda  promise a low and competitive price tag that will match global recession atmosphere, and while availability is obscure you’ll have to stay tuned to learn more.

Lenovo To Launch The MRT800, a Touchscreen PMP With Just What You Need

Nothing special about the new MRT800 PMP besides the “Lenovo” pedigree. But brand aside, it has a 4.3-inch 480 x 272 TFT LCD with FM tuner, voice recorder, microSD expansion slot and wide range of codecs support, including RMVB, AVI, ASF, MP4, or FLV for video, and MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, or WAV for audio. Owl To Launch The iMpc A10 For UMPC Lovers

If UMPC devices still have a small room in your heart, after been kicked out by those netbook creatures, then Chinese company OWL has a new machine to offer. It is the iMpc A10, which pretends to resemble a pc unit by name (“”I’m a PC”), but turns to be more of a bulky UMPC device with a 5.6-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, a 1.2GHz VIA C7 processor, 16GB SSD drive, 1GB of RAM, a webcam, 802.11b/g wifi connection and battery that can deliver up to 5 working hours – pretty impressive if we have to admit – although 2,999 yuan ($440) can easily fix us with a nice netbook monster.

Gemei Introduces The HD-660 To The Chinese Market

Those who live in the Asian part of the world might be interested to learn that Chinese company Gemei has a new PMP to introduce, coming up somewhere this year with a 4.3-inch 480 x 272 display, 32GB of internal storage and 720P HD quality support. This mid-range player is compatible with most common formats like MP3, WMA, FLAC audio files, RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, MPEG video files and JPG, BMP, or PNG image files, but for a non-disclosure price you also get bundled a TV output cable and a remote control, to let you watch your high-def videos from the couch. Again, no specific release date to share at this point, although it shouldn’t be long until Nicolas Cage and the HD-660 will show up on the shelves.

Meizu M8 Apparently Gets Official In China

The “Never Ending Meizu Story” continues to make splashes around the globe, as we hear that Meizu’s M8 revolutionary/clone smartphone is making a debut in China nowadays, coming up with either 8GB ($348) or 16GB ($421) versions, a 3.4-inch 720 x 480 touchscreen, Windows CE 6.0-powered OS, Built-in 3.2MP Camera and wide range of codecs support, including MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg, FLAC, APE, AMR, MPEG-4, WMV, Divx, Xvid, H.264, or FLV. Battery wise, you can expect getting up to 21.5 hours of Audio and 7 hours of video, while using the M8 as a multimedia device. Otherwise it’s just another cellular unit, supporting WCDMA (3G), GSM EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 standards that will allow any user to speak all over the world. Mind you, according to Meizu, the 16GB model is currently “out of stock”, so stay tuned for more tales to be told.

New Onda VX535HD Will Support High-Def Video Content

Onda makes a major step towards high-definition integration, as the Chinese company has unveiled their latest VX535HD PMP, which includes the new CC1600 ‘HD’ chip that allows playing quality 720P videos on the efficient 4.3-inch 800×480 display. Unfortunately, the media player is lack of wireless connectivity, but instead you get everything you need to handle your multimedia stuff. Meizu M8 Gets The Unboxing Treatment

With so much disinformation floating around, we can’t be sure either these images are real or just a hoax, but you have to admit they look very reliable, with this nice black or white varnished cover and those colorful boxes, laying down next to the Meizu M8 manual and installation CD. But the most interesting thing is the new specs that jump out of the pile, featuring a strong ARM11 800MHz CPU, 3.4-inch 720 x 480 touchscreen, 4GB/8GB/16GB capacities, 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. Lenovo IdeaPad U8 MID Goes Live at The Olympics

The new Lenovo IdeaPad U8 MID makes a debut right on time, as the Beijing Olympic games take place these days and new world records are getting smashed. Official specs include a 4.8-inch touchscreen, Intel Atom Z500 800MHz processor, GPS navigation system, front/rear cameras, 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, EDGE, 3G and even Wimax support (wow!). In addition it has 1GB of RAM, 6GB flash storage and a place for a dongle, to receive China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting signals, in order to watch the Olympics for free, if you happened to be in China, all for the size of 21 x 173 x 84mm and 350 grams. No word on price, but you should expect a smartphone costing, so start saving.

Update: Price is set to be around $730 (4,999 yuan) which is not that cheap, considering you can get a laptop, but sometimes you have to pay for light portability.

Lenovo To Release The New IdeaPad S10 Ultra-Mini Laptop

Another ultra-mini notebook joins the group, as Lenovo officially announces the release of the new IdeaPad S10, coming up Stateside in early October with a Windows XP operating system, Powered by Intel Atom processor, together with a 10-inch LED backlit display (1024 x 600). In addition, the new IdeaPad features an integrated multi-touch touchpad, a built-in 1.3M Camera, 4 in 1card Reader, Bluetooth, wireless 802.11 b/g connection and 3 cell / 6 cell battery, delivering 3 to 6 hours, respectively. Lenovo will be offering the S10 in different configurations, including a 512MB memory with 80GB storage capacity for $399 or a 1GB model with 160GB capacity for $450. You will be able to choose out of red black or white flavors and Lenovo promises to launch a 9-inch version with Linux OS aboard in other countries, later on. Sony Announces The Release Of The PMX-M89 PMP For The Chinese Market

Sony has introduced its latest PMX-M89 PMP, designed exclusively for the Chinese market and equipped with a 4.3-inch wide screen (480 x 272), an FM tuner, a microphone, 9EQ, a memory card slot and 16GB of storage capacity. It is sized at 116.9 x 74 x 12.7 mm and has a Map Browser which is a sort of an A-GPS application to navigate your way, wherever you are. Format support is reasonable, with MP3, WMA, AAC audio files, AVi, MP4, MPEG-4 video files and JPEG compatibility for image files. Available in black and white, the player will play 6 hours of video or 18 hours of audio , so if Sony is a brand you like and China is your next destination, $330 and the player is yours.

Chinese company Tsinghua Tongfang has announced the release of the new PMC-M880 PMP, coming with a wide 3.0-inch 260k colors screen (420 x 240), 4GB of internal flash storage, an FM tuner, a microphone, 10 EQ, and TV output that runs 720 X 576 resolution. It is compatible with RM, RMVB, FLV, AVI, DivX, XviD, APE, FLAC, WMA, MP3, JPEG, TXT file formats and supports Microsoft’s PlayFX. Wooden trend doesn’t skip the iPhone handset, as Wanxinda Enterprise Group has introduced a new lineup of skin cases for the iPhone and the iPod Touch devices, including a nice woody case that would greatly protect your unit with its stiff cover. The new sleeky timber coat is pierced in the right places so you won’t need to remove the skin in order to use the buttons. As for price or availability, it’s still hard to determine, since the product was just introduced at China Sourcing Fairs 2008, but we do hope it will arrive Stateside, shortly.

MeLE Introduces a New PMP Lineup: PMC-200 And PMC-600

Chinese corporation MeLE has announced the release of two new PMPs, on China Sourcing Fairs at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. The first one is the PMC-200, which MeLE defines as a “low cost” PMP, coming with a 3.5-inch TFT LCD screen (320 x 240), huge storage capacity, ranged from 80GB to 160GB, a PVR function to record high quality video from your TV or any other source, with resolution up to 720×480 @30fps or 720×576 @25fps. Measures are 142.5x81x20 – 290g.

The second one is the PMC-600, which MeLE defines as a “Luxury” PMP, coming with a wide 4.3-inch LCD screen (480 x 272), huge 160GB storage capacity, SD/MMC/MS card reader, HD output (scale up tp 720P/1080i) and USB 2.0 interface. It is compatible with MPEG 1/2/4, XVID (720×480 @30fps), AVI, MPG file formats and sized at 153 x 79 x 23 – 360g. No word on price or availability for both players.

Ramos unveils the new V8 PMP, coming with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a nice black sleeky design. It is equipped with a special motion sensor that detects screen rotation (like the one in the iPod Touch) and adjusts the image respectively.
