PeeWee's Pivot Tablet Netbook Will Hold Against Your Kid's Attacks

Hey boys, hey girls, the moment your parents might started to think that netbooks are out of your reach, is exactly the time to prove them wrong, as PeeWee PC has just released a 1.6GHz Atom N270 tablet device, designed for elementary pupils around age ten who share passion for technology and seek for a 10-inch unit with 1GB of RAM, 60GB HDD, 1.3 megapixel camera, WiFi, Windows XP Home Edition and a 6-cell battery, which is also strong enough to handle their spill-and drop activities that under any circumstances reduce laptop’s lifespan in seconds, and while the easy part in your persuasion plot is telling them this machine includes a proprietary security suite, together with a batch of kids’ games and software, lets see how it goes once your parents hear they have to shell out $599.99 to get you this one. Skytone's Android Netbook Escapade Looks Quirky Feels Fragile

Chinese company Skytone has jumped into the overcrowded scene of “I want to have my own branded netbook”, by introducing its half tablet half netbook device, which packs an ARM-based 533MHz processor and a 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen with those weirdo game keys on the sides, to let you handle Mortal Combat Vs. DC Universe anytime you’d like (We’re just guessing). Furthermore, the new machine houses only 128MB of RAM, that probably won’t hold any of the operating systems we all use, 1GB of storage, that won’t have enough room for all your media files, and an SD card slot that might be joining an optional 3G module inside the unit. Regretfully (or not), the Asian firm deprives us from getting info about availability, but at the same time says it might be selling this alpha-680 Android powered box for merely $100. Hot or Not – it’s your call.

Update1: According to Nixon Wu, Skytone’s co-founder, the new android-powered device is more likely to cost around $250, once it gets released in June.

First Crunchpad Tablet PC Images Go Live

First, we’d like to send our regards and appreciation to Michael Arrington from TechCrunch for turning this $200 Crunchpad Tablet PC project – viable, with a great dedication and a true desire to assist the tech scene by releasing a low price tablet device for internet purposes mainly, but for other uses as well, thanks to the 12-inch touchscreen, built-in speakers, integrated camera / microphone and some other goodies that are still hidden. Although the upcoming machine will probably cost a bit higher than expected (around $299), it sure looks awesome and we do hope to have our hands on it, once this project is finished. Meanwhile, you’ll have to settle with the new images that popped out in the wild.

Update: While still waiting for Crunchpad devices to go live, Seesmic’s general manager, Loic Lemeur, was sniffing around TechCrunch offices, giving the unboxing treatment to a first and nearly finalized prototype of the tablet, which suppose to be available hopefully “this year”. Update3: Singapore newspaper, The Straits Times, says that Arrington’s Crunchpad tablet is expected to be out by November of this year, including a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, together with 1GB of RAM, a USB hub, a built-in WiFi, 3G connectivity and and a SIM slot – priced around $400. Stay tuned for the official announcement.

Update4: Looks like Arringtone’s Crunchpad  won’t make it out eventually, due to major disputes with Fusion Garage (Arrington’s main partner on the project), that wanted to cut TechCrunch out of the project and continue with it on their own. This highly anticipated tablet machine was actually suppose to go out on November 20th of this year, but will probably end up in court with “multiple lawsuits” about to be filed from both sides. Either it’s the definitive end or just a milestone in Arringtone’s pretentious project, time would tell. Meanwhile, you can read the full story right here.

Asus Eee PC T91GO Is The Same Tablet Netbook, Only With 3G Capabilities

Remember the Eee PC T91 tablet netbook that showed up at the CES show back in January? Turns out Asus has even a newer version, which was recently introduced in Cebit and answers the name T91GO. This latest tablet device sports a slim and impressive design, together with an 8.9-inch swivel touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, 16GB SSD and Atom Z520 processor. But one thing that distinguish the T91GO from its older version is the integrated quadband 3G HSPA modem that lets you hook up to the internet from any place you want, without the need to be around hotspots. Other than that, you get the same WiFi / Bluetooth connections, battery that can provide up to 5hrs time and Windows XP, combined with a designated Eee PC Touch UI. Gigabyte To Launch The M1022, S1024 And T1028 Netbooks at Cebit

Gigabyte unveils three new netbook models, to be officially introduced at CeBIT this week. The new line includes the “Booktop” M1022 version, which boasts a special dock that houses various essential outputs, together with the ability to vertically place your lappy on the desktop. Additionally you get a 10.1-inch display, 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 160GB HDD, 2GB of RAM, 6-cell battery and Windows XP onboard. The T1028 on the other hand, is a tablet netbook, packing the same specs as the M1022, only with the new N280 Atom CPU and the revolutionary GN40 chipset that aims to be the “next thing” within the netbooks world. The third, out of the three, is the ThinNote S1024 model which looks like a basic version, sporting the usual specs we’re all familiar with. Naturally, there’s no word on price or availability yet, but you can hit the link below for further details.

Update1: Gigabyte has officially uploaded specs and info about the new coming ThinNote S1024 and M1022 devices, so feel free to jump over and get your impression.

Update2: The guys at UMPCPortal have managed to put their hands on the T1028 Touchnote tablet netbook, which comes with an integrated 3G module inside. Check out the unboxing video after the break.

Asus EEE PC T91 And T101H Tablet Netbooks Introduced, Boast a Swiveling Touchscreen

Asus keeps showing us it has a lot of stuff to be proud of, as the company unveils the T91 and the T101H tablet netbooks at the CES 2009 show in Vegas. Both devices come with a swiveling touchscreen, allowing them to be used as tablet computers, as the T91 packs an 8.9-inch display while the T101H has a 10-inch screen. Both feature Z520 Intel atom processors, together with a built-in GPS navigation system and even a TV tuner, which is a little suprising and preliminary withing netbooks. Regretfully, there are no further details, concerning other specs, availability or pricing.

Update2: Looks like Asus’ Eee PC T91 has been officially confirmed to have a first UK debut somewhere around early June, priced at £450 ($685). Still no word about a US release, but we’re following the announcements very carefully.

Update3: Apparently, these to are expected to launch by the end of August in the UK.
