Gateway LT1004U Netbook Appears On Office Depot Shelves

It was just a matter of time until Gateway would join the netbooks pile, and today we’re glad to get a confirmation it already did, as a blackish 8.9-inch netbook, carrying the industrial name of LT1004U, was spotted on Office Depot in Redmond, WA with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows XP onboard and an Aspire One rebadge design. Speaking factually, it’s just another usual netbook, the kind we’ve already seen around, but there is something alluring about Gateway’s new toy after all, knowing it cost only $379.99, which clearly stretch the lower pricing borders of these devices. In any case, you can always jump to your local branch to get first-hand impression.

A laptop may still be better for the average consumer but you dont know how
valuable a netbook size is for a college student. I would love to carry a 9 inch
netbook than my 14′ laptop. But still for me they still have not reach the battery life/price
    sweet spot yet.
