Archos 8 Home Tablet Gets the Hands On Video Treatment

We’re not sure what exactly the new Archos 8 is…whether it’s a portable tablet to take on the go (like the Archos 5 and Archos 7) or maybe more appropriately, a digital photo frame that most people would probably put on a table – one thing’s for sure, it has a bezel, lots of bezel. And while most details are still scarce at this point, the guys at Archos Lounge have managed to obtain one, unbox it and take a few camera shots (starting at the 11:20 mark). From their voices we’re guessing this nice cool gadget runs an Android 1.5 platform inside (without the marketplace support), tucked with an 8-inch 800×600 resistive touchscreen, battery pack that can deliver up to 40 hours of music and 7 hours of video playback, WiFi, landscape browsing capabilities, and a slew of port connections (like SD card slot and USB hub), placed right on the top. Count 149 Euros for it as you watch the video half past the break.
