Apple Watch To Be Available For In-Store Purchase In Late June

Apple-Watch-stand

When the Apple Watch first gone on sale worldwide, it was only available to buy online. It’s true that potential customers could make appointments to try on the smartwatch at Apple Stores nearby, but the actual purchasing procedure was basically online.

Now the Cupertino giant announces that its legendary piece of wearable watch is finally set to arrive at retail. The official declaration is taking place about two months after the watch has been released online and the company is finally ready to begin selling some variants of the Apple Watch starting in two weeks from now.

Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of operations, says that “all orders placed through May, with the sole exception of Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will ship to customers within two weeks. At that time, we’ll also begin selling some models in our Apple Retail Stores.” And adds that the company is “making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders”

In addition to that, the Apple Watch is coming to seven more countries around the world, including Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan at the end of June. The watch will be offered both in Apple stores and online. Moreover, the company will also be spreading the smartwatch love via high-end fashion boutique retailers in places like Milan, Seoul and Singapore.

iPhone 6: Apple Fans Start Queuing Outside The Stores

apple-store-NY

It’s Apple’s iPhone day, and long queues already forming outside the company’s global retail stores in anticipation of the launch of the iPhone 6 and iphone 6 Plus at 8am this Friday. It is only natural that people would be interested in the new phones coming from Apple, after the positive reviews the devices had received and the pre-orders record of roughly 4 million phones.

On this morning of the iPhone 6 launch we are able to see huge queues of people waiting in line to get the chance of purchasing a limited stock of Apple’s latest iteration of 4.7″ and 5.5″ smartphones. The Apple Stores around the world all have queues, loads of queues.

The iPhone 6 comes in silver, gold and ‘space grey’ flavors and features an A8 chip, a Touch ID fingerprint identity sensor, iOS 8, and an iSight camera with a larger and faster 8MP sensor.

iPad 2 Lines are Popping Up all Over The US

OK, so It’s Apple’s iPad 2 first day of sales over there, in famous Uncle Sam’s land, with downtown stores opening their doors somewhere at sunset, roughly 5:00 PM, as brave people start gathering around, while average (solid) queues length varies from small town to big city. Although, this definitely isn’t the crazy scenes we’ve seen in iPad’s first-gen / iPhone 4 debuts, back in 2010, there’s still quite a bit of potential there, assuming those queues are only going to grow bigger and longer. We’ve been busy gathering for you a few examples of images, taken by random Twitter users. More pictures after he break.

Reminder: Appe’s iPad 2 will launch in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK on March 25.

Update 1: We’ve just added a couple of videos from The Cube in New York, Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, WA, and another one from the Walden Galleria . Check ’em out after the break.

Update 2: We’ve also added a few unboxing videos after the break.

Apple Says Over 300,000 iPads Sold On Launch Day (Update: 1,000,000 In First Month)

Whether you do agree with Steve Jobs saying his new tablet machine – The iPad – is “magical” and “revolutionary” or whether you don’t, one thing’s for sure, you can’t argue with numbers – and the numbers, according to Apple itself, are pretty impressive. Apparently, over 300,000 iPads were sold in the US on launch day alone, on April 3rd that is, including both retail sales (Best Buy and Apple Stores)  and pre-ordered deliveries to customers across the States – that’s 30,000 more, compared to iPhone’s 270,000 pieces that Cupertino sold (in first 30 hours). In addition, Apple says that iPad users already downloaded over a million apps from its App Store and over 250,000 e-books were downloaded as well from Apple’s iBook store during first day of launch – that’s an average of…”more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad”, says Jobs himself. Can they hold up with those numbers? Time would tell.

Meanwhile, make sure you check out our long list of Free Cool iPad Games.

Update: Now we learn that Apple has sold one million ipads over the past 28 days of existence, with 1.5 million ebooks already been downloaded, joining the 12 million apps that users have snagged. Full PR after the break.

Apple To Start Selling Unlocked iPhones In the US

Big news for all of you Apple fanboys out there, as we now get to hear across the blogsphere that Apple is finally about to offer unlocked iphones – yes, you’ve heard that right, free, open, no contract attached – you name it. The list of iPhone devices that people will be able to pick up immediately and pay-to-go includes the $499 3G model, $599 16GB 3GS or $699 32GB 3GS, at your choice, courtesy of Mountain View, California and the latest greatest Nexus One (competition, you know). Stay tuned for more to come.

Update1: The guys at Gizmodo have managed to get the official internal doc that confirms the rumors. Check it out after the break.

Update2: Reports are very confusing. Apparently, there wasn’t enough reason to party at this point and the bottom line is that iPhone devices are still locked to AT&T when you buy them in the US. Bummer!

Apple To Significantly Cut Prices Of iPod Touch, Nano And Classic PMPs (Update: iPod Touch 3G Included)

With one more hour to go before announcing some new players, Apple is now reported to quietly slash down iPod Touch, Nano and Classic iPod prices on Cupertino’s on-line store, as follows:  iPod Touch – Apparently, the 8GB model is now priced at $189 (instead of $229), while 16GB version now stands at $249 (instead of $299), and the 32GB flavor is merely $279 (was $399 before). iPod Nano – The 8GB model will now set you back for $129 (instead of $149), as the 16GB Nano is now offered for only $149 (instead of previous $199). iPod Classic – Gets the competitive price of $229 instead of $249.

Update1: Turns out a new whopping 64GB iPod Touch version is now up and available for $399.

Update2: Looks like the $249 iPod Classic player is now being offered in 160GB storage. That’s extra 40GB to its predecessor.

Update3: So it seems a new iPod Touch 3G is out after all, but regretfully without a camera inside. Prices remain the same but the UI looks a little snappier than previous gen. Surprisingly, the guys at iFixit have managed to find a potential spot for a video camera, that Apple has probably allocated in the top of the device. That said, Steve Jobs already made it clear that Apple won’t integrate any footage features at this point. Stay tuned.

Update4: The guys at engadget have thrown themselves all over the “new” iPod Touch 3G, moments before it goes live. Hit the jump to take a look.
