Acer To Release The Iconia Tab A110 Stateside On October 30

Acer has officially announced it will release its latest 7-inch Iconia Tab A110 tablet in the US at the end of October. Powered by Android Jelly Bean OS, the A110 is expected to hit the already-crowded “mini-tablet” market, priced at $230 for the 8GB version – which isn’t as cheap as the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire – and equipped with Nvidia’s powerful Tegra 3 Quad Core CPU under the lid, along with a microSD slot expansion, 1GB of RAM, a camera, Bluetooth 3.0 and micro-HDMI to connect the slate to your flat HD TV. Samsung ATIV Tab Windows RT Tablet Revealed

At IFA 2012, we were expecting an explosion of new Windows 8 tablets, and the show certainly didn’t disappoint. Samsung ‘s 10.1-inch ATIV Tab is probably the latest newcomer in that scene. It offers a 1.5GHz dual-core processor under the lid, paired with a 1,366 x 768 display, 2GB of RAM, your choice of either 32GB or 64GB of storage capacities, internal Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0. The 20.1 ounces slab you are watching straight down, at the picture below, will run the Windows RT operating system onboard, while the chosen battery pack is the 8,200mAh. In addition, the slate is equipped with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.9MP front-facing shooter, as well as a standard USB 2.0 port, a micro-HDMI and near-field communication (NFC) support. No word on price/availability yet. Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 To Make Official Stateside Debut In June

Lenovo has already made the leap into the Ice Cream Sandwich Android tablets market by launching the 9.7-inch IdeaTab S2109 slate couple of months ago, and now it appears the Chinese corp is making moves Stateside, offering the 8.9mm slab with 1024 x 768 IPS panel, dual-core, 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, four speakers, micro USB/HDMI extensions for only $349 through Lenovo’s online hub and Office Depot’s retail division. Let’s see if the price is attractive enough, as it is a really tempting light.

Dell Latitude 10 Tablet Spotted Running Windows 8

We all know that tech world is changing directions every year or so. But what about Dell? Do they plan on switching to another OS? It’s hard to tell at the moment, but according to a document obtained by the good guys over at NeoWin, the US-based computers giant is seriously considering a Windows 8 tablet. Whether it’s true or not, we’re looking at a Dell Latitude 10 running Microsoft’s latest and greatest platform on board. The slate is listed with a 10.1-inch 1366×769 touchscreen, and said to include Intel’s dual-core Atom processor under the hood. In addition, it will be offering a fingerprint reader, paired with 2GB of RAM, and up to 128GB SSD in storage capacity. You’ll get to choose between a smaller battery that delivers between six to eight hours, or a bigger one with an estimated 12 hours of  working life. No announced price or availability yet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Officially Live In The US

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has now officially launched Stateside. Announced back in February, at MWC Barcelona, Samsung’s latest tablet device offers a plethora of good features and hardware, including a 1Ghz dual-core processor,  Bluetooth 3.0, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.0, two cameras – rear and front, plus a big display, supporting 1280 x 800 screen resolution on top. The South Korean officials say it’ll be sold through Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct and some other various channels, while the price tag of a 16GB wifi-only version is $400, which is quite steep for this kind of slate, especially when there are other strong options, available on the market. But the only way to decide what’s best for you is to do the math on your own. ASUS Transformer Prime To Get a GPS Add-On Fix

The Wall Street Journal reports that Taiwanese Corp. Asus has officially confirmed that it plans to begin the roll-out of a special kit in order to fix, once and for all, those GPS issues that’ve recently plagued its most powerful Transformer Prime tablet. According to a Friday announcement from Asus, the company will soon offer Transformer Prime users to register online their personal slates (on a dedicated members site) and secure themselves an external dongle that “may help improve signal reception and optimize the user experience.” In that regard, the GPS Extension Kit is scheduled to be released somewhere around mid-April of this year, and will be given away to all customers as a free hardware solution. Not bad Asus, not bad at all.

Update1: Looks like Asus has officially opened up doors to Prime users from across the world, to register their “Pads” and have the dongle shipped over. And while there’s no exact date on when this GPS add-on will be delivered, the offer will expire on July 31st.

ASUS Eee Memo Pad Unofficially Leaked (Update: Now Official)

CES is always a good time to prepare a roll-out strategy for brand new products around the world. And while there’s no official word from Asus yet, we hear that the company plans to launch its own 7-inch Eee Memo Pad tablet, at the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow which will take place in Vegas from January 10th to January 13th, 2012. A firm release date has not been set, but judging from a recent leak, we do know it  will be available with a 1,280 x 800 capacitive touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, WiFi, 3G connectivity and 16, 32 or 64GB of storage capacities at your choice. The full details are yet to be disclosed, and all that’s left is for you to decide which configuration suits you best and which package will you get: this one or the Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Tough decisions!

Update: As it turns out, Asus is planning to offer TWO new Memo Pad devices and not just one as we had earlier thought. The first, the Eee Pad MeMO (ME171) that we’ve already seen before, packs a 7-inch WXGA 1,280 x 800 IPS capacitive touchscreen, along with  a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8260 processor, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR,  a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera plus 5 megapixel rear camera, GPS, gyroscope, proximity sensor, 16GB / 32GB of storage capacities, and  a micro-USB port. The 4,400mAh Li-polymer battery inside will be able to deliver up 8.5 hours of video time, on average, powered by the latest Android 4.0.1 Os running atop. General availability is scheduled for Q2 2012 in the U.S.

The second device, the  ME370T – A 7-inch  quad-core tablet, powered by a Tegra 3 chip, is likely to run an Android Ice Cream Sandwich under the hood, paired with a WiFi-only connectivity an 8 megapixel camera behind its back and some other goodies that you’ll just have to wait patiently for them a few weeks more. Lenovo’s 10.1-inch IdeaPad Tablet P1 Officially Introduced With Windows 7 On Board

You may be thinking that getting a Windows 7 tablet isn’t a good deal considering the iOS and Android alternatives available at the market right now. Well, in that case, think again because a brand new, light-weight tablet, powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system is on its way to the market, the Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet P1. It is equipped with a 10.1-inch shell design, while running a 1.5GHz Intel processor inside, as the screen resolution is at 1280 x 800 and the touchscreen display will utilize capacitive touch technology. Furthermore, it arrives with 2GB of DDR2 memory, as well as 64GB of SSD storage, microSD card reader, USB 2.0 hub, Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G connectivity. In addition, there’s a full stylus pen technology support and a 2-megapixel webcam for video telephony is placed in the front. The two-cell battery delivers up to six hours of continuous work, while colors wise, you get to choose between a dull silver-gray or a vivid Clementine Orange. Both price and availability are yet to be determined.

Lenovo 10.1-inch Thinkpad Tablet To Be Released This Summer With Honeycomb On Board

Nothing is still certain, but according to a leaked slide which was recently discovered by the blogsphere, Lenovo is currently working around the clock to bring us a 10.1-inch Android 3.0 tablet with either 16, 32, or 64GB of storage and a Tegra 2 chipset on board. The 1.6 pounds rumored device, now being dubbed Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet, seems to be almost over as details on the product launch begin to surface, suggesting up to 8 hours of battery pack, tucked with dual cameras, an SD card slot, mini-HDMI output and a 1280 x 800 IPS capacitive touchscreen panel on top. As for price, well… I guess it comes down to what the iPad devices cost – from $499, starting this coming July across major US retail stores.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Windows 7 Tablet Now Official

Though we’ve already had a chance to see what Fujitsu’s  Stylistic Q550 Windows 7 tablet might look like, an official announcement from the Japanese corp suggests that the 10.1-inch Oak Trail-powered device will go live tomorrow morning, running Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional edition under the hood, alongside a four-finger multitouch WXGA display, 2GB of RAM, Wireless WAN, optional HSPA module, USB 2.0 hub and 30/64GB of SSD storage at your choice. As mentioned earlier, it is supposed to be available across Europe, starting tomorrow, for a whopping €699 (about $965). Dell’s 2011 Tablets Slide Unveiled

Considering the fact that we’ve already seen a couple of leaked Dell roadmap slides in 2010, doesn’t mean we’re not interested to see a few slides more; on the contrary, we’d love to get ’em if you have any, in particular those planned for 2013, 2014, and on and on. As for 2011/2012, the Androidcentral guys have somehow managed to obtain Dell’s tablets forecast, and it’s here presented to you with much enthusiasm and galore. According to the roadmap we’re seeing, Dell’s Streak 10 is only few days away from launching, as far as the Q1 “storyline” goes, while in Q2 we should expect the Dell Gallo tablet, with a Honeycomb flavor attached, and a Streak 7 update somewhere in the late July. Staying in that Q2 framework for a moment, we’re also looking at Dell’s 10-inch Windows 7 slate, planned under the codename Rosemount and scheduled for June, with a 1366 x 768 pixels resolution display that supports HD 720p video transmission. Jumping forward to Q4 and Q1 of 2012, there’s a number of entries worthy of a mention, including the Honeycomb-powered Dell Sterling device (due out in late October), the Dell Opus One and Dell Silver Oak, both are due to go on sale in 2012 running Android Honeycomb platform within, and last but not least, the Dell Peju that makes a grand entrance with Windows 8 on board.

So there you have it, fellow readers; It’s definitely going to be an interesting year for the tablets form factor, at least as far as Dell is concerned.

Is That HTC’s Next Android 2.3 Flyer Tablet?

Well, according to several reliable Amobil sources it probably is, and most importantly, designed to include a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 chip along with a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 capacitive touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal flash storage, dual webcams (1.3MP on the back and a 5MP up front), HDMI output, 3G connectivity and DLNA support. And while there’s no official confirmation yet, nor any info about price or availability, the general feeling upon this upcoming/speculated device is pretty positive overall, and that we’re only few months away from seeing it out on the market, running Google’s Android 2.3 OS under the hood and preloaded with HTC’s Sense UI platform on board. In addition, there are other rumors about a larger, faster 10-inch LTE slate hitting the streets in the second half of the year, but that just seems too early to report.

Gigabyte’s S1080 Windows 7 Slate Shows Up in Taiwan

In a bid to steal some thunder, a few companies that opted to unveil some of their products at CES, have chosen to stick with a more solid plan of action and show their stuff a few days after the show. One of them is hardware manufacturer Gigabyte that recently announced its latest S1080 revelation – a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 capacitive touchscreen slate, powered by Intel’s dual core Atom N550 processor and seems patched to work with Microsoft’s Windows 7 platform on board. And while this $699 device appears to be Gigabyte’s first attempt to push a well established tablet into the pond, the list of specifications covered is quite impressive and would definitely pose a threat to other upcoming slabs from all over the world. In that context, we speak about a huge 320GB hard drive, along with an ethernet, SD card slot, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth 3.0 support. Besides that, we’re looking at a VGA display connector (no HDMI?) and a top notch USB 3.0 port. The first shipment is scheduled to leave on February, but in the meantime, you’re all invited to hit the jump and read the full PR note.

Update: And looks like the 3G-enabled 10.1-incher is finally up for a purchase, East side, for a whopping NT$22,900 (about $785). Just a bit higher than a first-gen 3G iPad with 64GB of storage that runs for NT$22,800. It’s a no-brainer scenario for us.

Enspert Identity Tab E301 Android Tablet Officially Out In South Korea

In the inevitable storm of Android tablets set to rain down on us this coming year, one thing’s for sure: it won’t be easy for smaller manufacturers to distinguish themselves apart. Not to mention creating a buzz. But that doesn’t mean we won’t see them, right? Right. Korean Enspert, for instance, is a good way to illustrate our thoughts, because most people have probably never heard of them before, and yet thankfully, it didn’t stop them from launching an Android tablet of their own. And if you’re still reading, here’s what the company’s 7-inch Identity Tab E301 slate (yep, that’s the full name) is going to boast: Generally speaking, we’re looking at a $350 tablet with 1024 x 600 capacitive touchscreen resolution, alongside a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal flash storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a mini USB hub, and HDMI port. In addition to that, there’s a 4100mAH battery pack preloaded inside, a microSD, optional 3G-enabled version, and last but not least, dual webcams – a 5 megapixel unit on the back, and another at 1.3 megapixel, up front. In a first move, the Asian corp says it has already started selling its latest and greatest merchandise locally, while US invasion is expected to take place in cooperation with a major wireless carrier during a back-to-school launch, in the coming months or so. Update: There seems to be one or more than one Identity Tab models out there, as it would appear on a recent pre-order page that has recently emerged at  Dynamism‘s online store. The other version, Identity Tab E201U, which will run on Google’s Android Froyo platform (with both Gmail and Android Market preloaded inside), boasts that same 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen display on top, along with a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, PowerVR SGX540 for the graphics and one single SD card slot. MSI WindPad 100W and 100A Tablets Officially Introduced

We’ve first seen them back in June as the WindPad 100 and 110, and now at CES 2011, they will actually come out as the WindPad 100W and WindPad 100A, as MSI recently announced it. And while there’s really nothing new in terms of design, spec wise there seems to be signs of great improvement (though it still feels a bit sluggish). As said, this is going to be another addition to MSI’s 10-inch portfolio of Windows 7 and Android slates, which due to ship within three months or so. The first model, the WindPad 100W, is said to sport a 1.66GHz Atom Menlow Z530 CPU along with 2GB of RAM, 32GB SSD and Windows 7 OS on board. While the second, which boasts an Android platform under the lid, together with a full Android Market access, packs a ARM Cortex A8 chip, paired with 1GB of RAM, duo webcams, HDMI out, SD card and USB ports. Prices are yet to be announced, but ’till then, hit the jump to watch the video or read the full PR.

Update: It looks like MSI’s 10-inch 100W slate is now being offered on Simply Electronics for a whopping $709.95. That’s way too much for a Windows 7 Starter device, if you’re asking us. Anyway, it’s your call, but you’d probably better wait until mid-February or so.

Fujitsu’s Unnamed Windows 7 Slate To Include Intel Oak Trail CPU Inside (Update: Stylistic Q550)

Fujitsu is no stranger to the world of portable devices. As a matter of fact, the company has already released a few of them during the last few months. The latest one, which doesn’t have an official title yet, is said to arrive with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, powered by a Windows 7 platform along with Intel’s new Oak Trail Atom Z670 processor that is capable in providing low battery consumption for a long period of use. Besides that, the 1.5 pound tablet boasts 2GB of RAM, removal battery pack and a pair of VGA webcams, one on each side. Software wise, the device sports a new breed of layer that Fujitsu skinned atop of the Windows 7 OS, but that’s probably the only thing that the company was willing to share at the moment and frankly, we need to know more before committing our limited financial resources. In any case, availability is expected for Q2 of this year, so stay tuned for plenty more to come.

Update: Now that Fujitsu’s 10-inch mystery tablet is finally making its way out to the market, we’re glad to learn that the Windows 7-powered device was finally given a name – and is now known as the Stylistic Q550. And while we’re still unfamiliar with price and availability details, other specs include this aforementioned Oak Trail processor, along with smartcard slot, front and rear cameras, 32GB / 64GB SSD storage at your choice, USB hub, optional 3G connectivity and fingerprint reader for security log. Velocity Cruz, a company that has already launched a couple of Android devices before, is one firm that wisely showed up in order to launch and promote its latest and greatest Android tablets lineup, which comprises of three different models: the 7-inch Cruz Tablet L37 that packs a 1024 x 600 capacitive touchscreen, along with 4GB of storage, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, dual webcams In the back and in the front, a bunch of brightly colored buttons on the left edge, and a a microHDMI output port. Up next, we have the Cruz Tablet P38 that boasts pretty much the same specs, only with a slightly higher screen resolution – a 1024 x 768. and finally, the flagship version, Cruz Tablet L510, that features a 10.1-inch 1366 x 768 display, paired with a 1GHz dual-core processor and NVIDIA’s Tegra 250 chipset for the graphics. Acer’s 10-inch Iconia Tab A500 Android Tablet Officially Unveiled

Remember Acer’s mysterious 10.1-inch android-tablet which we’ve already seen in New York City back in November, last year? Well, there it is, live and kickin’ in NVIDIA’s booth at CES 2011, rising up again – this time with a brand new name – Acer Iconia Tab A500. Generally speaking, this is Acer’s first serious attempt to take on the iPad, and it’s a worthy one, no doubt. With “10 point multitouch” screen, Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, a built-in gyroscope and hopefully, Google’s android Gingerbread running inside, you can’t go wrong, can you? Especially when it’s going to take advantage of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network. As for the UI, we’re looking at “Acer UI 4.5” that the company has skinned atop the the Android OS, while other specs include a bunch of embedded ports such as HDMI out, a full-sized USB plus a micro-USB one, a dock connector on the bottom, and 1080p along with 3D gaming support. Still no price or availability dates to share at the moment, but ’till then, Engadget has the hands-on video that you can find along with the Full PR, after the break.

Update1: Acer has just confirmed the UK pricing for its forthcoming Iconia Tab A500 tablets lineup and it’s pretty much within the iPad range: The WiFi-only flavors (Windows 7 or Android OS) will run you for £449 each, while the 3G-enabled W500 version will set you back for £529 when it officially gets out in the UK on April 8th. Still no word about the A500 pricing numbers.

Update2: And looks like the US official price is going to be more competitive than we originally thought, or in other words, the 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) Android Honeycomb tablet which boasts a 1GB of RAM along with a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 250 and dual cameras on the back (5MP) and up front (2MP), will set you back for only $450 on Best Buy retail stores while shipping starts on April 24. Let the competition begin!

Update3: It seems that Acer’s new Iconia Tab A500 is finally listed for sale on Best Buy. Apparently, this is the WiFi-only version of Acer’s brand new tablet and it will set you back for $450. In exchange you’re getting all the good specs we’ve already mentioned, including a Tegra 2 chip, paired with a 10.1-inch display, 16GB of storage, USB 2.0 hub and 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity.

AOC Breeze Tablet Boasts 8-inch Display and Android 2.1 Platform

The more we’re getting closer to CES 2011, the more we’re going to hear about new products that join the world’s biggest tech celebration. AOC’s 8-inch Breeze is just the latest in that series. The new tablet, which was recently unveiled by one of the largest LED / LCD monitor manufacturers, runs an obsolete Android 2.1 platform within, along with an 800 x 600 screen resolution, and a slew of physical keys, up right, on top of the screen bezel. In addition, there’s a Rockchip chipset inside, paired with 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a battery pack that is claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of audio or 6 hours of video, WiFi connectivity, an internal speaker, and a single USB 2.0 port. Toshiba Honeycomb Tegra 2 Tablet Announced (Update: AKA ANT)

Shocking! Toshiba has just announced yet another NVIDIA Tegra 2 tablet and oddly, it ain’t the 10-inch Folio slab we’ve all seen before. Details are scarce at the moment but we do know that the package includes a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display, with an integrated accelerometer, Adaptive Display technology (whatever that means), dual webcams (5mp at the back plus 2mp up front), Google’s Honecomb Android 2.4 platform and myriad types of ports , such as full sized USB and HDMI hubs, a mini-USB socket, and an SD card slot. Obviously, we’re very excited about it, and hopefully we should expect to see a working version in the coming days or so. There’s another image at the other side of the post.

Update1: Quick measures update: The slate is said to weigh about 1.7lb and will feature a 0.6-inches body.

Update2: PCMag’s Lance Ulanoff was lucky enough to take a closer look at one of Toshiba’s unnamed working units at the CES show in Vegas and you can watch his quick “first-look” video right after the break.

Update3: And looks like Tosh has finally started rolling out its latest and greatest Android 3.0 tablets lineup, now available for a purchase over at Newegg‘s online store and known as ANT. Apparently, there are three Honeycomb tablets in stock: ANT-100 ($449.99), ANT-102 ($499.99) and ANT-104 ($579.99). Each one of them boast that 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) touchscreen on top, along with NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip, and either 8/16/32GB of storage at your choice. Cool!

Acer’s Android Tablet Gets Demoed on Video

OH! What’s this? Looks like someone has finally managed to put his hands on Acer’s 10.1-inch Android Froyo tablet a lot earlier than expected. While details are still scarce, it appears that the 1GHz dual-core processor machine, which boasts a 1280×800 screen resolution and runs 1080p files stutter free, is having some sort of a new gyro UI that can barely handle preloaded apps for switching between photos, or jumping from one e-reader stuff to another. That said, you’ll have to bare in mind it’s still in a beta stage and that the real thing (which presumably packs Honeycomb OS inside) is likely to run much much better. Creative’s Android 2.1 ZiiO Tablet Officially Goes Live

Creative is finally acknowledging publicly the burgeoning trend of reasonably cheap Android 2.x tablets. Although the company is best known for its wide variety of audio players, it was only a matter of time before a commercial launch of such a device (a tablet) would eventually happen – and the sonner, was probably the better! As of this week, the Koreans are finally offering their very own Android 2.1 slate, known as the ZiiO, with a 7-inch 800×400 touchscreen display on top of the lid and a LABS ZMS-08 HD processor, along with 8/16GB of storage, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and a 1.3 megapixels camera, up front. Did we mention cheap? In that case, you should know that the 8GB version is priced at only $249.99, while its bigger brother, the 16GB flavor will cost just $20 more. Will it be a hit or miss for retailers this holiday shopping season? Only time will tell.

Acer To Launch a 10.1-inch Windows 7 Tablet

As if the big Android tablets announcement wasn’t enough, Acer also announced that it would be launching a 10.1-inch Windows 7 device. And while we are still awaiting further details on what this tablet should be packing inside, external outfit will measure 15mm thick and somewhere around the 2.2 pounds. Interestingly, it is said to have an AMD processor on board rather than an Intel Atom CPU or perhaps a Qualcomm Snapdragon one. Surely, it will offer some sort of a docking station to buy, along with dual 1.3MP cameras, WiFi connectivity and a 3G HSDPA WWAN. Stay tuned for plenty more to come.

Upate1: The guys over at DigiTimes are now reporting that Acer  plans to use AMD’s dual-core C-50 Ontario APU inside its next 10.1-inch Windows 7 tablet. The impact of these news on a day-to-day use is actually huge – This will not only improve performance (thanks to the built-in Radeon HD 6250 graohics chip), it will also lower the power consumption dramatically (9W only). That is, of course, if all these mind-changing rumors are true. Update2: And looks like Acer’s Windows-powered Iconia W500 tablet is finally up for pre-order for $549, with shipping starting Friday, April 15 and a line of specs that includes a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 touchscreen display, a 1GHz Ontario (C-50) AMD Fusion processor, up to 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, HDMI out, three/six-cell battery at your choice, and an AMD Radeon HD 6250 card for the graphics. Velocity Micro’s Android Cruz Tablet Is Finally Ready For a Shipping

Just as promised, the 7-inch Velocity Cruz is finally out and ready for the masses. And while you shouldn’t expect too much, performance wise, from a $299 slate, still it will cost you a whole lot cheaper getting it, rather than any other similar device – and from our perspective, it could easily be a good value over price. After all, don’t forget that you’re getting a very responsive capacitive display in here, instead of those sluggish and not so friendly resistive touchscreen ones. Regretfully, you’ll have to settle with an Android 2.0 version, with no direct access to Google’s Android Market inside (there’s a Cruz Market which seems pretty limited compared to well established online hubs). Yet, the slate itself does offer 512MB of RAM, 12GB of storage, WiFi, stereo speakers, 10 hours of battery and a mini-USB port, to take on a ride. Dell Inspiron Duo is Officially Official

Well, we knew it was only a matter of days before Dell’s new hybrid machine, the Inspiron Duo, would officially become real. And while the 10.1-inch tablet / netbook device isn’t exactly available for pre-orders yet (Dell says it should probably go live soon), we can finally tell you what’s on it, when it’ll be out, somewhere around the first week of December. Generally speaking, the basic model will run you for $549 (about £450), packing a dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor, along with 2GB of RAM, 250GB of storage, a Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator, and Windows 7 Home Premium for the OS. However, there are plenty of optional extras that can be added to Dell’s ordinary bundle, such as the JBL speaker dock, that will definitely upgrade your day-to-day experience and make it, in our humble opinion, a lot more comfortable. But it would cost you a lot, a hundred bucks more. So there you have it – make it yours or let it go – it’s your freedom of choice.

Sylvania To Roll Out a 7-inch Android Tablet For $180

Looking for a low-rate Android tablet bargain? Make sure to check out Sylvania’s 7-inch Android 2.1 device, now being offered on Kmart for a mere $179.99. Pretty reasonable price for something that boasts a 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen (probably resistive), along with 512MB of RAM, 2GB of Flash memory, WiFi, front-facing webcam and a bunch of desirable ports (such as mini-USB, microSD slot and HDMI out), isn’t it? Creative Announces a 7 and 10 Inch Ziio Android Tablets

Oh look who decided to join the Android tablets bandwagon, none other than Creative. About time guys, but what’s with those sluggish resistive displays? Why aren’t we going capacitive, eh? Alright, enough with those self-proclaimed mumblings – let’s dive into the details, shall we? From the few published info, we know that there are two Ziio tablets: One at 7-inch (480 x 800) and the second with a 10-inch (1024 x 768) display – Both are running Android 2.1 platform, both are packing a ZiiLabs ZMS-08 processor, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and microSD slot. Not due out until December of 2010, the first model (7-inch) will run you for €229 (8GB) or €259 (16GB) while the second, the 10-incher, is priced at €289 (8GB) or €319 (16GB) and not a single penny more.

Advent’s 10-Inch Android Vega Tablet Introduced

Frankly speaking, we don’t even know if any of you is going to buy a non-branded tablet, do you? Nevertheless, we’re still very committed to bring them up into public view and give them a stage they would not normally have the chance to play. For instance, have a look at Advent’s most recently-announced Tegra-powered Vega tablet. I mean seriously, with a 10-inch (1024 x 600) capacitive display on top, paired with an HDMI output, WiFi, SD card reader, 512MB of RAM, 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra chipset, 1.3MP camera and Android 2.2 platform, running about 6.5 hours on average  – How wrong can you get? Not to mention it would cost only £249 (under $400) and will surely pump your high-def videos on your tele, stutter free. Where can I get one, you’re probably asking? Well…giant electronic retailer, Dixons is already offering this wild Android beast for sale on its UK stores, while the rest of us ordinary plebeians (from other continents) will have to settle for the hands-on videos right after the break.

Update1: Regretfully, the 10-inch Vega won’t have access to Google’s Android Market at the moment (maybe on January when Android 3 will go live). Instead, you’ll get the Archos AppsLib store, which offers around 5000 apps at any given moment.

Update2: It seems like there may be an Android Market solution after all. Thanks to the good guys over at MoDaCo, a tweaked ROM v1.04, which was specially designed and built for the 10-inch tablet, is now available to download in the source link  above, promising the same functionality but with most Google features inside, including voice search, GTalk, Gmail, Google maps and a full unrestricted Android Market access. So Archos has a new “internet tablets” lineup, and the first model to roll out in the coming days will be the 3.2-inch Archos 32 – a mini tablet and a media player hybrid which runs for $149.99 and offers a 400 x 240 touchscreen display (resistive) that packs underneath an 800MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, along with 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, G-sensor, and Android 2.2 for the OS. Indian Government To Release a $35 Tablet Device For Local Students

Yes, it would have been nice if a sub $100 tablet could actually pop up in western shores immediately, but it won’t. Instead, you’re going to get it in India, the second-most populous country in the world, for $35 US Dollars only(!), running some sort of a Linux platform inside and fully equipped with 2GB of memory, a nice resistive touchscreen, one USB port, 2W power draw, built-in stereo speakers and plenty other basic components to hold. According to Kapil Sibal, India’s Human Resource Development Minister, the Indian government apparently plans to sell it for educational purposes starting next year, with more than 8,500 local schools and colleges already joined the program, and other institutes that will likely signed it in the following days, weeks or months that left before this cool tablet finally shows. The end-game target is to sell it for merely $10 a piece, with $20 subsidized by the Indian government and the rest, coming out of students pockets and other available funding sources along the road  – Very cool, huh? Update1: More details about the $35 Asian-based tablet sprout out on Indian TV, suggesting it should go out with 2GB RAM, microSD storage, integrated webcam, WiFI/3G connectivity and last but not least, Android OS onboard. Olive Pad VT100 Android Tablet Breaks Cover In India (Update: With Video)

India is about to join the world on that super-cool Android tablets trend, with local company, Olive Telecom announcing its first 3.5G Android 2.1 tablet, also known as the Olive Pad VT100, and claimed to go live in India somewhere next month, for prices range between Rs.20000 to Rs.25000, or about $425 to $530 in US Dollars. And while we can’t be certain about a US release, Indian geeks will most likely enjoy holding it with both hands and surf the net on that nice looking 7-inch (800 x 480) capacitive touchscreen. Other than that, this neat and not-too-shabby gadget is said to include 512MB of internal memory, paired with a 3MP rear camera, an SD card slot, mini USB hub, a 3,240mAh battery, Bluetooth, WiFi, an integrated compass and last but not least, a G-sensor support. So yes, it’s a fascinating slate-smartphone hybrid device. Cisco Cius Android Tablet Announced, Aims To Take Over The Growing Business Market

Network giant Cisco just announced a new business oriented tablet called Cius. Basically, it’s a 7-inch (800×600 touchscreen resolution) tablet which apparently runs a Google Android OS inside and packs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, along some other cool components, including a 32GB of internal storage, a battery with up to 8-hour of working time, Wi-Fi, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, one micro-USB port and last but not least, a 720p front-facing HD camera, supporting 5MP at 30 frames per second. Texas Instruments Blaze tablet To Officially Go Live this August

Despite having little information at the moment, Texas Instrument’s new revelation, also known as the Blaze, is one of many devices that were recently mentioned to hit the trendy overcrowded tablets pond, in coming months – and make no mistakes, it’s surely going to be good. And getting down to the nitty gritty things, this 10.4-inch XVGA touchscreen slate runs a 1GHz OMAP4430 CPU and is scheduled to go live with two USB ports, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth, and a GPS navigation system, somewhere around August. But that’s not all, because TI’s Blaze will also offer its owners some very cool features, thanks to revolutionary multiple external camera modules, and external DLP pico-projector support. NEC’s LifeTouch Android Tablet Sprouts Out In The Wild

So there’s not really much to say about NEC and its new seven-inch LifeTouch Android tablet, besides the fact it boasts an ARM Cortex A8 processor, runs an Android 2.1 OS under the lid and scheduled for release in Japan somewhere around October. Apparently, the new slate supports both landscape and portrait view (in case you’d like to read some e-books)  and said to arrive fully customized, mainly for enterprise purposes. MSI WindPad 100 And 110 Spoted Live n Kickin’ at Computex 2010

It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen a real MSI tablet in action, but that (as a fact) doesn’t necessarily mean the Chinese corp has stopped manufacturing. On the contrary, it has just introduced two of its brand new 10-inch tablets at the Computex show in Taipei. The first model, WindPad 110, is powered by an Android 2.1 OS, and seems to be capable of handling high-def content pretty well, thanks to NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor on board. The touchscreen is capacitive and very responsive if you wondered, and the chassis itself includes a USB port and video output as well. The tablet will sell for $399 by the end of this year.

Heading to the second version, the WindPad 100 (which we’ve already seen a while ago), this one runs a Windows 7 Premium platform, while specs wise, it packs a 1.66GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM, 32GB SSD, two USB ports, an HDMI output, built-in webcam and finally, a special Wind Touch UI which MSI has literally stuffed on top of Microsoft’s coat. The WinPad 100 is set for release later this year for about $499 – hundred dollars more.

Update: Now official. Prices are at $399 for the U110 and $499 for the U100. Availability is yet to be determined.

Shogo 10-inch Linux tablet Pops Up Of Freescale HQ In Toulouse

You may have heard about France based company, Realease, and its 10.2-inch kitchen tablet QOOQ, when it was first introduced back in 2009. At first, it seemed as if the French guys were mainly aiming to improve and extend your professional cuisine capabilities, but now it looks like they want to reach some other basic segments. The latest from this company is Shogo, a 10-inch multitouch (capacitive) Linux tablet, offering two Freescale CPU models, the basic i.MX37 and the faster i.MX51, both of which to share rooms with a built-in camera, three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, microphone and dual headphone jacks, while operated under a Linux (sluggish) webkit browser for the OS. Aigo’s 7-inch N700 Tablet Announced, Boasts Android 2.1 and Tegra 2 Chipset Inside

Another day another tablet. This time it’s the newly born Aigo N700 (also branded as Compal NAZ-10), a 7-inch 800 x 480 multitouch machine, powered by Google’s Android 2.1 platform running with a powerful 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor inside and priced attractively, at $300 only. This handsome piece of craft plays 1080p videos stater-free thanks to Nvidia’s Tegra 2 graphics chipset planted within its bowels, along an HDMI output to pump vids out or the 4/16/32GB capacities you can choose from, to store things onboard. Other than that, it packs a microSD slot expansion, a USB port, WiFi, optional 3G WWAN connection and what appears to be a nice tiny webcam, built to the the left, on front. No idea whether it would go outside the Chinese boundaries, but it sure looks like a great device that can definitely rock.

iPad 3G Officially Goes Live Today

Some of you might already know this, some might not, so here goes: today, April 30th at 5PM, is the day that Apple’s 3G iPad tablet is finally expected to make a debut and officially come up on retails stores. Those who already pre-ordered should go and track their package, as it’s probably hanging somewhere, or already traveling straight to your door. Prices, if you’re asking, start at $629 for the 3G 16GB version and climb up to $829 for the 64GB flavor. Happy iPad 3G day!

Dell’s Leaked Roadmap Photo Reveals More Netbooks/Tablets Coming This Summer

Looks like known Android-powered slabs such as the 5-inch Streak and 7-inch Looking Glass tablet, are not the only ones that Dell is planning to launch at full scale this very busy summer. In fact, according to a roadmap image acquired by Android Central guys exclusively, the Texan corp appears to have plenty more goodies, safely kept and well hidden under its dark out-of-range garner. And this ain’t a Dell fanboy talking trash, you know, this is something real, something concrete, that most geek audience should lend an ear to. This time, we have two Moblin devices ready to break cover and go under the spotlight in early and late Autumn. The first, known as the Sparta netbook tablet, packs an 11-inch 1024 x 768 display, paired with ARM Cortex processor, along with a special swivel base and a batch of optional connections, including WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G WWAN. The second in this session is the 0.9kg Athens “true” netbook, boasting that same similar ingredients its Sparta sibling has, like the aforementioned ARM processor and those several optional connectivity modules. This one however tucked with a non-swivel 11-inch platform. The third in that page, is the 7-inch Looking Glass Pro Android tablet which appears to be exactly like Dell’s neat Looking Glass Android tablet, spotted by engadget folks, couple days before. And then, there’s another one in this class, the LG Pro, which features premium components like advanced “HD screen” and digital TV tuner on top of the very basic fare. Finally, and most exciting for us on a personal level, is the 5-inch Streak, which according to this document suppose to come out in three different lanes: the US T-Mobile and European Vodafone versions, slated for this summer as well, while Chinese flavors are set for a Q4 release under all major carriers. WePad Tablet Gets Official, Goes For €450 In August (Update: Now Called WeTab)

Remember the WePad, a German Linux-based tablet that has literally turned the iPad phenomenon into plural shapes? Well, guess what, it just gone Official and is slated to come out sometime this August, starting at €450 ($610) for the 16GB WiFi version and up to €569 ($775) for the 64GB 3G enabled model. And based on its German creator Neofonie, that held a press conference in Berlin only few hours ago, it’d likely include most parts that your brand new iPad lacks. With specifications reminiscent of a netbook, more than a slate, this sleek 11.6-inch touchscreen device is said to have a Full HD compatibility via Broadcom’s Crystal HD graphics accelerator, along a 1.3mp camera, Intel Atom N450 processor, optional GPS antenna, integrated card reader, built-in stereo speakers, 6 hours battery, and finally, dual USB 2.0 ports. The UI itself works surprisingly smooth, as you may learn from the three downstairs videos, and the well-designed internet browser claimed to boast Adobe’s flash support. In fact, the company has already shown us some of its most unique and attractive Android-powered nifty slates, it has launched over the past three months, and boy they look good, aren’t they? Back then, no one seemed to care that much. Today, on the other hand, when multiple players (especially the big ones) such as Apple and HP, have taken the wraps off their own handy-dandy tablet machines, it’s a whole new world out there, and ICD seems to understand that pretty well, otherwise it wouldn’t have thought of launching yet another one, would it? And its latest revelation, also known as the Gemini, is definitely a game changer in this boiling sphere, with 11.2-inch 1366 x 768 capacitive touchscreen on top and some very impressive line of components seating under the lid – amongst you’ll find a 2 mp front-facing webcam along a 5 mp autofocusing slit on the back, FM radio, SD card reader, GPS, 802.11 b/g/ n WiFi connection, Bluetooth, HDMI, MicroUSB port, dual stereo speakers, a 40Wh removable battery and last but not least, Nvidia Tegra 2 SOC  – here that iPad, JooJoo, HP Slate et all? Apple Says Over 300,000 iPads Sold On Launch Day (Update: 1,000,000 In First Month)

Whether you do agree with Steve Jobs saying his new tablet machine – The iPad – is “magical” and “revolutionary” or whether you don’t, one thing’s for sure, you can’t argue with numbers – and the numbers, according to Apple itself, are pretty impressive. Apparently, over 300,000 iPads were sold in the US on launch day alone, on April 3rd that is, including both retail sales (Best Buy and Apple Stores)  and pre-ordered deliveries to customers across the States – that’s 30,000 more, compared to iPhone’s 270,000 pieces that Cupertino sold (in first 30 hours). In addition, Apple says that iPad users already downloaded over a million apps from its App Store and over 250,000 e-books were downloaded as well from Apple’s iBook store during first day of launch – that’s an average of…”more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad”, says Jobs himself. Can they hold up with those numbers? Time would tell.

The iPad Has Been Jailbroken One Day After Debut

Well, what do you know guys, it’s been like what – one day since Apple has officially launched the iPad in the US? And while many tech users already complained this new Apple tablet comes too closed, too restricted for them to buy, someone called MuscleNerd, who apparently belongs to the almighty freedom defenders, iPhone Dev-Team, decided to prove different – in other words, he’s managed to hack  Steve Jobs’ dearest toy and film the entire process on a video. How did he do that? By creating a root-access on the iPad, thanks to a port of Comex’s ‘Spirit’ iPhone OS 3.1.3 jailbreak that exploits a bug which will hopefully allow us to install on Cupertino’s slate anything we’d literally like. If  Spanish Clipset‘s words should be taken at face value, HP’s most anticipated 7-inch slate wonder may finally get the official announcement  we’ve all been waiting for somewhere this June, while retail presence should start “before September” . That said, we should all proceed with caution when it comes to rumors, Right? Nevertheless, it is said to include Intel’s Atom processor inside, along several USB ports (you hear that Apple?), a card reader slot extension, a built-in back-mounted webcam and even…a flash support – all priced VERY competitively, at €400 (or $545) – but this remains to be officially determined in the following months. Archos 7 Home Tablet Introduced, Running Android Platform and ARM 9 CPU Onboard

We’ve already seen a glimpse from Archos’ 7-inch Android-powered tablet one month ago, but now things turn to be official at CeBIT 2010, with the French debuting their 600MHz ARM 9 Home Tablet machine, aiming the low cost market with attractive and very affordable prices – €149 in Europe and only $179 Stateside. And despite that unconvincing HD friendly resistive touchscreen, we can find a lot of reason for you to buy it. First and foremost, it’s cheap, second, it comes with WiFi so you can easily surf the net without the need for other device, third, it looks great at 12mm thin and weighs only 350g and fourth, it has 2GB of storage capacity inside and a microSD card extension slot. No, it doesn’t include an integrated accelerometer inside so you won;t be able to see your photos in landscape mode or read your favorite eBook vertically, but still, for that pricing level it sure worth a try, especially when it comes to the battery that delivers seven hours of video or 44 hours of audio playback. Update1: And just when things are getting busy within the tablet realm, the Android-powered Archos 7 8GB tablet device appears online in couple of places, available for a pre-order (and as an iPad alternative) for merely €200 ($270) on the German Amazon or at €180 ($240) on Redcoon’s website.

Update2: Looks like the Archos 7 Home Tablet is now finally available to order on Amazon for $199.99, with an official release date – yet to be determined (probably towards the end of April).

Update3: Unfortunately, the Archos 7 won’t be available in the market until early June of this year. That said, according to the French corp, those who pre-ordered the 7-inch, Android 1.6 tablet may get their piece of craft somewhere towards the end of May. Full PR after the break.

It’s been a while since we’ve last seen a tablet netbook from Asus, but thanks to the FCC division we’re finally getting a chance to see their new and latest swivel-enabled ultra-portable mate, the Eee PC T101MT, which crams a 10.1-inch 1024 x 768 resistive multitouch display along with 160GB or 320GB capacities at your choice, 1.6GHz Atom N450 CPU, Windows 7, up to 2GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 connection, 0.3 mp webcam and a battery that can deliver up to 6.5 hours of work time. Ports list includes a VGA output, SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader, three USB hubs and Ethernet jack, tucked into black or white body flavors. Still no world about price or availability but be sure we’re here to update as soon as they come. Meanwhile, hit the jump to see some video tutorials.
