Packard Bell Dot S4 netbook Pops Up in the Boot-Shaped Land

It’s been a while since we’ve last heard anything from Packard Bell in regards to netbooks, but despite that, the brand has grown substantially in recent months and today it gets another new member to the oh-so-beautiful group. The culprit, also known as the DOT S4, doesn’t have any official word about price or availability, but even so, boasts a 10.1-inch display along Intel’s Atom N450 processor, up to 2GB of RAM, 160/250GB hard drive and GMA 3150 for the graphics. Other than that, you get inside, a 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a 6-cell battery and a copy of Windows 7 Home Starter edition, to handle things around. Video after the break.

Sony VAIO W Netbook Gets a Fashionable Billabong Design

Isn’t she a beauty? That’s probably the first thing crossing your mind right now, looking at Sony’s Billabong inspired VAIO W netbook, that was recently announced over in Australia and due out next month for a whopping AU$749 ( about $620) price tag. It is expensive for a 10.1-inch (1,366 x 768) netbook, paired with a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, Windows 7 Starter and an integrated Intel GPU,  if you get to think about it, but hey! that’s exactly what arts and crafts were made for, isn’t it? And frankly, Sony’s engineers have already proven their worth in the industry, so whether you’d pay for a Sony-Billabong partnership or not, it’s really up to you to decide – We are just sharing our crazy wish list here. As of today, a Stateside availability is still unknown.

Update: Looks like Sony’s 10.1-inch Billabong netbook is finally making its way Stateside, with a pre-order page up and ready to take your orders at $500, and shipment set for June 11th. PR after the break.

ASUS EeePC 1015P and 1015PE Sprout Out Officially, Deliver Up To 13.5 Hours Of Battery Work

It’s all about battery life and longevity these days, especially when it comes to laptops and portable media devices. And Asus, more than anyone else in this industry, seems to understand it pretty well, otherwise, how can you explain these two 10.1-inch netbooks, EeePC 1015P and 1015PE, that recently announced with Pine Trail CPUs inside along with a massive 6-cell 63Wh battery pack delivering up to 13.5 hours of continuous work – now that’s a lot, isn’t it? Besides that, you get the usual components you’d probably expect to find in any other powerful netbooks available in the pond, including two gigs of RAM, 160GB to 320GB capacities to choose from, Windows 7 for the OS, WiFi, Bluetooth, built-in webcam and finally, Atom N450 processors. On that note, you should know that the difference between the two versions is essentially cosmetic. Price and availability are yet to be determined though.

Fujitsu To Tighten The Lines With The New LifeBook MH330 Netbook

It’s been a while since we’ve last seen a new fujitsu netbook coming our way, but it seems the company has done a lot of thinking lately which eventually produced a sexy slim-and-light netbook lineup it can definitely be proud of. And the latest culprit in this recent roundup session is the 2.4 pounds LifeBook MH330 machine that boasts a wide 10.1-inch WSVGA display, paired with some common up-to-date specs, including an Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, one tiny memory card reader, Bluetooth v2.1 enabled and a 802.11b/g/n WiFi connection. Still no word about Stateside prices or availability, but for those of us lucky enough to travel throughout Asia, it would probably be easy to nab one for somewhere around the 500 bucks.

At first glance, the latest Asus Eee PC 1001PX is just the typical Pine Trail netbook machine you all should be expecting, with this wide glossy 10.1-inch display, powered by Intel’s Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, 9 hours of  battery life and Windows 7 Starter edition to handle things around – this ain’t new, we’ve already seen it before, right?  That been said, a closer look at this thin-n-slim Seashell formed laptop  device would likely change your minds. Why, you’re asking? It’s that stunning carbon-fiber coat that tops the cover lid, all the way down, granting the 1001PX a nice premium look, rather than a fingerprints magnet hood that would ridiculously cost ‘ya only $299 (or $20 less in case you’re more into the old fashioned XP style).

Neofonie WePad Android Slate Announced

Not sure if anyone has already made a movie called “The Slate Attack”, but reality, on the other hand, proves that every day. The latest contender within this realm is Neofonie’s Android-based WePad, which apparently boasts netbook specs inside and 11.6-inch HD compatible (1366 x 768) touchscreen from the outside. And to be more specific, for a nondisclosure price you’d get yourself a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, paired with two USB ports, a built-in webcam, UMTS modem, a flash card reader, Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics accelerator, and up to 6 hours of battery support. Besides that, If we’d take Neofonie words seriously, then mind you there’s a WePad app store on the prep, that will join the already exists Google Android Market place when this slate comes out officially somewhere this fall.

Samsung N150, N210 and N510 Atom N450 Netbooks Announced In Israel

We’ve already had a chance to get a glimpse of Samsung’s new Pine Trail lineup couple months ago, but today it finally gets official in Israel with three netbooks on the stake, as the first one, the N150 which suppose to target the mid-end market, includes an HD compatible 10.1-inch LED display along  Intel’s Atom N450 processor, 6-cell battery that can deliver up to 8.5 hours of working life, AnyPC technology which ensures faster network connection  and myriad of colorful lids coated with a special protective layer that resists scratches and fingerprint smudges. Next model is the N210 which seems to have that same 10.1-inch LED display inside, paired with a battery, claimed to work up to 12 hours(!) in one single charge, 802.11 b/g/n wireless connection, PC To PC app that ease file sharing between laptops, and that special crystal cover on top in order to protect from scratches and finger marks. And last but not least, the most powerful one out of the three, the N510 (we’ve mentioned in two occasions) which boasts that same protective crystal layer, but also packs a wide 11.6-inch LED HD display, power by Nvidia ION graphics accelerator under the hood, tucked with dual 3W SRS 3D speakers, 3 x USB 2.0 ports with one that can charge different gadgets directly, a nice chiclet keyboard, only 1.46 kg weight and battery that would drain out after 7 hours of continuous work. Prices and availability haven;t been disclosed.

Samsung’s Go N315 Netbook To Get a Pine Trail Flavor

Samsung has already managed to catch our attention a year ago when first released its slick and lavish netbooks lineup, known as the Go series. But things, as you may know, change pretty fast these days and technology that appeared to be new and updated back then is no longer relevant. And going into the nitty gritty things, last year it was the Atom N270 that has shined and today it’s the Pine Trail flavor (AKA: Atom N450) that rise, and Samsung wise, we have the Go N315 machine that was recently released with no surprise. Price is at $429 which makes it a bit expensive if you want us to categorize, but still packs the latest specs and components we expected it would comprise. That includes the Atom N450 CPU, 1GB of RAM, Windows 7 Starter and Intel’s GMA 1350 graphics, that plays HD videos smooth at any size.

Sony Vaio M Netbook Series Pops Up In The Wild

Well, this one came out of the blue with no official announcement, but a fairly reasonable cause. It’s Sony’s latest M series netbook which suppose to replace the Vaio W series with more updated specs but pretty much the same feel and looks. From what we know so far (and there’s not much to say), It would boast a 10.1 1024×600 16:10 LED display, jammed with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, a built-in webcam and Intel’s new GMA 3150 graphics accelerator. As of today, there’s still no word about price or availability, but hey – we promise to deliver, once they get to our hands.

Update1: Netbooknews says it would run for $349 euros either in Black or Silver flavors. In addition, it suppose to include Windows 7 Starter and a 6 cell battery pack onboard.

Update2: The Vaio M is all set for a European April launch, with UK prices starting at £300 (around $455) for basic specs, mentioned above.

Update3: Did we say set and ready? It’s now official, the Vaio M that is. Similar specs and same prices as noted before.

LG Takes The Wraps Off X140 and X200 Atom N450 Netbooks

The Pine Trail procession seems to go even further, with LG to join the marchers by uncovering two Atom N450 netbooks, X140 and X200, both to run Windows 7 Starter onboard. The X140 is claimed to include basic specs like 1GB of RAM, a 10.1 1024×600 display, a 160GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, optional 3G modem and a 6 cell battery, while the more advanced version, X200 will presumably house a more updated components such as Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics, 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, Bluetooth, 802.11n Wi-Fi and a 10.1-inch display, this time with 1366 x 768 HD resolution support. Availability and prices are still undetermined, but suppose to surface at the CeBIT show, next week.

Asus Eee PC T101MT Netbook With Swivel-Touchscreen Unveiled

It’s been a while since we’ve last seen a tablet netbook from Asus, but thanks to the FCC division we’re finally getting a chance to see their new and latest swivel-enabled ultra-portable mate, the Eee PC T101MT, which crams a 10.1-inch 1024 x 768 resistive multitouch display along with 160GB or 320GB capacities at your choice, 1.6GHz Atom N450 CPU, Windows 7, up to 2GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 connection, 0.3 mp webcam and a battery that can deliver up to 6.5 hours of work time. Ports list includes a VGA output, SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader, three USB hubs and Ethernet jack, tucked into black or white body flavors. Still no world about price or availability but be sure we’re here to update as soon as they come. Meanwhile, hit the jump to see some video tutorials.

Update1: We’ve added yet another hands-on video to ease your decisions whether to get Asus’ latest greatest Eee PC T101MT Tablet or just move forward to some other versions available in the market. Acer Aspire One 532G Introduced, First Netbook To Accommodate Nvidia Ion 2 Graphics

This one has definitely caught us by surprise, but this time we’re more than willing to accept it and many others in that same sphere. The event is the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, the brand, Acer and the product is Aspire One 532G (not to be confused with the 532h although they share the same design), which happens to be world’s first netbook to pack a discrete Nvidia Ion 2 graphics accelerator, which comes paired with a switchable (and less powerful) Intel GMA 3150 GPU which clearly indicates that Acer will most probably be using Nvidia’s new auto switching technology, AKA Optimus, in its coming ultra-portable series. Under the lid it appears to have an up-to-date lineup, including a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor, along with 2GB of RAM, a whopping 320GB hard drive, an HDMI output and a 10-inch HD display – impressive, isn’t it? In any case it is due to go out in March for a non disclosure price. Hands on video and PR blurbs right after the break.

Update1: And looks like Acer kept its promise and despite top-notch specs, prices remain competitive. How much? 379 euros for European heroes and we’re guessing $379 Stateside. Stay tuned.

Update2: Looks like Acer’s 10-inch 532G netbook device, the one that suppose to include Nvidia ION II inside, is no longer in plans (at least for now) due to technical issues with NVIDIA and Acer drivers. Bummer! But we’re still waiting…

FIC Atom N450 SVE00 Netbook Introduced

CES 2010 is over, but that as a fact doesn’t mean release frequency of Pineview-based netbooks has necessarily slowed down. On the contrary, it  probably grown even more lately. And one that already made its way out, with no a price tag mentioned, is FIC’s Atom N450 SVE00, a 10.1-inch netbook which sports Windows 7 OS, running Intel’s latest 1.66GHz Atom CPU, together with 1GB of RAM, either 500GB HDD or 32GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA connectivity, and last but not least, WiMax support. Impressive lineup, isn’t it?

HP Blasts With Mini 5102 Netbook, Cramming Atom N450 And Optional Capacitive Touchscreen Under The Lid

Remember the Mini 5101 that HP released 6 months ago to target high-end customers with business related aspirations? Turns out it’s not alone – as a matter of fact it has a new twin brother that carries the title Mini 5102. The latest, which belongs to the growing Pine Trail family, packs inside an Atom N450 processor along a 10-inch display, offered with a WSVGA or WXGA panels. But as a premium portable device, one can guess it boasts a lot more than usual. What else is new? We’re talking about a Broadcom HD video accelerator, added to the pile, while keyboard is at 95% from the regular one. Besides that you can toss inside any possible operating system available, either it’s FreeDOS, SUSE Linux, Windows XP or Windows 7 Starter/Premium editions. Battery wise, you can choose between 4-cell and 6-cell flavors, but the most attractive alternative, marked as optional, is that super cool capacitive (multitouch) touchscreen which turns that netbook into a tablet (well, not exactly, but you know what I mean). It ain’t going to be cheap, boys and girls, but we still can;t tell how much and when. PR words added after the break.

Update1: Apparently, the Mini 5102 cover is made out of a stunning brushed aluminum plate and the chassis hides an optional handle for ‘A-grades’ students. Checkout the hands-on video the good people at engadget just shared.

Asus Takes the Wraps Off a New Eee PC 1008P Netbook

We’ve already seen that Eee PC 1008P, coated with alligator patterns upside down, back in December 2009. At that time, we were told it would be branded as a “Seashell 2” edition, but now, when it’s officially out, we know for sure it’s a Pine Trail netbook, packing Atom N450 processor inside. Designed by Karim Rashid, the hot pink/coffee brown machine runs a Windows 7 Home Premium under a 10.1-inch hood, which also hides within 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics, 1.3MP camera, and a cool swappable 3-cell battery, providing up to 6 hours life. That’s why we were a bit surprised to find that Haleron’s slick iLet slate includes one – Atom N450 processor, that is. But the Mio iLet is not just a CPU stellar, it also boasts some great components inside, amongst you can track a 10-inch 1024 x 600 multitouch display, paired with a 160GB HDD, 802.11a/b/g WiFi, optional 3G connectivity, GPS antenna and bigger hard drive, for extra $50/$75/$260 bucks, respectively – while basic pack starts at $419 only. And to spice things up, you also get, for that starting price, a Windows 7 system to speed the touch. Shipping starts in about a week from now.

Samsung's New Atom N450 Lineup Includes N210, N220, N150 and NB30 netbooks

It’s Samsung’s turn to officially come out and introduce its latest Pine Trail Atom N450 lineup (although we’ve already seen the N220 across the pond) which includes the N210, N220, N150 and NB30 netbooks – all to include Intel’s Atom N450 processor, together with a a 10.1-inch anti-reflective display and a very unique mark-and-scratch resistant casing , to protect your netbook from dirt and smudges. Other than that, what makes this new series so special is the battery life, that somehow manages to surprise with long working life for every single charge. The N210 and 220 versions are claimed to reach 12 hours of “connected mobility”, while the NB30 will get you up to 11 hours and the N150 “only” 8.5 hours. Three out of the four netbooks don’t have an integrated hinge at the far end of the chassis, but the N150 does have one. As the NB30 is the only machine that includes HDD protection sensor and a water-resistive coat (up to 50cc) – just in case, you know. PR announcement after the break.

Toshiba’s NB series is one of the best you can find today in the netbooks category, no doubt, and to be sure you’d still get the latest technology available, the company has updated its lineup with the new Mini NB305 edition, which already showed up online and suppose to hit the street on January 12 with full size keyboard and and 11 hours of battery life. Yes, it packs an Atom N450 processor inside, but also includes a 250GB hard drive along a 10.1-inch backlit LED display, 1GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth V2.1, that 6-cell battery with 11 hours longevity and only 2.6 lbs weight. Toshiba will offer this netbook in two major configurations, as the first one comes with a chiclet keyboard and a premium design, available either in brown, white or blue and runs for $400, while second alternative has a black flavor and regular keys that will cost you only $350. Well, well what do we have in here…Looks like Acer just joined the rapidly growing Pine Trail family, with yesterday’s announcement of Aspire One AO532h netbook, which boasts that same Intel Atom N450 processor in a slick 10-inch display body. For the record, we’ve already heard about it only few weeks ago when a list of new Acer machines abruptly emerged from the company’s driver page – but this time it’s official. And looking at the new device, gives you the feeling that Acer has tossed a more updated design inside, although it kept this traditional up-to-date lineup which includes Intel’s GMA 1350 graphics, paired with 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, Windows 7 Starter and a 4,400 mAh 6-cell battery, providing 10 hours of life. Care for price and availability? It would cost ya only $299 when it becomes available in the coming weeks. ASUS Eee PC 1001P Gets The Atom N450 Treatment, Lacks Windows 7

It looks like Asus wants to make it harder and harder to decide which netbook should be better for us to buy. And after the company already announced the 1005P/1005PE Pine Trail netbooks which suppose to be released somewhere around mid-January, it now releases for pre-orders the Eee PC 1001P that boasts exactly the same 1.6GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU, but includes only Windows XP preloaded inside, instead of the popular newcomer, Windows 7 Starter. Besides that single core Atom processor, the new portable clamshell-style machine will also include a 10.1-inch 1024 × 600 display, along Intel’s GMA3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a 0.3-MP webcam, WiFi, Mic and a 4400 mAh battery. Amazon.de has it listed for your pre-orders at €249 (about $360) and shipping is set to the 3rd week of 2010. No signs for US appearance at this point.

Update: Looks like Amazon US finally adds the Asus 1001P to its netbook listing with that same specs mentioned up, for $339.99.

So, Samsung finally gets its Pine Trail version out to the market, as the N220 Atom N450-based netbook surprisingly shows up in France with a fair specs lineup that includes a 10.1-inch display along Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, 250GB HDD, WiFi, Bluetooth, a built-in webcam and a 6-cell battery inside. Operating system? You’ve guessed right, it’s Microsoft’s Windows 7 Starter, preloaded into that green glossy flavored machine, and price accordingly, around 350 euros, or about $500 when it lands Stateside.

HP Mini 210 Loaded With Pine Trail CPU Breaks Into The Online Shops (Update: Joining Mini 2101 And Compaq 201 Lineup)

Details scarce at the moment, but HP officially joins the Pine Trail pond, with its latest Mini 210 netbook which has recently appeared on various online retailers, like eCost, and suppose to replace the previous and popular Mini 110. From what we know, the new 210 version is expected to go live in five different color variations, matte silver with pattern, matte black with pattern, sonoma red, pacific blue or solid black, and suppose to include a 10.1-inch flush glass display, along that trendy 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor, the new Intel GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 160 or 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n wifi connection, 5-in-1 card reader, 3-cell/6-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter edition preloaded inside – all priced at $321 for basic package and up to $399 with some optional upgrades. Update1: Turns out the Mini 210 wasn’t the only Pine Trail netbook that HP has issued. And besides that Mini 210 we’ve mentioned in here and the 5102, released to premium users, the company has also announced the Mini 2101 and the Compaq 201, both to include 10-inch displays, Island style keyboard and Broadcom Crystal HD accelerators. However, while the Mini 2101 is priced at $399 and packs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM and Windows 7 Starter, its sibling, the Compaq 201 runs for only $229, but has the good old Atom N270 processor,paired with 1GB of RAM and Windows 7 Starter. Update2: And looks like HP’s new Mini 210 now gets a Vivienne Tam edition to its repertoire, packing that same butterflies patch we’ve seen on previous versions, that was initially inspired by Chinese love story “Butterfly Lovers”. And to justify the whopping $600 price, HP has updated the Mini 210 internal package with a nice golden keyboard, hiding Beats by Dr. Dre audio software underneath and some other cool goodies on top of that – still not persuasive enough to spend so much, if you’re asking us. MSI Wind U160 Is All Set For a CES Glory With $350 Tag And Atom N450 Inside

For a start, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the readers who washed themselves in the Pine Trail rain we’ve been pouring over their heads lately. At this point, it’s just hard to ignore the flow of devices that sprout out with Intel’s new platform planted deep in their bowels – and looking at the growing list, it ain’t going to stop. And if you’ve been asking yourself where exactly is MSI in that Atom N450 flood, you’re only few words from getting the dope – as the Chinese corp announces its decent representant, a 10.1-inch Wind U160 netbook, that carries an MSI chop. It suppose to make a debut at the CES, in January, with that same Pine View processor we just mentioned and a good looking lid on top – I mean seriously, where did they take that stunning hinge from, Sony Vaio or what? In any case, the company claims for a 10 hours battery and a $350 starting price, when this thing goes live – so lets hope.

Update1: We’ve added the hands-on video, taken out of the CES show, courtesy of engadget. As you can see, the Wind U160 comes with a Windows 7 Starter edition which handles a 250GB hard drive, 6-cell battery, a chicklet keyboard and 1GB of RAM – all priced for $399. Sony Vaio, watch behind you.

Update2: And looks like MSI’s Wind U160 netbook is up on sale at Newegg and Buy.com for $380, with Atom N450 inside and 14 hours of claimed battery life.

Fujitsu 10.1-inch MH380 Netbook Joins The Pine Trail Marsh

“All roads lead to Rome” says the sentence – in our case they lead to Vegas, where the CES show is about to start in few weeks from now. But before we get there, here’s another Pine Trail contender, this time from Japanese corp Fujitsu that officially announces the Atom N450-based MH380 netbook, which was approved by the FCC a month ago and suppose to include a 10.1-inch 1366×768 screen, along 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, 1.3MP webcam and a 6-cell battery, claimed to provide up to 7.5 hours of work time. Besides that, this beautiful machine, combined of Brown, Ivory White and Black Diamond flavors, boasts an integrated scroll wheel nob which seats on top of the keyboard surface, few inches from that usual trackpad floor. Regretfully, we’re still lack of info how this new motion scrolling dot will actually affect the price, but with a Windows 7 Starter edition already preloaded onboard, it’s surely going to cost a lot.

Update1: Netbooked now updates that Fujitsu’s MH380 will run for $449 and will go live “somewhere next month” (remember that?). In any case, official announcement is half past the break.

Update2: As promised, Fujitsu’s new Pine trail based netbook, also known as MH380 is up and available on the company’s website for your orders, priced, as we’ve already mentioned, at $449.

Asus 1005P And 1005PE Seashell Netbooks Announced, Both To Include Atom N450 CPUs Inside

Not that anyone was getting surprised reading it – but for those of you who were disconnected from RSS feeds lately, and deprived themselves of glancing at any tech news, mind you that a second set of  Intel Pine Trail platform is about to hit the netbooks scene, and should be out at any moment. And Taiwanese corp Asus, to be one of the first to unveil its latest state-of-the-art lineup, which apparently includes two Eee PC Seashell machines, both pack Intel’s 1.66GHz Atom N450 “Pineview” CPUs (45-nanometer), as the first one, Eee PC 1005P, houses a 160GB hard drive, basic 6-cell Li-ion battery and matte 10-inch 1024×768 LED backlit screen, while the second, Eee PC 1005PE, comes with a bigger, 250GB HDD, stronger 6-cell Li-ion battery, more powerful Intel GMA 3150 graphics and that same size 10-inch display, only with a glossy panel integrated inside. The two, will be offered either in Black or White flavors, at the time they will be released – January 11th – priced at £211 ($345) and £235 ($380), respectively. Aspire One 532 Netbook Shows Up In Acer's Lists, Boasts Pine Trail Processor On Board

A whole  slew of Pine Trail netbooks coming to CES 2010, next month in Vegas – that we already know. But the fact that Acer has sneaked into its lineup lists an ultra-portable machine of that series, is relatively new. The newcomer, Aspire One 532, packs an Atom N450 processor (Pine Trail platform), along 1GB RAM, 5-in-1 card reader, a 10.1-inch 1280 x 720 display, Windows 7 Starter edition, and either 160GB or 250GB HDD capacities to pick at your choice. Price tag remains reasonable and stands at 299 Euros, as you get to choose between Blue, Black, Red or Silver flavors to cover your coat.

Update: Basic specs include a 3-cell battery, but you can upgrade to the 6-cell version for extra cash.
