First Details About Google's Chrome OS Netbook Specs Unveiled

Truth is that holidays season can be very boring, tech wise, but here’s something that might catch your eye during this time of quiescency, as latest news apparently indicate the first netbook to include Google’s Chrome OS platform will presumably boast some nifty specs inside like NVIDIA’s Tegra chipset for graphics handling and Arm-based processor, instead of Intel’s popular Atom flavor. Other than that, the rumor suggests it would pack a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 720 resolution with multi-touch display(!), along 2GB of RAM, 64GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, an integrated webcam and 3G connectivity module. Battery is claimed to offer 4 or 6-cells versions while buyers will be able to pick an optional GPS system as part of the deal, which suppose to be very attractive and stand at somewhere below $300. Stay tuned for a lot more to come.

Update: We hear that Google will be selling those netbooks directly. More on that, hopefully soon. Still, no official confirmation from Mountain View to these rumors.

HP Mini 210 Loaded With Pine Trail CPU Breaks Into The Online Shops (Update: Joining Mini 2101 And Compaq 201 Lineup)

Details scarce at the moment, but HP officially joins the Pine Trail pond, with its latest Mini 210 netbook which has recently appeared on various online retailers, like eCost, and suppose to replace the previous and popular Mini 110. From what we know, the new 210 version is expected to go live in five different color variations, matte silver with pattern, matte black with pattern, sonoma red, pacific blue or solid black, and suppose to include a 10.1-inch flush glass display, along that trendy 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor, the new Intel GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 160 or 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n wifi connection, 5-in-1 card reader, 3-cell/6-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter edition preloaded inside – all priced at $321 for basic package and up to $399 with some optional upgrades. Update1: Turns out the Mini 210 wasn’t the only Pine Trail netbook that HP has issued. And besides that Mini 210 we’ve mentioned in here and the 5102, released to premium users, the company has also announced the Mini 2101 and the Compaq 201, both to include 10-inch displays, Island style keyboard and Broadcom Crystal HD accelerators. However, while the Mini 2101 is priced at $399 and packs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM and Windows 7 Starter, its sibling, the Compaq 201 runs for only $229, but has the good old Atom N270 processor,paired with 1GB of RAM and Windows 7 Starter. Update2: And looks like HP’s new Mini 210 now gets a Vivienne Tam edition to its repertoire, packing that same butterflies patch we’ve seen on previous versions, that was initially inspired by Chinese love story “Butterfly Lovers”. And to justify the whopping $600 price, HP has updated the Mini 210 internal package with a nice golden keyboard, hiding Beats by Dr. Dre audio software underneath and some other cool goodies on top of that – still not persuasive enough to spend so much, if you’re asking us. Averatec Takes Wraps Off HS-105 Netbook, Skips The Pine Trail Party

Call it recession, or maybe old fashion, but some companies, like Averatec, have apparently decided to skip Intel’s Pine Trail bandwagon at the moment, and walk with those good old N270 chaps, at the time where other brands already showing off their latest Atom N450 ware, upon request. So for all of you conservative users out there, Averatec’s HS-105 netbook can be the right solution before 2009 ends. Besides its impressive design, you get yourself, for a non-disclosure price, a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, paired with Intel’s integrated 945GSE graphics, a 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display, 2GB of RAM, 1.3MP webcam and either 160GB or 250GB storage drives at your choice. Availability is considered enigma at this point, we hope to get the missing parts before an Atom N800 goes live.

MSI Wind U160 Is All Set For a CES Glory With $350 Tag And Atom N450 Inside

For a start, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the readers who washed themselves in the Pine Trail rain we’ve been pouring over their heads lately. At this point, it’s just hard to ignore the flow of devices that sprout out with Intel’s new platform planted deep in their bowels – and looking at the growing list, it ain’t going to stop. And if you’ve been asking yourself where exactly is MSI in that Atom N450 flood, you’re only few words from getting the dope – as the Chinese corp announces its decent representant, a 10.1-inch Wind U160 netbook, that carries an MSI chop. It suppose to make a debut at the CES, in January, with that same Pine View processor we just mentioned and a good looking lid on top – I mean seriously, where did they take that stunning hinge from, Sony Vaio or what? In any case, the company claims for a 10 hours battery and a $350 starting price, when this thing goes live – so lets hope.

Update1: We’ve added the hands-on video, taken out of the CES show, courtesy of engadget. As you can see, the Wind U160 comes with a Windows 7 Starter edition which handles a 250GB hard drive, 6-cell battery, a chicklet keyboard and 1GB of RAM – all priced for $399. Sony Vaio, watch behind you.

Update2: And looks like MSI’s Wind U160 netbook is up on sale at Newegg and Buy.com for $380, with Atom N450 inside and 14 hours of claimed battery life.

Fujitsu 10.1-inch MH380 Netbook Joins The Pine Trail Marsh

“All roads lead to Rome” says the sentence – in our case they lead to Vegas, where the CES show is about to start in few weeks from now. But before we get there, here’s another Pine Trail contender, this time from Japanese corp Fujitsu that officially announces the Atom N450-based MH380 netbook, which was approved by the FCC a month ago and suppose to include a 10.1-inch 1366×768 screen, along 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, 1.3MP webcam and a 6-cell battery, claimed to provide up to 7.5 hours of work time. Besides that, this beautiful machine, combined of Brown, Ivory White and Black Diamond flavors, boasts an integrated scroll wheel nob which seats on top of the keyboard surface, few inches from that usual trackpad floor. Regretfully, we’re still lack of info how this new motion scrolling dot will actually affect the price, but with a Windows 7 Starter edition already preloaded onboard, it’s surely going to cost a lot.

Update1: Netbooked now updates that Fujitsu’s MH380 will run for $449 and will go live “somewhere next month” (remember that?). In any case, official announcement is half past the break.

Update2: As promised, Fujitsu’s new Pine trail based netbook, also known as MH380 is up and available on the company’s website for your orders, priced, as we’ve already mentioned, at $449.

Dell's New Inspiron Mini 10 Comes With Atom N450 CPU And Optional Broadcom Crystal HD Accelerator

Intel’s Pine Trail platform is live, kicking and ready to go. The latest introduction of that series comes from Dell and its Inspiron Mini 10 which is now reported to include the Atom N450 processor, which suppose to give a little boost to that Windows 7 Starter the netbook runs. Besides that, for a starting price of $299 you should see basic specs like 10.1-inch 1024×600 display,160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM and 3-cell battery, all packed under that same slick and squarish hood. However, for extra charge you’re being offered – and whether or not you want to accept it’s up to you – to enhance your experience with a 1366 x 768 display, a six-cell battery, producing 9.5 hours work time in one single charge, four shiny colors, Bluetooth, WWAN, GPS, TV tuner and a strong Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator for flawless high-def chime – that would probably cost you few hundreds dollar more, but should be worth a try. Asus 1005P And 1005PE Seashell Netbooks Announced, Both To Include Atom N450 CPUs Inside

Not that anyone was getting surprised reading it – but for those of you who were disconnected from RSS feeds lately, and deprived themselves of glancing at any tech news, mind you that a second set of  Intel Pine Trail platform is about to hit the netbooks scene, and should be out at any moment. And Taiwanese corp Asus, to be one of the first to unveil its latest state-of-the-art lineup, which apparently includes two Eee PC Seashell machines, both pack Intel’s 1.66GHz Atom N450 “Pineview” CPUs (45-nanometer), as the first one, Eee PC 1005P, houses a 160GB hard drive, basic 6-cell Li-ion battery and matte 10-inch 1024×768 LED backlit screen, while the second, Eee PC 1005PE, comes with a bigger, 250GB HDD, stronger 6-cell Li-ion battery, more powerful Intel GMA 3150 graphics and that same size 10-inch display, only with a glossy panel integrated inside. The two, will be offered either in Black or White flavors, at the time they will be released – January 11th – priced at £211 ($345) and £235 ($380), respectively. ViewSonic VNB102 ViewBook Goes Live Tommorow, But Back In Time

We’ve already seen Viewsonic’s Atom N280 VNB101 netbook, showing up in Taiwan five months ago, but that probably wasn’t enough, and now it seems the company is about to release a new one, which carries the consecutive name VNB102, and includes the very basic specs with Intel’s Atom N270 processor inside, along a 10-inch 1024×600 LED panel, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 802.11b/g WiFi and 6-cell battery, which lasts around 6 hours in one single charge. The operating system, on the other hand, is brand new – Windows 7 Starter – and that should do in order to collect $399 when this machine goes live on December 18, or in other words, tomorrow. Aspire One 532 Netbook Shows Up In Acer's Lists, Boasts Pine Trail Processor On Board

A whole  slew of Pine Trail netbooks coming to CES 2010, next month in Vegas – that we already know. But the fact that Acer has sneaked into its lineup lists an ultra-portable machine of that series, is relatively new. The newcomer, Aspire One 532, packs an Atom N450 processor (Pine Trail platform), along 1GB RAM, 5-in-1 card reader, a 10.1-inch 1280 x 720 display, Windows 7 Starter edition, and either 160GB or 250GB HDD capacities to pick at your choice. Price tag remains reasonable and stands at 299 Euros, as you get to choose between Blue, Black, Red or Silver flavors to cover your coat.

Update: Basic specs include a 3-cell battery, but you can upgrade to the 6-cell version for extra cash.

Smartbook AG To Launch Zenid GC Crystal, a Crystals-coated Netbook Priced Out Of Your Range

When we say the word “netbook”, we tend to think about a chip portable laptop, weighs around 1.4 kilos and packs some basic specs that suppose to handle most of our day-to-day tasks and even some more. But as you know, for every such edge there is an exceptional, and today it’s a very expensive one, coming from Smartbook AG, called Zenid GC, and completely covered in Swarovski crystals, top to bottom. In general, it’s just a regular Chinese ODM S40 netbook, which boasts a 10.2-inch WXGA LED screen, along 1.6GHz Intel Atom N280 processor, 2GB of RAM, built-in WiFi connection, a standard  Li-ion 2200mAh battery, and the rest of the stuff we already know – nothing that 299 Euros can’t buy you these days. But that model, in specific, is probably out of your shopping range, and its whopping price, which stands at 2,001 Euros (about $3000), sounds and feels bombastic thanks to its prestige cover, made out of those shiny Swarovski encrusted crystals, spread on the back. Think you’d buy this thing if you got yourself a huge bank account? Maybe. Only as a piece of furniture.

Litl 12.1-Inch Webbook Announced, Little Netbook For a Big Price

Think there are too many portable machines out there? Make a room for one brand more – this time from Litl – a Boston-based company, recently unleashed the Webbook “web computer” netbook, that looks somehow different and priced above the average. It comes with a 12.1-inch 1280×800 display, uniquely featuring an upside down flipped patented-pending hinge comprised with an integrated scrolling wheel, right on top (the blue button). In addition, for a whopping $699, you get a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, paired with 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g WiFi connection, USB 2.0 ports and HDMI output, pumping 720p from your family video shots. Storage capacity ridiculously stands at 2GB(!) only, but the platform for itself  – specially designed by Litl – is exclusive, and mainly shaped to serve as a web-optimized OS, with Flickr, Facebook, and Weather Channel widgets, perfectly displayed on the front. A tiny remote control is also included, as long as you pay $19 more, which bring us to our price rates index, that eloquently gives the Webbook a one big EXPENSIVE score.

Update: We’ve added a nice hands-on video from CES 2010, featuring Litl 12.1-inch Webbook in action. It looks great and works pretty well as a secondary device, targeted for multimedia or Web content users, but it won;t make you coffee in the morning, although it might wake you up with this cool animated alarm clock inside. Asus Debuts With 1005HE-WS And 1005HE-WS, New Windows 7 Starter Eee PC Netbooks

We knew it was just a matter of time until netbooks would eventually show up with Windows 7 bundled inside, and now that Microsoft’s superb operating system is officially up – looks like Redmond’s moment of truth has finally come. The new Seashell style models the Taiwanese actively plan for a mid-November launch are the 1005HR-WS and 1005HE-WS, which both include a 10.1-inch display, along with an Atom N280 processor, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, a 0.3MP webcam and a 6-cell battery with up to 8.4 hours of working life. However, while the 1005HR-WS packs a WXGA platform (1366 x 768 resolution) and 250GB hard drive storage, its fellow, the 1005HE-WS, boasts a WSVGA flavor (whatever that means) and either 250GB HDD or 160GB HDD, to pick at your choice. Japan prices mention ¥49,800 ($545) for the “HR” edition, as “HE” buns will run for ¥46,800 ($510) or ¥44,800 ($490), depends on size.

Sony Vaio X Series Officially Announced, 11.1-Inch Display And 2GHz Intel Atom Processor Are In

It’s not a secret that Intel’s latest 2GHz Atom Processor is looking for new lavish netbooks to sit in, while making its way out to the market in the coming weeks. Now we’ve been told that Intel’s speedy CPU has finally found a fancy ultra-portable device to be accommodated, as Sony officially announces the Vaio X, an 11.1-inch netbook/notebook series that weighs only 1.6 pounds and made out of carbon-fiber materials. True, it ain’t going to be cheap, in fact you’ll have to pay a whopping $1499 – yes you’ve heard that right – one thousand four hundred and ninety nine dollars, that’s what you’ll be asked to shell out in order to get a slim Vaio X machine, including an Atom Z550 processor, tucked with an SSD drive, Windows 7  Home Premium edition, an integrated Verizon 3G slot and a 3.5-hour battery that is claimed to deliver up to 14 hours of work, in case you’re using the “super-extended” battery. Oh, and those of you who are crazy enough to buy one, will also receive a multitouch trackpad to flick and tap around – Duh.

Update: We’ve added an unboxing video of the Vaio X, made by the NewGadgets people, who were kind enough to share their first preview shots among the interweb geeks. In this video, you can see how thin the X series is and why Sony keeps hitting us with top notch machines. Truth to be told, price tag isn’t so friendly in this case, but that’d probably apply to many other products with such a lucrative design. Kohjinsha Dual-screen Netbook Concept Is For Real (Update: Now On sale)

Well, we didn’t expect this one, but it seems you can find whatever you want at the CEATEC show, that takes place in Japan these days. The object you’re looking at was recently spotted at the Kohjinsha tech booth by Akihabaranews team and seems to boast the “prototype” status at the moment. Besides that, Kohjinsha’s futuristic model packs two 10.1-inch TFT LCD screens at either 1024 x 600 or 1366 x 768 resolution, and can be used jointly and severally. Other than that, you get inside a cool swiveling base, along with some strong specs that include an AMD Athlon MV-40 processor, paired with a 160GB hard drive, up to 4GB of RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium onboard. Regretfully, at this point, we have no price or release dates to share, but be sure we’ll be there to bring them on whenever they get shown.

Update1: It seems to happen faster than expected – as we now hear that Kohjinsha’s 10-inch dual-screen netbook goes on sale these days with a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo processor and RS780MN chipset onboard, both sitting next to an ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, a 3-in-1 card reader, 1.3MP webcam, 3 X USB hubs, WiFi, 1GB of RAM and same capacity drive, standing at 160GB of storage. Battery suppose to deliver up to 4.5 hours of work, while weight is surprisingly light for the overall package, 4.09 pounds (1.84 kg) only. Shipping is set to start 3 weeks from now, worldwide, as prices start with a ¥95,800 ($1,110) package that includes a Linux version, and climb up to ¥100,800 for the Windows 7 Home Premium flavor. Get it now if you need a portable multiple action in your hands.

Swordfish Net 102 Dual Netbook Released, Packs Two Atom Processors Inside

We’re not sure what it means in terms of performance, but Swordfish Net 102 Dual netbook device is claimed to have dual 1.6GHz Atom N270 processors inside (instead of a single one), seating under a 10.2-inch 1,024 x 600 display and hanging around a 160GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, a 1.3MP camera, optional WWAN and a weak, generic 3-cell battery which operates under a Windows XP OS. The entire system is now being offered either in black, yellow, red or silver flavors, while price tag stands at $449. HP Mini 311 ION-based Netbook Hits The Online Shelves

While most Nvidia ion-based netbooks are scheduled to go live at the end of this year, HP seems to be the one to take matters into its own hands and be the first to hit the scene with a graphics-boosted netbook device. The model we’re talking about is the Mini 311, which recently showed up on HP’s online shop with an HD compatible 11.6-inch (1,366 x 768) display, Atom N270 processor, an integrated 802.11b/g wireless LAN, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and built-in VGA and HDMI ports for external image use. Microsoft’s Windows XP stuffed inside to handle this powerful system, while a near-full-size (92%) keyboard, three USB hubs and Altec Lansing speakers are all part of the deal. Starting price looks pretty attractive, at $399, but any add-on will set you back an extra cash. Thus, an Atom N280, Bluetooth and 802.11n will charge you $25 each, while white flavors are listed for another $20 and 3G WWAN connection is set for $125 more. Nevertheless, we still think it’s a good bargain, especially when it runs a 720p flash video flawlessly. See for yourself after the break.

Update1: It’s not that we needed any further proof to make us believe that HP’s Mini 311 netbook is capable handling advanced high-def media files better than others, but just in case, here are some facts – risen from LaptopMag’s benchmark tests – to maintain our claims: on the PCMark 05, the 311 has scored 1,917 points, that’s 500 points above the average, while the PCMark 06 review has given the 311 a 1,386 score, which is  1,200 on top of the ordinary and just about the same score as a MacBook Air. Very impressive, isn’t it?

Update2: If you have any plans on getting one, the guys at MyHPMini discovered interesting details from HP’s service manual. In general, the 311 will soon be out in different Windows 7  versions, including Windows 7 Starter, Basic, Premium, and Professional flavors. Additionally, you’ll also get a chance to upgrade your netbook and stuff inside cool specs like:

  • NVIDIA ION, the FULL platform, only with Windows 7
  • 1GB RAM (plus 1GB on-board ram), total 2GB
  • 2GB RAM (plus the 1GB on-board), total 3GB
  • 80GB Solid-State-Drive (SSD)
  • 250GB Hard Drive, 5400rpm, only with Windows 7
  • 320GB Hard Drive, 5400rpm, only with Windows 7

Viliv S10 Tablet Netbook Shows Up, Swivel Touchscreen, Windows 7 and 10 Hours Battery Included (Update: Now Official)

We already know Viliv and the highly rated MIDs and UMPCs it makes, but even though, the Koreans won’t settle with scarce line of products and apparently these days, are showing off at IDF 2009, their new portable series which seems to include the S10, which looks like a new 10-inches tablet netbook device that technically packs 1,366 x 768 resistive swivel touchscreen, but also Intel’s Atom 1.33GHz or 2.0GHz processors (the 2.0GHz CPU isn’t available yet) and Windows 7 OS, the premium version. Besides that, Viliv lets you choose between 32 or 64GB SSDs (at 70MBps read rates), together with an optional 3G WWAN, 1GB of RAM, a 10 hours battery that runs at one single charge and a built-in webcam, probably a 1.3 megapixels one. Still no word when or where this White/Black hues unit suppose to go live (more likely around Q4 09), but starting price is claimed to stand at $500. Update1: Apparently, Viliv’s S10 tablet netbook just turned official. The 10.1 inch multitouch swivel screen, known as the Blade, integrates 4G mobile WiMAX and 3G HSPA connectivity inside. In addition, viliv has also launched the 4.8-inch clamshell MID, N5 which packs 3G and WiFi as well. PR after the break.

UMID's M2 Mini Netbook Device Sprouts Out Loud With Windows 7 Inside

Korean company UMID didn’t have much of a success when first launched its 4.8-inches M1 mini netbook version, a few months ago. But now, after finally fixing up some of the main issues that turned its first round somehow repelled, a new edition, which carries the name “M2” has risen up from the dark, and is now ready to be rolled out somewhere towards the end of the year, for a much cheaper price of $499 (instead of $765). First thing you’ll notice is the screen, that apparently flips out and turns widely open on the M2 (thanks to the new hinge), compared to its very angle-limited predecessor. This fact will help new M2 users hold the unit comfortably in their hands and type the keyboard in a more convenient way than previously done. Other thing you might be noticing, is the real USB port that was hooked to UMID’s M2 revamped chassis, which doesn’t necessarily require any dongles to connect. Besides that, the company has also integrated an optical mouse, that seats on front of the M2 bezel frame, while both left-right buttons were placed to the left. As for internal specs, you get to choose between 1.2 or 1.6GHz Intel Atom processors, which will presumably operate under the much expected Windows 7 OS and a larger 1GB of RAM. Other than that, UMID will probably stick to most of the parts, included in M1, but that’s for us to find out in the coming months. Update: Turns out UMID M2 is now known as Onkyo BX, but besides the re-branding process nothing substantial has really changed. It still has that Intel 1.2GHz Atom Z515 processor, along a 4.8-inch 1024 x 600 LCD, a 32GB SSD and 512MB of memory. Design remains the same as well, so does the price – ¥64,800, or $730. Asus ION-based Eee PC 1201N Netbook Surprisingly Makes Its Way Out In Asia (Update: Now Official Worldwide)

It’s only been three weeks, since our wondering eyes first came across Asus’ 120N Nvidia Ion-based netbook machine, hiding out in a much speculated Eee PC road map slide that popped out in the wild. And here we are, not so long after, talking about it as a certain thing, scheduled for release somewhere this Autumn with a $500 price tag range and a high resolution 12-inch panel (1,366 x 768). And if we’d all be speaking Chinese well, the 250GB hard drive that Asus has stuffed inside, sitting along with 2GB of RAM, Intel Atom N270 processor, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity, probably wouldn’t make us surprised – well, maybe this N270 CPU, which seems to be too slow for such an input. Stay tuned, it should be hitting Western shores, packed with a Windows 7 OS, in a month or so.

Update1: Look, the guys from Eee PC Italia just got their hands on Asus 1201N and 1201HA full specs list and shared them online. Basically, both netbook machines will presumably pack a 12-inch 1366 x 768 displays, while the 1201N, which suppose to be the strongest among the two, will include a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N330 dual core processor, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA ION (GeForce 9400M) graphics chipset and 320GB hard drive, as its entry level sibling, the 1201HA suppose to have a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU, along with Intel US15W / GMA 500 graphics, 2GB RAM and 250GB hard drive. Update2: Apparently, Asus Eee PC 1201N is scheduled to be released in Europe somewhere towards the end of the year (AKA: December), with this Atom Dual Core 330 CPU, Nvidia ION graphics chipset and a 12.1 1,366 x 768 display  – all compiled with a Windows 7 OS. Prices are yet to be determined.

Update3: Looks like the 1201N is up in Italy earlier than expected, offered on sale for 500 Euros – huzzah!

Update4: Now it’s official, as Asus has finally released its ION-based Eee PC 1201N machine, with all those nifty specs and cool features we’ve managed to see earlier, which include that 12.1-inch 1366 x 768 LED-backlit display, together with a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom 330 processor, either 2 or 3GB of RAM and storage capacity at 250 or 320GB HDD at your choice. Furthermore, you get a six-cell battery and Windows 7 Premium edition, already loaded aboard and running on your shelves somewhere around December for only $499. Update5: It seems the Eee PC 1201HA’s debut has finally arrived to the US, as Asus’ second 12.1-inch netbook, which sports a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520, together with 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi, and 6 hours battery, is up on sale on Best Buy, this time for the lower price of $329.99 but with an XP flavor pre-loaded inside. Seven fanboys should be skipping to the 1201N versionto catch up with Redmond’s latest version.

Update6: And, looks like Amazon has the Asus Eee PC 120N listed for pre-order, starting at $499 which will buy you a 12.1-inch display with Intel’s 1.6GHz N330 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM (up to 8GB), 250GB HDD, WiFi, Bluetooth and last but not least, Microsoft’s Windows 7 Premium edition, already loaded into it. For the UK readers out there, this same version, only with an ION-based chipset will show up on your local Amazon somewhere around January 2010, priced at £399 (about $660). Stay tuned.

Epson's Atom N280 Endeavor Na02 Mini-V Netbook Unveiled

In case you’re one of those people who look for one of those netbooks to set you up with the usual and non-pretentious specs, Epson just might be the firm that has the right solution. And with the company’s Endeavor Na01 mini, already well established around the unfamiliar netbook machines in town, it looks like another outlandish fellow is yet to join the batch. But hey, don’t you start developing highly expectations this time, since Epson’s Endeavor Na02 Mini-V is not much of a difference. In fact, it has just about the same things its ten-months-old predecessor boasts, only this new one also packs a 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor (instead of Atom N270), that seats right next to a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display, a multi-card reader, WiFi connectivity and all the usual ingredients you probably know. Price tag is already set for ¥39,800 (about $427), with a shipping date, scheduled for November.

ASUS Eee PC Roadmap Leaked: 12" Netbooks, Nvidia ION Platform And Tablet PC Devices On The Prep

Assuming these two following roadmap slides, that recently surfaced up on Eeeuser.com, are real, one should expect seeing a lot of intensive activity from Asus direction, in the coming months, as the Taiwanese corp apparently planning to retake over the jammed US netbooks market, by tossing inside some new and advanced mini-laptop devices, hoping to convince all those tech junkie spendthrifts open their empty wallets wide and buy themselves a piece or two. However, with so many cheap and reasonably “specs balanced” alternatives available around, Asus journey, getting to early adopters’ geeky hearts is probably longer and much harder than it may look on the ground. Nevertheless,  according to these latest treasure troves, found in the wild, In Q3 and Q4 of 2009, we’re going to be seeing a brand new 1005HA-P unit, packing a 250GB HDD, paired with Atom N280 processor and offered with optional Windows 7 OS that will set you back for $399, with shipping arrangements, expected to get started somewhere in October. Another “Seashell” like, upgraded version, is the 1005HA-M Atom N270 unit, that runs a Windows 7  Starter Edition flavor and has 250GB HDD storage – all priced at $349. More on that, is the all new 12-inch 1201N Eee PC netbook which will likely include NVIDIA’s latest Ion platform, sitting next to Intel’s Atom N270 processor, 250GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity, set and ready to transfer your relays for $499, sharp when it’s up for release in mid-October. And last but not least are these two models, the 1008HA netbooks that somehow dropped out from the list, and the T91 multi-touch tablet that runs a copy of Windows 7 OS as well, while storage capacity features 32GB SSD and price tag stands at $549. Coby's New Netbooks Lineup Surfaces Up On Amazon With No Glamor

The moment you were thinking you’ve seen them all, another company has joined the netbooks pond. This time it’s Comby that officially unveils two mini-laptop models which recently showed up on Amazon for pre-order, as the first version, Coby NMPC1220XPBLK, comes with a 12.1-inch display, together with traditional specs, including Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive, while second device, Coby NBPC1022XPBLK, is a 10-inch machine that literally packs the same traits like its elder brother, only for less the price. And speaking about prices, Coby’s new netbook devices will set you back for $423 and $318, respectively. Too bad they’re only being offered in this fugly Gray hues.

Nokia's First 3G Booklet Netbook Introduced, Comes With GPS, HDMI And SIM Slot Expansion

We’re already used to names like Asus, Toshiba, LG, Lenovo, Samsung and MSI when speaking about netbooks, but hey, look who’s here – it’s Nokia – who tries to make its first steps within this arena, by distinguishing itself from others with a brand new booklet device that packs some very cool specs, including the usual Atom processor, paired with an SD card reader and integrated Bluetooth connection, but also with some unique and advanced features like built-in A-GPS (works with OVI Maps), 3G/HSPA broadband, SIM card slot, an HDMI output, n module WiFi connectivity and 10.1-inch high-def resolution display, to run your entire video depository, sharply. Surprisingly, the 2.75 pounds (1.25 kg) ultra-portable aluminum chassis is claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of battery usage (impressive!), while colors wise, it has Black, White and Turquoise flavors to offer. Unfortunately, there’s no word on price or availability at this early stage, but we promise to update as soon as any relevant info pops out. Until then, hit the break and watch the videos.

Update1: Looks like Nokia’s new Booklet machine will boast a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530, paired with a 120GB hard drive and integrated 3G connectivity. Price wise, it will set you back for somewhere around $799, but these are just rumors.

Update2: More details about Nokia’s Booklet 3G netbook device start surfacing up above the ground and shedding more light on this cool and expensive Finnish wonder. Apparently, Nokia’s new mini-laptop device is claimed to be shipped with that 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor we’ve been talking about earlier, while battery’s longevity was also confirmed – 12 hours working time, with Windows 7 running the entire operation and SIM card slot, added as well, to handle all 3G communication. Other than that, you get to choose from black, ice (white) and azure (blue) colors, all measured at 0.78-inches thick frame that includes 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 120GB hard drive, a 10.1-inch LCD (1,280 x 720 resolution), integrated GPS navigating system paired with Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, an SD card reader, three USB 2.0 ports and even an HDMI connection. Release dates are yet to be determined, but with staggering price that stand at €570 ($810), seems like no one will actually be waiting for it outside.

Update3: Nokia’s Italian online store has it now, up for pre-order, but the price is even higher than expected, as the 3G Booklet netbook is listed there for €699 ($1,021 USD), which apparently includes VAT and some other increment. Too bad, and ridiculous if we may add.

Update4: We’re not sure either it’s Greece or some other languages, but the new unboxing video, which can be found right after the break, is definitely one of the first ones that shows Nokia’s new 3G Booklet machine live.

Update5: According to Nokia itself, the Booklet 3G is about to hit O2 Germany in two different flavors, as first one, O2 MyHandy package, is being offered with a one time fee of €249 and a monthly tariff of €20 over the next 24 months, while the second,  O2 wireless deal is €25 a month, including the service price, two years sharp. Not exactly the best bargain around.

Update6: We’re getting there. AT&T is one carrier that will offer Nokia’s highly-priced 3G Booklet for “just” $299 with a 2-year contract and a $60 monthly fee. Someone’s getting affordable, eh?

LG X-Note Mini X130 Netbook Announced, Sports Up To 12 Hours Battery

Korean giant LG announces another X-Note netbook edition, this time it’s the Mini X130, which apparently looks pretty much similar to previous versions, only with a 9-cell battery that can deliver up to 12 hours of working hours and up to 7 and a half hours of video playback – very cool, isn’t it? And while price tag stands on 789,000 Won ($639), you might consider getting one either in Black, White, or Pink colors, the company offers. Battery aside, the new X130 boasts the usual specs, including a 10-inch 1024 x 600 display, along with a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, 802.11 b / g / n WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR support, and the standard Windows XP OS onboard. Samsung's ION-based N510 Netbook Is Up For a Pre-Order In Europe

While anxiously waiting for ION-based netbooks to finally show up in the market, Korean giant, Samsung, has already made it available for a pre-order, with its latest N510 netbook machine, which is expected to go live in Europe somewhere around September, priced at €499 (about $718), packing  an 11.6-inch 1 366 x 768 display, along with Atom N280 processor, 6.5 hours battery NVIDIA’s ION chipset, paired with 9400M graphics, to handle 1080p high-def videos smoothly. Other specs include expandable 1GB of RAM, 1.3 megapixels webcam, 3 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output, WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR,  3 in 1 card reader slot and  160GB SATA II HDD. Update1: Apparently, Samsung’s desirable N510 ION-based netbook  will make its way Stateside somewhere around September for a whopping price of $599. Sometimes, you have to pay to be one of the first, experiencing top-notch technologies, eh?

ViewSonic's Atom N280 VNB101 Netbook Shows Up in Taiwan

Surprisingly, non of us has actually seen a lot of netbooks action from ViewSonic, but clearly it was just a matter of time until the company will take first steps into this crowded market, and it finally did, with recent announcement, indicating a new VNB101 machine that suppose to include Intel’s Atom N280 processor, along with a 10.2-inch 1024×600 display, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, a 3400mAh Lithium-Polymer battery, an optional 3G SIM card hub and either red, black or champagne colors to choose from – All priced around $485 in Taiwan. Update: Viewsonic has also released an entry level netbook, the VNB100, which is an Atom-based device, paired with similar specs like its VNB101 sibling, with optional ExpressCard slot and built-in 3G modem. NEC VersaPro VS-7 netbook Gets a Closer Look In Japan

NEC’s super slim Atom Z540 (1.84GHz) VersaPro VS-7  netbook has already made its Japanese debut somewhere in May, but only now gets a closer look, as Akihabara News has taken it for a first ride, coming back full of superlatives about “flawless” HD video the machine can deliver and “freaking light” design the device weights (725g). Other than that, it boasts 64GB of SSD, a 10.6-inch 1208 x 768 screen display, 1GB of RAM to smoothly handle everything that runs,  three USB slots, Ethernet port and of course, a whopping  price of ¥176,000 ($1,850), which pretty well suits price tags from the “Land of the Rising Sun”. Point Of View Sets To Release Mobii 230 Netbook With ION Chipset And Vivid Flavors

We all know how much you’ve been anxiously waiting for Nvidia ION to start showing up inside netbook machines, boosting your HD capabilities to maximum level. Now, add yourself some crazy colors on top of it and get a Point Of View Mobii 230 netbook, packed  with a surprising Atom N230 processor (that mostly appears on nettops), together with a 10.2-inch 1024X600 display, an HDMI output, 1GB of RAM and 160GB HDD – All given a European price tag of €349 ($495). And when the company states our 1080p videos will surely run without stuttering and that DirectX 10 plus Shader Model 4.0 support are both included, a few more weeks of anticipation looks like a nerve racking.

Google Chrome OS Announced, Will Be available In 2010

Google has just thrown a bomb to the IT world, announcing a new Chrom OS platform that suppose to give an open-source solution mainly for netbooks but also for full-size desktop systems, and is expected to go live somewhere on the second half of 2010. Additionally, the new OS from Mountain View, CA is claimed to smoothly run any x86 and ARM chips, while the company firmly says it already teamed up with manufacturers like Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments to bring you all the best and comprehensive UI you’d get, so stay tuned for a lot more to come. Here’s what Google’s blog had to say, in a nutshell:

“Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.”

Sony To Announce The VAIO W Atom N280 Netbooks In Japan

Think you’ve seen them all? Try again, as Sony FINALLY joins the netbook world, officially announcing the VAIO W series, which suppose to get a Japanese release somewhere this August for a pricey tag of ¥60,000 or about $629. Other than that, Sony’s new VAIO W machine, or in its industrial name the VPCW119XJ, boasts pretty much the same specs we’re all familiar with, including a 10.1-inch display running at 1366 x 768 pixels, along with Intel’s Atom N280 (1.66 GHz) processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard-drive, GMA 950 Graphics accelerator, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connection, Bluetooth, Ethernet, built-in camera, 3-cell battery support supporting 3.5h of work (6-cell optional), Windows XP onboard, a trendy VAIO chiclet keyboard (86% the size of regular one) and myriad of colors to choose from, such as Black, Sugar White, Berry Pink and Cocoa Brown, all stuffed inside a 267.8mm x 27.5mm x 179.6mm device. It’s all relatively new, and as of this moment there are no details when it will hit Western shores or how much will it cost here (hopefully cheaper) but until then, feel free to jump the break and watch the video we’ve added in, together with the full press release.

Medion's 11.6-Inch Akoya Mini E1312 Netbook Introduced, Has AMD Processor Inside

Not sure if Intel has any reason to be worried, but looks like more and more companies start ditching the Atom-based processor and jump on AMD’s trendy CPU wagon, with Gateway, only recently implementing the Athlon 64 L110 inside its LT3100 11.6-inch netbook and now Medion, housing the Sempron 210U processor inside its latest Akoya Mini E1312 machine. But processors aside, Medion’s new netbook, has a lot more to offer with a nice 16:9 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display inside, paired with ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics accelerator and an HDMI output to boost your high-def videos. Other than that, you should expect getting 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive 3-in-1 card reader, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, 6-cell battery (9-cell optional), and Windows XP aboard – all priced at £339.99 (around $550) – from July 12th, exclusively at Aldi UK. Still no word about a Stateside release, so stay tuned.

Additionally, you get to choose between a standard 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 WSVGA display or HD-compatible 1366 x 768 LED screen at the same size, paired with optional WWAN module and either Windows XP Home, SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 or FreeDOS systems aboard, offered at a starting price of $449 from July. Gateway's 11.6-Inch LT3100 Netbook Introduced

With its LT2000 netbook edition, already available for over a month, Gateway is re-storming the market with a new  upgraded version, which carries the title LT3100 and houses a trendy 11.6-inch 1364 x 768 WXGA display, along with what appears to be AMD’s 1.2GHz Athlon 64 L110 CPU, instead of those regular Atom N270/280 processors, we all know pretty well. Other than that, Gateway’s LT3100 includes an improved ATI Radeon X1270 graphics accelerator, up to 2GB RAM, 802.11b/g WiFi connection, three USB 2.0 sockets, 1.3MP webcam, a 6-cell Li-ion battery and 250GB HDD. Additionally, it sports Windows Vista Basic OS inside and offered in NightSky Black or Cherry Red flavors at your choice, with a suggested retail price of $399.99.  Official release is undetermined as of today, but should be considered as “very soon”.

Lengda's Stainless steel X10K Netbook Introduced

One of the cool things about tech shows, is that you get a chance to find products and companies you wouldn’t hear about on a daily bases, and speaking of which, a company named Lengda has recently introduced the first stainless steel netbook ever made, with the usual 10.2-inch display and other regular specs, you already know, but also with additional extended 3G / TV-tuner antenna and a hefty 1.37 kg of weight, resulted from that stainless steel alloy, the chassis is made of. Still no word on price or availability, but apparently the company is prepping an aluminum version as well, in case that steel is too heavy to carry (Not!) . The idea of having both Android tablet and XP netbook, packed in one small portable device is lighting our imagination for quite some time, and when Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry was recently introducing the Mtube II netbook / tablet hybrid machine at the Computex show, we knew we’re on the right direction with this one. The interesting combination of HP Mini 1000, coming with Windows XP flavor, and an Android tablet platform that can easily pulled out of the main body and serve as an independent touch unit, will probably reach the markets in a year or two, but at the meantime, having the ability to watch this wonder in action right here, right now, directly from our armchair is truly exciting, despite the poor processors that were integrated inside – VIA C7-M for the netbook and unspecified ARM processor with the Android tablet – and the screen, which is connected by VNC, providing a medicore video quality at most. Nonetheless, the technology for itself is pretty fascinating, so if you’d like to see this enlightening video for yourself hit the break and start dreaming.

BenQ's 11.6-Inch Joybook Lite U121 Eco Netbook Announced

BenQ is out with a new netbook machine that suppose to give “a lot more for a lot less”, and you have to admit that’s exactly what you’ve been looking for on recession time. But without a given price, the only data you’ll have to settle with at this point is the specs themselves, which are quite impresive, to say the least. And getting into the core details, BenQ’s Joybook Lite U121 Eco is one of those extra sized netbook devices, having an 11.6-inch WXGA (1366×768) display and 100% full sized keyboard on top. Other that that, the Joybook unit will also include up to 500GB of HDD or 32GB SSD, along with Intel’s Atom Z520 / Z530 processors, 1GB of RAM, three USB2.0 sockets, 3-cell battery (with 6-cell optional), Built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g and optional 3.75G HSUPA connectivity. HP To Introduce The Mini 1101, 110 XP and 110 Mi Netbooks Lineup

HP reinforces its Mini netbooks lineup with brand new models, including the Mini 1101, 110XP and 110 Mi, armed from top to bottom with basic specs like 10.1-inch LED-backlit display, GMA 950 graphics set, VGA output, 802.11b/g WiFi connection, 3-cell battery (6 optional) and either 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 or 1.66GHz N280 processors at your choice. But If that’s not enough, each one of the three hides even more goodies, as the 110XP boasts 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD or 32GB SSD, along with a WWAN 3G hardware and a Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator for 1080P video handling, while the 110 Mi carries HP’s Linux-based OS, together with 2GB of RAM and up to 250GB HDD. The third, out of the three, is the Mini 1101, which looks like a basic 110XP version, dropping the Broadcom graphics chipset and adding a Vista OS inside. In terms of price and availability, the 1101 is scheduled to arrive on June 1st, priced at $329, while the 110 alternatives will be joining a week and a half later in black swirl, white swirl or pink chic flavors, priced at $279 for the Linux version and $329 for the XP style. Update1: The guys at Tech65.org were lucky enough to get their hands on the Mini 110 netbook version and generously shared their first experience in a short video preview you can all watch after the break. New add-ons  aside, it seems like HP has made some delicate changes within the external design, ditching the “toggle-off” button around the trackpad and removing the speakers position right under the screen, while adding a matte flavor to the bezel frame in order to prevent mirror reflections. Hardware wise, you now get a 2.5-inch hard-drive (instead of 1.8″), which vigorously  supports 5400 RPMs, making your portable device even faster. Hit the jump to read more.

Update2: Looks like the HP’s Mini 1101 netbook version is finally up for sale at the basic form, priced at $329. Just click in here to get your first impression or wait for its sibling to make their appearance.

Update3: Both Mini 110 Mi and Mini 110 XP are up and available for ordering on HP’s website, priced at at $279.99 or $329.99 respectively, with an optional Intel Atom N280 processor for extra $25 or 6-cell battery for additional $40 to the base price.

Update4: Looks like the Mini 110 netbooks are getting additional colors to the lineup, as HP just added white swirl and pink chic versions to the product page, that will cost you an extra $20over the base price. Furthermore, the company is now offering an HD video boost  option, by adding Broadcom’s Crystal HD Enhanced Video accelerator to your machine for only $30 more.

Asus Eee PC 1000HV Netbook To Include Radeon HD3450 Graphics Card

Are you fed up with those endless netbook machines around? Make sure you have enough room for one more version to digest, as Asus recently announced the new Eee PC 1000HV Atom N280 edition, which allegedly includes the ordinary specs we’re all familiar with, but also a strong ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics set, to take care your hefty video duties, such as HD content and gaming treats. Other than AMD’s powerful card (which isn’t that common among this laptop category) this sleeky portable device houses a 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive and a VGA output to hook your new toy into a larger screen. Still no word on price or availability, but we’ll feed you in with the details as soon as they arrive.

Gateway LT2000 Netbook To Be Released In Japan Somewhere in April

Only 3 months after the LT1004U was spotted on Office Depot in Redmond, WA, carrying a 1.6 GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive, Gateway introduces the LT2000 (an Aspire Pro rebranded model), coming up with more-or-less the same specs as the previous netbook, only with the newer N280 Atom CPU inside. Other than that, you get a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display, 945GSE Chipset, 802.11g WiFi connection, Dolby headphone port, multi-card reader, 0.3MP Webcam and either Black or Red flavors to choose from. No availability details to share at the moment, but in terms of pricing the LT200 will cost you around 49800 Yen ($502), which could have been a real bargain if the “3G” mark at the bottom right was for real.

Update: Looks like the new LT2000 netbook is going to have a very competitive price tag in the US, as Gateway is making it available for $299, in two different models, with the LT2001u coming in NightSky Black (pic) and the LT2021u arriving with a Cherry Red flavor. MSI Wind U123 Netbook Series Officially Introduced

MSI to officially launch its latest colorful U123 netbook series, including three different models to represent this  lineup, starting with the very basic U123 version, which packs a 10.2-inch display, together with a 1.66GHz Atom N280 CPU, 1GB of RAM and some other usual specs. Heading forward to the second version, the U123H, which comes with a 3.5G (HSDPA) WWAN module add-on, and finally the third one, the U123T that houses an integrated TV tuner, but doesn’t support 3.5G capabilities like previous device. Still no word on price or availability, but be sure we’ll bring them to you the moment they go on public.

Update1: Looks like the Wind U123 series is officially available for pre-order in some US retailers (AKA: Amazon, Newegg, J&R), offered either in Blue or Red flavors, with prices starting from $350 and up to $380.

We all wish for bigger and faster hard drives inside our laptops (particularly in Dell’s Mini 9 netbook) and the guys at Jkkmobile have proved us again it’s “easy” and possible to get better ones, specially if you have any electronic affinity or DIY passion. Although this modding process might intimidate many of you, there’s nothing sensational to be done besides the unscrewing and replacing actions, which are considered to be the facile part, while putting things back together is the “more difficult” stage in the process, but those who read these lines probably won’t mind watching the video after the break.

Samsung's N120 Netbook To Go Live In April, With 10.5 Hours Battery And Full Fledged Keyboard

If you had any thoughts on getting Samsung’s latest ultra-strong-battery netbook , which will be available in models like the N110 or the NC310, bear in mind the Koreans has just announced the N120, that will join this exact “longevity” family, thanks to a 6-cell battery that can easily get up to 10.5 hours of continuous use. Battery aside, the N120 will also include a full fledged keyboard, together with a 10.1-inch display, 3-in-1 card reader, three USB ports, 1.3MP camera, 802.11b/g WiFi/Bluetooth connectivities and the usual Atom processor along with the XP OS inside. Still no word on pricing, but you should expect seeing this one hitting Europe somewhere around April.

Update1: Samsung’s N120 is now up for pre-order across the net, priced in between the $450 – $475 range and offered either in Black or White flavors. Other than that, it seems you’ll be getting improved  2.1 channels stereo speakers, which are placed in both sides of the bezel.

Update2: It is now up for sale at Amazon.com, priced at $465.99

Samsung's New NC310 Netbook To Have 11 Hours Battery Inside (Update: Now known as Samsung Go)

If 8 hours battery (which Samsung claimed to integrate inside the N110) isn’t enough, checkout the new NC310 netbook, that was recently surfaced across the Asian part of the world, offering a basic version with usual specs like 10.1-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, 802.11b/g WiFi, 1.3MP camera and 5 hours battery, but also some interesting features inside the enhance model, which boasts HSDPA data, WiBRO connection (Korean WiMAX), and the jewel in the crown – 11 hours battery, that can easily  beat every single netbook in the pond, if true. Although we’re lack of processor details (hopefully a new one) and any pricing numbers, you might be pleased with the NC310’s colorful casing, which definately looks different in those shiny Black, Orange, Purple or Turquoise flavors, all engraved with huge SAMSUNG letters on top.

Update1: While we have no details about a US release, turns out the NC310 will make a debut in the UK somewhere around May, priced at £399 ($577). According to various sources, the first shipment will only include the basic package in black exterior, while other colors will be launched later on. Update3: Looks like Samsung’s N310 is now available to order in the US, as Best Buy has just launched the netbook  in its website, priced at $479.99 and expected to be delivered within a week or two.

Samsung's New N110 Netbook Announced, Claimed To Have Up To 8 Hours Of Battery Usage

Without any extra cheers, Samsung has announced a new netbook, to replace the legendary NC10 (but not the NC20). According to Laptop Magazine, the new N110 will evidently pack the same specs as its predecessor, including 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive and the amazing anti-bacterial keyboard, only this one boasts a different design, featuring a black glossy exterior (instead of the whitish one) with rounded edges around the palm rests and red line across the chassis. Additionally, the N110 is claimed to have a bigger battery that suppose to deliver up to 8 hours of continuous usage, which brings Samsung to stand one line with netbooks like Asus 1000HE, although the Koreans will ask for $469, while the Taiwanese will settle with $374. Lenovo's S20 Netbook Is Rumored To Be Released With a 12-Inch Display And Atom N280 Processor

Nothing much to tell, but seems like Lenovo plans to launch its IdeaPad S20 netbook with a 12-inch display, somewhere this year. The rumored S20 will join the already-exist S10 version which carries a 10-inch frame, but screen size aside, the new model is expected to pack an Atom N280 processor instead of the N270 inside the S10. Additionally, the S20 will carry Intel’s GN40 chipset, together with the usual Windows XP onboard. Still no word on exact date release but looks like the bundle will be priced at around NT$20,000 (US$586). Stay tuned.

UMID To Introduce a New 4.8" Mini Netbook

Korean company UMID has introduced a new miniscule netbook, equipped with a 4.8-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen, Intel Atom 1.1Ghz/1.33GHz processors, 512BMB/1GB of RAM, 1.3MP camera, and a microSDHC slot inside. As for connectivity, the new device packs all the latest technologies, including WiBro, WiMAX, HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0, while storage is ranged between 8GB up to 32GB SSD. You get a chance to choose either Windows XP/Vista or Linux system and don’t forget the DMB / DVB-T tuner, also included within this 315g machine. Still, no word on price or availability, but Korean visitors will probably get it first.

Update1: Justek, an Australia-based reseller, has uploaded it for pre-order, priced at AU$1399 ($924). Delivery is scheduled to February 27th.

Update2: February 23rd – UMID M1 gets official, so you can check the Korean website for more details. Meanwhile, take a look at the video after the break.

ASUS Eee PC 900 Series Gets Gold And Blue Flavors

So far, we’ve seen too many Eee PC versions, but only two colors to choose from, including black and white (N10 version not included). However, after squinting around, Asus has realised it needs some diversity, and added two more hues to the casing pool. For the moment, you will be able to snatch a golden 900A or a dark-blue 901A, which suprisingly, resembles the popular Acer Aspire one netbook. As for the other internal specifications, looks like they remain the same, although we can’t have similar confidentiality concerning the prices.

Toshiba NB100 Netbook Gets Official In Europe

ARRRRGH…this is getting way overcrowded, but who cares, when there’s a competition around and the joiner is Toshiba, that officially Introduces its latest NB100 netbook, to be released in October, with the expected Atom N270 processor and the 8.9-inch, 1024 x 600 display. You can also find either Ubuntu or Windows XP onboard, together with 1GB of RAM, built-in WiFi, 120GB storage capacity and 3 covering colors to choose from, including Champagne Gold, Bright Silver or Cosmic Black. As mentioned, it’s going to make a debut across Europe next month for £260 ($470).

Samsung Officially Announces The New 10-Inch NC10 Netbook

It’s been already a week since we first encountered with Samsung’s namelessly netbook. Turns out it answers the name NC10 and packs the usual specs, including a 10.2-inch display, Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 1.3M webcam, and a 3-in-1 card reader. In addition, it runs Windows XP OS and houses a 6-cell battery, WiFi, Bluetooth and storage capacity, up to 160GB HDD. One special feature the NC10 has, is the anti-bacterial keyboard, to protect your netbook from all those animalcules, hanging around. Still, no word about official prices, so you’d have to wait until it hits the shelves next month.

Update: What Laptop says that Samsung goes all the way down, with a competitive price of £299 ($532). I guess it’s not the “too low” price you’d expected, but it’s a good start.
