Lenovo Introduces Tab 2 A10, A8 Budget Friendly Android Tablets

At World Mobile Congress 2015, Lenovo has unveiled a new line of friendly low-budget tablets, dubbed the A10 and the A8 , with both names to indicate sizes. The two slates which will set you back for sub $200 sport an upgrade over previous models in that they both include a MediaTek 64-bit Quad-core processor, as well as Dolby Atmos sound technology and multi-speaker soundbar on for maximum audio experience.

As expected, Lenovo’s Tab 2 A10 tablet is the biggest model that the company offers in this series, measuring only 8.9mm thin and about 509 grams in weight, while featuring a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS display on the top. Out of the box, the A10 is planned to run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS but the company promises it will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop some time later. Lenovo Announces Windows, Android Line of Tablets, Featuring Yoga Tablet 2 Pro and Yoga Tablet 2 Slates

Chinese computer giant Lenovo has already introduced their Yoga line of swivel tablets sometime around October last year. They allow you to use them regularly in multiple positions, either like a long standing screen, or simply as a proper laptop keyboard surface. The slates which have been widely pushed by actor Ashton Kutcher, present a new concept of tablet design, thanks to the clean and modern lines of the frame, as well as the long wide kickstand which makes for a comfortable reading or media viewing experience.

Today, Lenovo introduced two new Yoga Tablet models, with some rather interesting and more updated hardware specs.

What’s new in the Yoga is a number of add-on features being introduced this year. It’s not just the size of the screen that’s changed, with the outgoing Yoga tablets packing 10.1-inch displays Max in 1,280 x 800 pixels, and the new models cramming high-definition 1,900×1,200-pixel-resolution screens, the quality of the chips has also been improved and the overall design received a more sleek and contemporary look than anywhere before.

The Yoga tablet Pro 2 is the larger of the options in the series. It packs a whopping 13.3-inch display, featuring 2560 x 1440 screen resolution. Impressive, isn’t it? Along with the giant screen, we’re also looking at a fourth-generation Intel Atom processor under the hood, as well as 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot , allowing up to 64GB capacity, and a micro USB OTG port. The tablet runs under Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat OS, with an option to pick up Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 as the main controlling platform.

The real kicker? It has a beautiful integrated pico projector inside the kickstand. Yes, you’ve heard that right, a 16:9 built-in projector featuring 40-50 lumens and good for up to 50-inch image on any blank home-theater surface. Apart from that it sports 8-watt speakers plus a JBL subwoofer for great sounding audio experience. It is estimated that the battery on this device will last approximately 15 hours.

As far as pricing goes, the 13-inch model starts at $499 (32GB version), while the smaller iterations (8- and 10-inch models) will start at $249 and $299, respectively, with a retail version to be available at the end of  October.

Lenovo is offering the Yoga tablet 2 in 8-inch and 10-inch models, both with your choice of Android or Windows 8.1 platforms on board. The screens boast Full-HD 1920×1080 resolution, supporting 1080p formats natively. Both are said to feature Intel Atom processors on board, alongside a dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity and optional 4G for blazing internet speeds. Photography wise, you’re getting an 8 megapixel rear camera, as well as a 1.6 megapixel shooter up on the front, with a battery that can deliver up to 18 hours of continuous work.

In terms of capacities, the Windows version is claimed to house 32GB of internal storage with optional microSD slot expansion, while the Android version has only 16GB to store your data, music, photos, and videos.

As for the prices, Lenovo is widely competitive with their new line of Yoga Tablet 2, starting at $249.99 and $299.99 for the 8-inch and 10-inch Android models respectively, while the 8-inch Windows version will cost $299.99 (available in November) and the 10-incher at $399.99 (available in late October).

Lenovo’s commitment to innovation continues with ongoing new product introductions, both on Android and Microsoft’s Windows 8 platforms.  Today, we’re looking at a brand new 10-inch Windows 8.1 tablet, dubbed Lenovo ThinkPad 10, and  which may be considered as a good complement to the company’s Thinkpad 8. In general, we’re talking about a 10-inch slate with a 1,920 x 1,200 screen, packing a 1.6GHz quad-core Atom Z3795 processor, as well as 4GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of internal storage. In addition, it has an 8 MP camera sensor resolution on the back, plus a 2 MP front-facing digital camera  for video calling and selfies. Moreover, it supports 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC technologies, as well as 4G LTE, EVDO, and HSPA+ cellular networks (optional).

A diverse range of accessory bundle will also be available, including  a Quickshot Cover, a tablet dock with 3 USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, Ethernet jack, and PXE boot support, and a separate keyboard dock and case if you like to type whilst on the go for instance. Price and availability are yet to be determined.

Lenovo Introduces Four Entry-Level Android Tablets

It’s been a while since we last posted about a new budget-friendly device. Surely, we should have seen more of these available in the market, but not at the expense of quality and size, right? Well, depends on who you are asking I suppose. However, with that in mind the big news of today comes courtesy of Lenovo, where they have just revealed their latest collection of entry-level slabs. The new line, which is comprised of four different Tabs, the A7-30, A7-50, A8 and A10, comes equipped with a quad-core MediaTek processor under the hood, as well as Dolby-powered dual-front speakers and a version of Android OS that is yet to be disclosed.

The first model, which happens to be the smaller and weaker of the four, is the Tab A7-30. It has a 7-inch 1024×600 resolution display along with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor,  a 3500mAh battery, and a suite of low-resolution cameras (2MP on the back plus a VGS up front), with an optional cellular support.

Lenovo’s A7-50 really isn’t much of a difference except the slightly better 7-inch “HD” display which boasts 1280×720 screen resolution. Other than that it packs the same batch of cameras, an optional SIM card tray and an 8GB storage for all your media source files, including video, photos and audio.

The Lenovo A8-50, which you can see in the picture above, is said to be coming with a larger 8-inch HD display on board, coupled with 1280×800 pixel resolution  along with a 5MP rear camera plus a 2MP camera on the front.

The last tablet in this series is the Tab A10, which runs a 10.1-inch wide HD screen at 1280×800 resolution. There’s also a larger 6340 mAh battery inside and the mix of cameras offers 2MP front-facing camera and a 5MP shooter on the back. It will be available worldwide from Q2 2014 for £169.99, while the other three will cost £99, and £139 respectively.

Lenovo Takes Wraps Off The Android-Powered Yoga Tablet 10 HD Plus

Lenovo’s Yoga Tablet 8 and 10, which only launched four months ago, are somewhat of a different breed in their appearance and design, featuring a long wide kickstand at the back and a curvy handle that’s not afraid to bend a few rules. Today, however, the company has slightly improved these fancy shamncy Android models even further with the addition of a better line of specifications. While the overall shape of the Yoga is preserved, the internal structure has been functionally upgraded.

The new version, known as the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+, comes equipped with a 10.1-inch 1,920 x 1,200 Full HD display, compared to the early model’s 1,280 x 800 screen resolution. This model features a quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood, while previous slates were mostly based on a 1.2GHz MediaTek processor. Finally, the internal memory is doubled to include an integrated 2 gigs of RAM and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera vs. a 5-megapixel shooter on the first iteration of Yoga tablets.

Moreover, there’s an optional 3G wireless connectivity as well as microSD slot expansion, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n standard Wi-Fi, and last but not least, a massive 9,000mAh battery pack, with up to 18 hours of continuous run time.

Yoga 10 HD+ tablet is likely to be shipped with Google’s Android Jelly Bean version sometime in April with prices starting at $349 for the 16GB option.

Once again, we’re looking at a mid-range 8-inch device which is expected to launch by the end of the month. What stands out about the display however is the exceptional high-def screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixel it has, while most other contenders have only 1280 x 800 pixel screens to offer (iPad Mini aside). The Thinkpad slate, which is conceptualized as being more for business use, comes with an 8.3-inch screen, 2GB of RAM, your interesting choice of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage capacities, a micro-HDMI output, microUSB 3.0 port, a nice aluminum back panel, and an optional 4G LTE support. The device features a 2.4GHz Intel Atom Bay Trail processor under the lid, and its batteries will last for about 8 hours of continuous work.

The Thinkpad 8 is very thin, measuring in at 8.8mm thick (weighing in at 430g), and features a primary camera of 8-megapixels on the back, and a 2 megapixels one on the front. Naturally, as a business-class device, the Thinkpad 8 will come with some nice exclusive goodies for free, such as the Microsoft MS Office, and all the benefits that Windows 8.1 Professional offers, like Snap, Share, and so many more.

As mentioned, the tablet will be available later this month, with prices starting at $399 for the wi-fi only model. Lenovo is also offering an optional smart cover case called the “QuickShot cover” which will be available for a purchase online and in stores at roughly $50. The kicker of this cover is that it attaches magnetically at the side of the tablet (same as Apple’s smartcover), protecting the screen from scratches or damages and waking it up when it’s removed or putting it to sleep when it’s attached. In addition, you can easily fold back the cover to use it as a stand.

Lenovo Officially Announces a New Line Of ‘Yoga’ Android Tablets With 8- and 10-inch Screens

You know how it goes, first there’s the leak and then there’s the official announcement, and in Lenovo’s case a new line of two Yoga Tablets. What was previously best known as the IdeaPad B6000 and B8000 is now available in 8-inch and 10-inch iterations with 1,280 x 800 IPS screens that can easily rotate up to 135 degrees. The Chinese corp has appointed Ashton Kutcher to promote the new products and unveiled a low introductory price of $249 for the smaller device and only $299 for the slightly bigger version (both are gonna kick off today on Best Buy).

The new slates will pack a quad-core MediaTek processor under the hood, along with dual cameras (1.6MP in front, 5MP in back), Google’s Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 for the OS, and up to 16GB of integrated storage (expandable via microSD slot). There’s also 1GB of RAM inside the box and a lithium battery providing up to 18 hours of continuous work. At least that is what the company says.

What’s unique about these Yoga tablets is the new and conceptual design with the massive kickstand thing positioned widely on the back of the slabs, the textured plastic cover and this rounded tube placed at the base – the kind of pipe you’d find on Apple’s wireless keyboards. While designs remain pretty much the same, the overall weight is slightly different between one Yoga device to another. The 8-inch model weighs only 0.88 pound while the 10-incher is at 1.33 pounds.

Lenovo Introduces 8-inch Miix2 Tablet With Windows 8.1

One category that has been so frequently mentioned in the portable computing area is the 8-inch tablet range. Companies like Apple, Acer and even Dell are already on board with this burgeoning mid-size consumer trend. Another electronic giant that has officially announced a new slate in that same exact scale is HP, and Lenovo, who is a well known laptop company, has recently joined the growing field as well. But with all due respect to the others, I would like to keep this post focused on the last corp mentioned in that list. 

As of today, the Chinese group is offering its first 8-inch Windows 8.1 slate with a 1,200 x 800 screen resolution and an Intel quad-core Bay Trail SoC for better performance and low power consumption. The new tablet is dubbed as the Miix2, and will be made available sometime this month for $299 for the very basic pack. Besides the latest Windows operating system, you will also be getting the popular Microsoft Home Student Office and the new IE 11 browser for an optimized internet surfing experience. In addition, it also comes with two integrated cameras: a 2MP front facing camera and a 5MP rear-facing shooter. Buyers will get to choose between 16, 32, and up to 128GB of storage space, and there are many optional accessories to suit and complement the tablet from detachable cover casings to traditional stylus pens.

Online Retailers Leak Lenovo IdeaPad B6000 and B8000 Android Jelly Bean Tablets

Lenovo is prepping at least two new tablets with an 8-inch and 10-inch screens, according to new details out of some German retail stores. The displays are LED-backlit, featuring a standard WXGA panel beneath with a native resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Reportedly, both slabs will be running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for the OS, and are said to be powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT8125 quad-core processor. Additionally, the two variants which appear to be quite similar to each other, incorporate a hinge that can rotate 360 degrees to give you several viewing angles and more flexible ways of using them both. The tablets, which seem to be part of Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga portable family, will also include 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, at least 16GB of internal storage, Wifi, Bluetooth and a micro-USB 2.0 port. While the 8-inch form, the IdeaPad B6000-F, will retail for 215 euros, the bigger iteration, the IdeaPad B8000-F, will set you back around 280 euros a piece, with no release info available as of yet.

Lenovo S5000 7-Inch €199 Jelly Bean Tablet Announced

Today, at IFA 2013, Lenovo has officially introduced its latest and greatest 7-inch  Android tablet, dubbed the S5000. Measuring 7.9mm thick and weighing 236 grams, the ultra-thin slate includes a capacitive 1280×800 pixel resolution screen, paired with a 1.2GHz quad-core Media Tek 8389 processor, and a 3450 mAh battery which offers up to eight hours of continuous work. The new device is expected to run Android Jelly Bean for the OS and sport a 5-megapixel camera at the back and a 1.6MP shooter up front. Of course, there is WiFi and Bluetooth technology that lets you connect to other devices and the Internet, wherever you go, and there’s an optional 3G HSPA+ connectivity version that you will be able to choose in some of the countries around the world. But Not In The U.S. as far as we know. As for pricing, the 16GB S5000 will retail in Europe for €199, while the 3G model will be €249. You can expect one sometime Q4 this year.

Lenovo Rolls Out Three New Android Tablets, 7-inch A1000 and A3000, and 10-inch S6000

As a leading manufacturer of personal computers, and laptops, Lenovo has predictably returned to Mobile World Congress with a heaping armful of new tablets of both the 7-inch and 10-inch variety, all of which run Android Jelly Bean under the hood, and will probably be globally available sometime in Q2. Starting with the 7-inch models, key specs for the entry level A1000 tablet, include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, alongside a microSD slot expansion (32GB at max), 1,024 x 600 screen resolution, and up to 16GB of inbuilt storage. The A3000, on the other hand, boasts a tad stronger 1.2GHz quad-core MTK processor inside, together with an IPS display, expandable microSD slot (up to 64GB), and optional HSPA+ network.

The 10-inch form factor, dubbed the S6000, is an high-end slate, housing a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek’s 8389 / 8125 CPU, a much better 1,280 x 800 IPS display, a shell that’s 8.6 mm thick and weighs just 560 grams (the 7-inchers measure at 11mm), and with eight hours of battery life to work with. Update: Lenovo has finally begun selling the A1000 and A3000 slates online, with prices starting at $149 (after $40 discount) for the very basic IdeaPad device, and up to $229 in case you’d like to try the better alternative.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 and IdeaTab S2110 Android 4.0 Tablets Officially Announced

Lenovo has officially taken the wraps of their latest Android tablets, unveiling the IdeaTab A2107 and IdeaTab S2110 at IFA in Berlin, Germany. And while availability dates are still particularly vague, prices should range somewhere between $200 to $500.

Specs for the IdeaTab A2107 include a 7-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen (same size as the Nexus 7 and the  Kindle Fire), alongside a 1GHz dual-core MTK Cortex A9 CPU, either WiFi-only models or 3G+WiFi configuration, with storage capacities range between 4GB to 16GB at most. There’s also a Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity under the hood, as well as an FM radio, a Micro-USB, an SD card expansion and WCDMA plus GSM network support.

Up next is the IdeaTab S2110, a  10.1-inch Ice Cream Sandwich device, running a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm chip inside, tucked with a 1280 x 800 IPS display that can feature up to 10-finger multi-touch support. This machine is basically a hybrid between a tablet and a laptop, that were technically combined together by an optional keyboard dock, which naturally helps you out with the typing, extends your battery life with additional 10 hours, and sports a full-size SD card slot. The tablet itself comes with a choice of 16GB or 32GB flavors, while the camera shooters are at 5-megapixel on the back and a a dual 1.3-megapixel up front. Out of the box, you also get micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports.

Lenovo’s Windows 8 ThinkPad Tablet 2 Gets Official, Coming in October

Lenovo have already shown us (at Computex 2012) a glimpse of things to come in the Windows 8 area. And thankfully, it wasn’t long till things got underway. As much as we look forward to Lenovo’s next-gen ThinkPad device, it’s Microsoft’s brand new operating system that makes us interested and curious; and the Thinkpad tablet 2 actually has it. Scheduled for release in October, the 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen slate runs an Intel Atom processor under the 1,366 x 768 IPS display. In addition, it will pack a micro-HDMI output, alongside  a 10-hour battery, a rear 8MP camera and a front 2MP for your video chats, optional 3G / 4G connectivity, NFC radio capabilities and  HSPA+ cellular support.

Other cool features of the ThinkPad 2 include a fingerprint reader, a quality stylus pen, a lavish black 9.8mm-thick design, an optional keyboard, and a portable docking station with a myriad of ports such as USB, HDMI-out and an Ethernet socket, on board. No word yet on pricing, but you can hit the jump for the full PR release and a very early hands-on video.

Lenovo Shows Off a 10.1-inch Windows 8 ThinkPad Tablet

Another day, another Windows 8 tablet demo over at Computex 2012. This time a Lenovo Thinkpad prototype, spotted around the Intel booth, running a full-fledged Win 8 software behind the lid, and said to include a 10.1-inch 1366 x 768 screen, sitting on top of a 9.7mm black sturdy body that packs two cameras (8MP rear, 2MP front), a docking connector, a volume rocker, and a micro-HDMI port. At this point in time, we are looking at one of the very early-stage devices out there, and the final product might look just a little different – And that’s probably why most specs are scarce right now. As far as CPU goes, it’s mainly some sort of an Intel Clover Trail processor, while the battery is rumored to deliver around 10 hours of continuous and reliable performance to each and every charge. And make no mistake, this is a Windows 8 slate and not an Android 4.0 device – It is a bit confusing and does take time to get used to, we know. The overall look seems to be more thought out and reserved, you get a typical Thinkpad design around the slab, with a softy scratches-free plate covering the upper hood. But as we’ve mentioned it’s still early days, so please keep a look out for more details and info.

Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 To Make Official Stateside Debut In June

Lenovo has already made the leap into the Ice Cream Sandwich Android tablets market by launching the 9.7-inch IdeaTab S2109 slate couple of months ago, and now it appears the Chinese corp is making moves Stateside, offering the 8.9mm slab with 1024 x 768 IPS panel, dual-core, 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, four speakers, micro USB/HDMI extensions for only $349 through Lenovo’s online hub and Office Depot’s retail division. Let’s see if the price is attractive enough, as it is a really tempting light.

Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 Quietly Introduced With Ice Cream Sandwich On Board

Lenovo has finally jumped on the Ice Cream Sandwich bandwagon. That’s right folks, the Chinese Corp. just quietly unveiled (on YouTube ) a 9.7-inch tablet, and claims it will launch with an Android 4.0 OS on board. And while price and availability are yet to be determined, the 8.9mm-thick device, called IdeaTab S2109, is said to be including some sort of a TI OMAP chipset, alongside a 1024 x 768 IPS screen display, a microSD memory card expansion, microUSB plus micro-HDMI ports, quad speakers on the back and a 1.3 megapixels shooter up front. Lenovo To Introduce LePad S2005, S2007 and LePad S2010 Android Honeycomb Tablets

Chinese corp Lenovo introduces three new Android Honeycomb tablets, LePad S2005, LePad S2007 and the LePad S2010. At this point without price or confirmation of release dates. And while the 5-inch S2005 will reportedly pack an 800 x 480 LTPS display, paired with  a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, HDMI out, Android 2.3.5 for the OS, and dual cameras with a 5-megapixel flavor on its back (capable of capturing 1080p) and a 1.3-megapixel webcam on the front, its bigger siblings will presumably boast Qualcomm’s dual-core 1.5GHz chip, along with 1GB RAM, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera plus 8 megapixels on the back, dual-mode 3G connection, WiFi, 1280 x 800 IPS display and Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, planned for the foreseeable future, or so. In addition, there are few indications that the latter two not only differ in screen sizes, but also their batteries, as the 7-inch S2007 device features a 3780mAh battery, while the 10.1-inch S2010 is said to include the 7560mAh version which holds for sufficiently long times. Update: More on that. we here that the S2 10 model is likely to have Android 4.0 running on board, along with that 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB LPDDR2 RAM, SSD with up to 64GB of storage, HDMI Micro output, and 1.3 megapixel camera up front, while the rear is at 5 megapixel, instead of an 8MP we presumed it would have. Besides that, Lenovo is going to offer a keyboard dock that boasts an integrated  multitouch trackpad, additional 9 hours battery station, an SDHC card reader and duo USB 2.0 ports. Lenovo is Preparing To Launch a 10.1-inch Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet With Tegra 3 Processor (Update: Lenovo IdeaTab K2)

Rumor has it that Lenovo is planning to release a 10.1-inch Ice Cream Sandwich tablet with a 1.6GHz Tegra 3 chipset inside, by the end of the year. According to a tipster to engadget, the nameless Lenovo device which boasts a brush metal cover on its back, will presumably include NVIDIA’s latest and greatest quad-core Tegra 3 T33 “Kal-El” SoC, paired with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a full sized USB port, a fingerprint scanner, a rear facing camera of some undetermined description and Google’s top-notch Android platform running on board. Other than that, we have no real details as far as measures, pricing or availability, so stay tuned to learn even more.

Update: New details emerging from the CES show are clearing up the speculations around Lenovo’s upcoming Android 4.0 tablet, the IdeaTab K2, which is rumored to include a high-def 1,920 x 1,200 IPS display, along with a pair of surround technology speakers, and either 1.6GHz or 1.7GHz speed clock CPUs at your choice. Lenovo’s 10.1-inch IdeaPad Tablet P1 Officially Introduced With Windows 7 On Board

You may be thinking that getting a Windows 7 tablet isn’t a good deal considering the iOS and Android alternatives available at the market right now. Well, in that case, think again because a brand new, light-weight tablet, powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system is on its way to the market, the Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet P1. It is equipped with a 10.1-inch shell design, while running a 1.5GHz Intel processor inside, as the screen resolution is at 1280 x 800 and the touchscreen display will utilize capacitive touch technology. Furthermore, it arrives with 2GB of DDR2 memory, as well as 64GB of SSD storage, microSD card reader, USB 2.0 hub, Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G connectivity. In addition, there’s a full stylus pen technology support and a 2-megapixel webcam for video telephony is placed in the front. Lenovo 10.1-inch Thinkpad Tablet To Be Released This Summer With Honeycomb On Board

Nothing is still certain, but according to a leaked slide which was recently discovered by the blogsphere, Lenovo is currently working around the clock to bring us a 10.1-inch Android 3.0 tablet with either 16, 32, or 64GB of storage and a Tegra 2 chipset on board. The 1.6 pounds rumored device, now being dubbed Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet, seems to be almost over as details on the product launch begin to surface, suggesting up to 8 hours of battery pack, tucked with dual cameras, an SD card slot, mini-HDMI output and a 1280 x 800 IPS capacitive touchscreen panel on top. As for price, well… I guess it comes down to what the iPad devices cost – from $499, starting this coming July across major US retail stores.

Lenovo LePad Tablet and IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Officially Out Again with Android 2.2

So, Lenovo is officially back to this netbooks/tablets game after freezing its high-end U1 Hybrid project for a while in order to do some serious thinking. And as we’ve said, they are back again, appear ready and able to kick some real ass with what’s now being called the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid with LePad tablet. So what has changed, you’re asking? The new skin version is now powered by Google’s Android 2.2 version (called LeOS) instead of the sluggish Linux Skylight platform. Additionally, you’ll be getting even more powerful processors inside, as the U1 base unit is now equipped with a 1.2GHz Intel Core i5-540UM (optional i7) and the LePad tablet boasts a 1.3GHz Snapdragon flavor. Design wise, the netbook station now has a nice and more efficient chiclet keyboard within, along with a dimpled trackpad at the bottom and an overall sense of high and lavish style. Other than that, we’re glad to see substantial improvements in the LePad screen as well. The 10.1-incher is much more responsive than its sluggish and resistive predecessor, and seems to have a 1280 x 800 capacitive multitouch panel on board. Switching between Windows (base unit) to Android (tablet) is as simple as docking and undocking the LePad unit from its U1 platform. The process for itself often seems super fast when it comes to disconnecting between the two devices, while a bit slower the other way around. As for pricing and availability, the LePad is coming at ya (in case you live in China) sometime this quarter with a base price of $520, while the full package, including both the tablet and the U1 unit will run you for a whopping $1300. Lenovo IdeaPad S205 and IdeaPad S100 Netbooks Officially Announced

Lenovo has just rolled out a new line of S series netbooks (not to be confused with the previous line) that includes the IdeaPad S205 which comes with an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 16:9 widescreen display, paired with an AMD dual-core E-350 processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and a bunch of storage capacities at your choice and up to 750GB HDD, max. Naturally, there’s a 802.11b/g/n WiFi connection inside, along with a 6-in-1 card reader, an optional 3G, HDMI output and 3 X USB 2.0 ports. Up next in that group is the IdeaPad S100 which boasts a 10.1-inch display, tucked with a dual-core Intel Atom N570 CPU, up to 2GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel’s GMA 3150 for the graphics and 320GB of storage on board. Other specs worth the mention  are the 802.11b/g/n WiFi connection, Bluetooth, a 2-in-1 card reader, 2MP webcam and couple of USB 2.0 ports. Lenovo To Replace Linux Skylight OS With Android In Future Devices

Color us unsurprised, but it’s still notable to hear that Lenovo is stopping investment in its OS capability to support the Skylight smartbook and U1 Hybrid devices, we’ve first seen at CES, and instead seek to replace it (the sluggish Linux Skylight OS) with a far-faster Google Android one. In a written statement, the company says it has shelved the Skylight smartbook for the time being and refers to the U1 hybrid as a concept.  Who said that Apple’s magical iPad is not a game changer, who?

After careful consideration of market conditions and user feedback, Lenovo has decided to focus its resources on building a family of next-generation mobile internet devices based upon open technologies such as (but not limited to) the Android kernel, similar to the Lenovo smartphone, which is available for sale in China now.

As a result of Lenovo’s strategic shift towards open standards such as an Android kernel based environment, the Company has shelved its plans to release the initial version of the Skylight smartbook that featured a proprietary Linux-based OS.

Lenovo remains committed to working with our strategic partners to deliver innovative products in the growing mobile internet space, including the aforementioned smartphones and smartbooks, as well as exploring innovative new concepts that continue to “push-the-envelope” like the U1 hybrid PC.

And while most usual S10-3 versions are measured at 1-inch thick, this one, on the other hand, is only .6-inches thin over 2.4 lbs. What’s more, the new version also offers Intel’s Atom N450 / N470 processors, 1GB of RAM, storage capacities ranged from 160GB and up to 320GB at your choice – and those interested, can now get the basic specs for $379 and not a penny more. Lenovo has really given a thought lately to what bring us geeks out and make us extremely excited whenever approaching new gadgets. And clearly, the company has spent a lot of time and budgets when it first came up with the idea of creating a product that combines a laptop and a tablet under one single hood. Well, the product is now officially out and youm can call it IdeaPad U1 Hybrid. It looks both innovative and stylish at the same time, and packs a 11.6-inch laptop with a detachable multitouch display that turns the screen into a nice portable tablet, running Lenovo’s proprietary Skylight Linux platform and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, paired with a 16GB SSD and that nice looking multitouch slate. The entire pack, including the tablet and the laptop together, weighs only 3.8 pound and boasts a CULV Intel Core 2 Duo processor , lining up with a chicklet-style keyboard, a 128GB SSD, a big integrated touchpad and Windows 7 Premium preloaded onboard. Lenovo definitely shows a lot of creativity at this year’s CES show in Vegas. And just in case you were thinking the Chinese would likely settle with their latest good-looking Skylight, think twice, because the way it looks, there’s a lot more down in their sleeves. Hence the first one in this session, is the IdeaPad S10-3 which Lenovo completely revamped and stuffed inside a beautiful 10-inch screen, paired with an Atom N470 CPU, nice chicklet-style keys, a 3-cell battery (optional 6-cell) and premium chassis design that weighs only 2.4 pounds and attractively priced at $399, or 20 bucks less at Amazon’s online store. The second, and more interesting between these two, is the IdeaPad S10-3t tablet netbook which packs a stunning 10-inch swivel screen that boasts a Natural Touch interface plus a highly responsive accelerometer. It would cost you a bit higher, $499 to be accurate, but you will also receive Windows 7 Home Premium and 6-cell Lithium-ion battery, both bundled in the pack. Lenovo’s Skylight Smartbook Unveiled, First To Include ARM Snapdragon Processor

Lenovo strikes with some interesting stuff at this early stage of the year. The latest, is the company’s stunning ARM-based smartbook, called Skylight. It’s a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 720 display device that offers a new stylish approach that we haven’t seen out there before. For this reason, it’s priced above the average at $499, but offers nice specs lineup which includes a fast 1GHz ARM Snapdragon processor, together with 20GB of flash storage, 2GB of cloud storage, plus an 8GB miniSD card. Furthermore, you get a 1.3 megapixel camera, 2 X USB ports, WiFi, 3G connections and battery with up to 10 hours of continuous work time. The rounded clamshell design looks stunning and the weight is just under 2 pounds, which grants a more convenient portability to this new Skylight machine. According to Lenovo, shipping suppose to begin somewhere around April, as buyers will enjoy a variant of 18 widgets and web apps, already preloaded inside, amongst you’ll find Facebook, Twitter, Gmail Youtube and more. Google Chrome OS Announced, Will Be available In 2010

Google has just thrown a bomb to the IT world, announcing a new Chrom OS platform that suppose to give an open-source solution mainly for netbooks but also for full-size desktop systems, and is expected to go live somewhere on the second half of 2010. Additionally, the new OS from Mountain View, CA is claimed to smoothly run any x86 and ARM chips, while the company firmly says it already teamed up with manufacturers like Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments to bring you all the best and comprehensive UI you’d get, so stay tuned for a lot more to come. Here’s what Google’s blog had to say, in a nutshell:

“Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. Too expensive at this point, but things will change on Western shores.

Update6: Now it’s official, the IdeaPad S12 is finally up on Lenovo’s online shop, listed in different configurations, as the Windows 7 edition runs for $599 and packs a 12.1-inch 1,280 x 800 display, along with a 1.6GHz N270 processor, a 250GB hard drive, a 256MB Nvidia Ion chipset, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 6-cell battery, and that Windows 7 Home Premium edition, pre-installed inside.

Lenovo's Upcoming IdeaPad S10-2 Netbook To Include 3G Capabilities (Update: Now Official)

It’s been a while since Lenovo last updated its netbooks lineup, but in case you were losing your patience, a mysterious user-manual, which recently showed up, reveals the company’s plan to release a new S10 version, equipped with a 3G HSPA, EVDO / WiMAX module and some other new external changes, including rounded edges, different hinge, a larger trackpad, with what appears to be multi-touch surface, and a 10.1-inch WSVGA display. Naturally, no other specs to share at this point, but looks like the new S10-2 model will offer either a 28Wh 3-cell battery or a bigger 48Wh 6-cell pack to choose from.  Stay tuned for more details to come.

Update1: Lenovo gets official with the IdeaPad S10-2 netbook, to be available in some new flavors besides the usual 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD and a 1.3MP webcam. Price wise, the basic version will set you back for $349.99, with extra $50 in case you’re into the integrated 3G model.

Update2: The guys at LaptopMag had their hands on this latest version from Lenovo. According to their preview, the new external design is a positive add-on to the first model, while other specs remain the same, suggesting pretty much similar performance results, except from the fresh Western Digital Scorpio Blue hard-drive, which is much faster than older one. Too bad we’d have to be seperated from the ExpressCard that first S10 had to offer, but having a better keyboard might just do the work for us, instead.

Nothing special about the new MRT800 PMP besides the “Lenovo” pedigree. But brand aside, it has a 4.3-inch 480 x 272 TFT LCD with FM tuner, voice recorder, microSD expansion slot and wide range of codecs support, including RMVB, AVI, ASF, MP4, or FLV for video, and MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, or WAV for audio. Nothing much to tell, but seems like Lenovo plans to launch its IdeaPad S20 netbook with a 12-inch display, somewhere this year. The rumored S20 will join the already-exist S10 version which carries a 10-inch frame, but screen size aside, the new model is expected to pack an Atom N280 processor instead of the N270 inside the S10. Additionally, the S20 will carry Intel’s GN40 chipset, together with the usual Windows XP onboard. Still no word on exact date release but looks like the bundle will be priced at around NT$20,000 (US$586). Stay tuned.

Lenovo S10 Netbook Gets Multi-Touch Capabilities

We’ve already seen “Multi-Touch” capabilities in Asus 1000H, but it’s always nice to learn that you’ll be able to find them in Lenovo S10 netbooks as well, as the company announced it will add a multi-touch trackpad in addition to a bigger screen size, turning the ideapad S10 from a 10-inch netbook into a 10.2-inch device. They should be available in black, white, red, blue, or pink colors somewhere around March, however, the price will top the regular $349 version, so be patient Lenovo avids. Lenovo IdeaPad U8 MID Goes Live at The Olympics

The new Lenovo IdeaPad U8 MID makes a debut right on time, as the Beijing Olympic games take place these days and new world records are getting smashed. Official specs include a 4.8-inch touchscreen, Intel Atom Z500 800MHz processor, GPS navigation system, front/rear cameras, 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, EDGE, 3G and even Wimax support (wow!). In addition it has 1GB of RAM, 6GB flash storage and a place for a dongle, to receive China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting signals, in order to watch the Olympics for free, if you happened to be in China, all for the size of 21 x 173 x 84mm and 350 grams. No word on price, but you should expect a smartphone costing, so start saving.

Update: Price is set to be around $730 (4,999 yuan) which is not that cheap, considering you can get a laptop, but sometimes you have to pay for light portability.

Lenovo To Release The New IdeaPad S10 Ultra-Mini Laptop

Another ultra-mini notebook joins the group, as Lenovo officially announces the release of the new IdeaPad S10, coming up Stateside in early October with a Windows XP operating system, Powered by Intel Atom processor, together with a 10-inch LED backlit display (1024 x 600). In addition, the new IdeaPad features an integrated multi-touch touchpad, a built-in 1.3M Camera, 4 in 1card Reader, Bluetooth, wireless 802.11 b/g connection and 3 cell / 6 cell battery, delivering 3 to 6 hours, respectively. Lenovo will be offering the S10 in different configurations, including a 512MB memory with 80GB storage capacity for $399 or a 1GB model with 160GB capacity for $450. You will be able to choose out of red black or white flavors and Lenovo promises to launch a 9-inch version with Linux OS aboard in other countries, later on.
