Following on from the initial success of the Venue 8 7000 tablet, one of the best mid-range Android machines available right now, Dell has announced a brand new, bigger iteration of the very same device, the Venue 10 7000.

Claimed to be designed to impress with stunning features, the 10.5-inch paper-thin model has been apparently restructured to increase max performance. Under the lid of  Venue 10’s aluminum body you’ll get to find 2GB of DDR RAM, as well as a 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor. There’s also that fabulous 8-megapixel rear camera shooter (supporting Intel’s RealSense3D technology), alongside a 2MP front-facing camera, as well as a 7,000mAh battery pack, delivering up to 15 hours of continuous usage.

Dell Launches Two New Venue Tablets, The Venue 10 and Venue 10 Pro

We know you haven’t quite recovered from Dell’s super slim Venue 8 7000 tablet introduction which took place at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, but nonetheless, we’re still very excited to break the news that the electronic giant is about to add two 10-inch Android/Windows tablets to its burgeoning Venue lineup.

The two expected slates, the Venue 10, which packs an Android Lollipop platform under the hood, and the Venue 10 Pro, which runs the Windows 8 version, are said to include a pressure-sensitive Wacom pen performance technology, as well as configurable screens and a plastic chassis covering the top (either in blue or black flavors). There’s also a keyboard dock, which connects underneath in the portrait orientation, with both models to house a quad-core Intel Atom processor onboard, along with a SIM card slot for optional LTE network, full-sized/micro-USB ports, a microSD card reader, 10 hours battery, and activity alert light signal, designed for teachers to know when the kids are using the internet.

In terms of pricing and availability, the new Venue tablets will come with a $299 price tag each, while adding the keypad dock will result in an extra $50 ($349), and the stylus touchscreen pen isn’t for free either. But it still seems like a very good price after all.

We’ve already got the chance to see Dell’s ultra thin Venue 8 7000 slate when it was first unveiled back in September but now, at CES 2015 the 8.4-inch slab, powered by a 2.3GHz Intel Atom quad-core processor, is finally set to make a debut. And while not as cheap as some other mid-range Android devices available on  the market right now, it is reassuring to know that your money is going to be well spent and not wasted on some ordinary specs. In that concern, the Venue 8 7000 device is well equipped with a stunning QHD 2,560 x 1,600 OLED edge-to-edge display, alongside Intel’s state-of-the-art Real Sense Snapshot 3D camera. That’s right, the tablet houses an in-depth rear 8MP camera at the bottom as well as duo 720p stereoscopic sensors atop. The Venue 7000 is definitely one of the first tablets to incorporate Intel’s latest 3D technology, hence the reason it arouses a lot of curiosity among the geeksters around the world.

Measuring in only 6mm thin (thinner than the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3) the Venue 8 7000 is said to include 2GB of RAM under the lid, along with your choice of WiFi or LTE connectivity options, an Android 4.4 KitKat for the OS and an internal memory of 16GB which can be further expanded via a microSDXC memory card.

Dell To Unveil World Thinnest Tablet

Dell, one of the well-known manufacturer of electronic and tech devices, announced a brand new 8.4-inch tablet at the Intel Developer Forum today in San Francisco, California. Inspired by the iPad success, tablet makers have been battling to produce thinner devices. Dell is obviously one of the leading candidates for the highly prestigious accolade, and with its recent revelation, the Venue 8 7000, the company is aiming to set the new standards.

At only 6mm thick, the new slab, which will run on an Intel Atom Z3500 Moorefield chip, is supposed to be the world’s thinnest tablet ever made. So thin, that when you hold it to the light, you are able to see your hand through it (just kidding). As said, It sports an 8.4-inch 2560 x 1600 pixel edge-to-edge OLED display on top of the surface, tucked with 16GB of internal storage, plus an 8 megapixel camera on the back with a 2 megapixel front shooter. Dell is also setting the line with Intel’s latest technology, known as the RealSense 3D platform. It basically capable of turning any map into an in-depth 3D look in a snap.

More over, the rectangular 7000 model is also expected to pack  2 or 3GB of RAM, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE type, plus micro-USB 2.0 ports, and an Android KitKat for the operating system.

If you want to hold out for the Venue 8 7000 it should be available by the 2014 holiday season, with prices yet to be announced.

Dell Outs Two Android Venue Tablets, Starting at $160

Dell is refreshing its Android tablet lineup with two new budget offerings: Dell Venue 7 and Venue 8. The two slates which are considered as updated versions of the existing Venue series, will be powered by a more powerful processor under the hood and should be featuring Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

As you can guess, Dell’s Venue 7 is the 7-inch tinier model in the series, with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution that yields good color contrast, great for video, gaming, electronic books and browsing. It comes with 16GB of internal storage, as well as microSD card expansion (up to 64GB), 1GB of RAM, and pair of cameras, with the primary one at 5 megapixels and the front-facing VGA snapper at 1 megapixels overall.  The commodity processor used in this model is a dual-core Intel Atom (Z3460) ‘Merrifield’ processor clocked at 1.6GHz, and the cost of the slab is ridiculously low – only $159.99 and not a single dime more. It weighs only 290 gm, and comes in swish black or red colors.

The Venue 8, is an obvious upgrade choice with 8-inch IPS display and a full-HD (1920×1200 pixels) resolution on top. It has the same set of cameras, only with a slightly bigger 2 megapixels shooter on the front. There’s a faster Intel Atom Z3480 processor inside, and the battery is of 4550mAh. It will go live online starting July 1 at $199.99 and the same variety of colors.

Dell Announces Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro Windows 8.1 Tablets

If Android operating system is not exactly your cup of tea and if you aren’t as enthused as holding a Microsoft Windows tablet in your hand, Dell’s Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro might be a really good option. Well, at least if you are willing to shell out a minimum of $300 for the 8-inch tablet, and up to $500 for the 10.8-inch model. Yes, the Venue 11 screen size is actually a little bit smaller than you’d expect, but not that much. In any case, the display on this particular Dell device is a full HD with 1920 X 1080 pixels resolution and with 10 multi-touch points at a time. Measuring in at 8.9mm thick and tipping the scales at 712g (or 798g, depending on setup), the new Venue 11 Pro has a matte-textured design and offers up to 10 hours of battery life. Moreover, this tablet uses Intel’s Atom quad-core Bay Trail processors under the hood, or alternatively, Intel’s fourth-gen Haswell Core i3/ Core i5 chips, has two cameras, front at 8-megapixel and back camera with 2-megapixel resolution, massive 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, WiDi wireless capabilities, Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC control. The Windows 8.1 device comes equipped with a range of ports, including HDMI out, a full-size USB 3.0, and a microSD card slot, expandable up to 64GB of storage on the go. 

Dell will also offer an accessory bundle to complement the Venue 11 Pro, including a folding style case with keyboard, similar to the one offered by Redmond with Microsoft’s flagship model, the Surface Pro, a Mobile Keyboard which will get you an additional built-in battery, full keyboard and touchpad capabilities plus USB and HDMI ports.

The Venue 8 Pro is Dell’s compact 8-inch iteration, running Intel’s new Atom quad-core processor code-named Bay Trail inside, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The 8.8mm thick device packs a 1,280 x 800 IPS display on board (with an optional digitizer pen), as well as a Micro-USB 2.0 port, 802.11n wifi connectivity, and a pair of cameras: 5-megapixel on the back, and a 1.2-megapixel in front. The tablet will be available in WiFi-only, HSPA+ and/or LTE configurations on October 18 for the reasonable price mentioned above.

Dell Introduces Venue 7 and Venue 8 Android Jelly Bean Tablets

Dell, the popular company that manufactures and sells desktop and laptop computers all around the world, was notably absent from the tablet market scene for quite some time, but not anymore. The US electronic giant has just unveiled a pair of new Android tablets at a press event in New York City;  both of which use the moniker “Venue” and are likely to run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. In addition to that, the two newcomers from Dell, which appear to be a more accessible and budget-friendly than before, will respectively include 1.6GHz/2GHz dual-core Intel Z2580 chips under the lid, alongside a 1,280 x 800 IPS panel, a microSD slot expansion (expandable up to 64 GB), GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, and a Wifi-only option, with a choice for you to upgrade to a 4G LTE version. 

So, what’s the difference between the two, you ask? While both slates are practically the same in terms of quality and performance (with a minor advantage to the bigger model), the smallest device out of the two, also known as the Venue 7, will basically come up with a 7-inch screen, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera plus a 3-megapixel camera on the back, a total of 16GB of internal storage, and a relatively small and very lightweight body shape (only 8.3 ounces in weight).

The Venue 8, on the other hand, will obviously have a slightly bigger screen on top (at 8 inches diagonally), along with a little better camera set on both sides (2 megapixels on the front and 5 megapixels on the back), and the privilege to choose between 16GB and 32Gb of internal storage mods. As already mentioned, this tablet version is actually a tad larger than the first one, at 10.3 ounces and 8.3 x 5.1 x 0.35-inches all around, compared to the 7.6 x 4.6 x 0.38-inches the 7-incher boasts. 

The new tablets are due out October 18, in red or black hues, with prices to range between $149 for the Venue 7 model , and up to $179 for the basic Venue 8 flavor.

Dell Latitude 10 Tablet Spotted Running Windows 8

We all know that tech world is changing directions every year or so. But what about Dell? Do they plan on switching to another OS? It’s hard to tell at the moment, but according to a document obtained by the good guys over at NeoWin, the US-based computers giant is seriously considering a Windows 8 tablet. Whether it’s true or not, we’re looking at a Dell Latitude 10 running Microsoft’s latest and greatest platform on board. The slate is listed with a 10.1-inch 1366×769 touchscreen, and said to include Intel’s dual-core Atom processor under the hood. In addition, it will be offering a fingerprint reader, paired with 2GB of RAM, and up to 128GB SSD in storage capacity. You’ll get to choose between a smaller battery that delivers between six to eight hours, or a bigger one with an estimated 12 hours of  working life. No announced price or availability yet.

Dell’s 10-inch Tablets Lineup Gets Detailed

We’ve already seen the Dell tablets roadmap for 2011 – 2012, but the guys over at AndroidCentral seem to have a whole new slide, with more specs and release dates. Apparently, there are three new tablets on stake, one, Latitude ST, running Windows 7 on board, along with Intel’s brand new Oak Trail processor, 1366 x 768 screen resolution, 2GB of RAM, up to a 128GB SSD, dual cameras, an accelerometer, HDMI-out and a removable battery pack which is capable to switch on for up to 8 hours of continuous work. While the other two, Streak Pro and Latitude XT-3, boast a 10-inch and a 13-inch displays, respectively, paired with dual cameras, and Android Honeycomb on top. Regretfully, there is no word on price, but the latest slide indicates the Latitude ST will go live this October, while the Android-powered tablets are claimed to start rolling a bit earlier – The Streak Pro in June and the Latitude XT3, one month later.

Dell Streak 7 Finally Gets a $379 WiFi-Only Version

We’re not so sure how many of you would actually be quite happy to pay $450 for a brand new Dell Streak 7 off-contract, given the fact that iPad 2 will cost as much as $50 more. That being said, a WiFi only version of this Android Froyo tablet had been certified, earlier this week, and been listed on Amazon for a $379.99 pre-order – Which are $70 less than the 3G-enabled flavor, or $120 under apple’s latest and greatest second-gen tablet. Is that good enough? I’m thinking this price now will make it worth the purchase. Hit the jump to read the specs.

Dell’s 2011 Tablets Slide Unveiled

Considering the fact that we’ve already seen a couple of leaked Dell roadmap slides in 2010, doesn’t mean we’re not interested to see a few slides more; on the contrary, we’d love to get ’em if you have any, in particular those planned for 2013, 2014, and on and on. As for 2011/2012, the Androidcentral guys have somehow managed to obtain Dell’s tablets forecast, and it’s here presented to you with much enthusiasm and galore. According to the roadmap we’re seeing, Dell’s Streak 10 is only few days away from launching, as far as the Q1 “storyline” goes, while in Q2 we should expect the Dell Gallo tablet, with a Honeycomb flavor attached, and a Streak 7 update somewhere in the late July. Staying in that Q2 framework for a moment, we’re also looking at Dell’s 10-inch Windows 7 slate, planned under the codename Rosemount and scheduled for June, with a 1366 x 768 pixels resolution display that supports HD 720p video transmission. Jumping forward to Q4 and Q1 of 2012, there’s a number of entries worthy of a mention, including the Honeycomb-powered Dell Sterling device (due out in late October), the Dell Opus One and Dell Silver Oak, both are due to go on sale in 2012 running Android Honeycomb platform within, and last but not least, the Dell Peju that makes a grand entrance with Windows 8 on board.

So there you have it, fellow readers; It’s definitely going to be an interesting year for the tablets form factor, at least as far as Dell is concerned.

Dell Streak 7 Has a Secret Phone Feature

Is Dell hiding secrets from us? Well, one can pretty much assume that if the 5-inch Streak comes with integrated 3G phone capabilities, its bigger sibling, the Streak 7, most definitely has them too – but regretfully it doesn’t. Not exactly. According to the good guys at Streak Smart, Dell’s new 7-inch Android Froyo tablet does seem to have this hidden phone application transplanted under the lid, only that no one has been willing to share it with us, at least until now. True, it doesn’t really work the other direction. In other words, there’s not much to do with it right now, and calls just won’t go through or get connected. Still, it’s really something to hope for, right? Well, can’t wait till it finally happens (and be sure it would). Until then, make sure you hit the jump and watch the video.

Dell Streak 7 Finally Gets Official, With Dual-Core Tegra 2 and Android Froyo On Board

Of course we’ve already seen Dell tease us all with its upcoming 7-inch Android tablet, back in September. But today we finally get a chance to see a real unit of Dell’s production model, this time with a few more details, worth knowing, attached and the oh-so-not-surprising “Streak 7” moniker. And while availability or pricing are still particularly vague – excluding the rumors that indicate a release “in the coming weeks” – other specifications include an Android 2.2 platform (and potentially upgrade to 3.0?), paired with a Gorilla Glass-protected touchscreen, 16GB of storage, a 1.3MP front-facing camera (plus 5mp on the back) and a powerful 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor to improve your overall graphics and let you watch high-res content on board. Update3: T-Mobile will be offering the 7-inch, Android Froyo slate, powered by 4G capabilities and equipped with NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 graphics, starting February 2nd, for $199.99 on a two-year contract (including a $50 mail-in rebate), or just $450 off contract.

Update4: And looks like Dell’s WiFi-only Streak 7 tablet officially goes live in the UK, with prices starting at £299 (about $485), and specs that include pretty much the same lineup (3G capabilities aside): a 7-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen, paired with a Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, 16GB of storage, a rear 5 megapixel camera, and another one at 1.3 megapixel up front. Regretfully, there’s “only” Android 2.2 running on board, but hopefully a Honeycomb update will be available for this device, somewhere before the Fall.

Dell Now Selling Unlocked Streak Devices In the US With Android Froyo On Board

It’s been susptected and rumored, but now it’s offical. As of today, Dell is finally offering through its US online store a number of unlocked Streak devices, preloaded with Android 2.2 OS and different types of hard drive storage forms. There’s a 16GB Carbon Black version, now being offered unlocked for $579.99, or the same device only with 32GB of internal memory that will run you in exchange for $678.99 – and not a single extra dime. We’re still unsure exactly whether the cards themselves are locked to AT&T SIM only, or perhaps come fully compatibile with most other 3G networks. One way or another, it sure feels good having Google’s latest Android Froyo tossed inside, and for this matter, there are many different reasons that will backup this assertion: Whether it’s the pinch-to-zoom attraction, the 3G hotspot creation, a USB tethering usability or Adobe’s Flash playback support. And it’s all happening on a 5 -inch pocketable device, remember?

Dell Inspiron Duo is Officially Official

Well, we knew it was only a matter of days before Dell’s new hybrid machine, the Inspiron Duo, would officially become real. And while the 10.1-inch tablet / netbook device isn’t exactly available for pre-orders yet (Dell says it should probably go live soon), we can finally tell you what’s on it, when it’ll be out, somewhere around the first week of December. Generally speaking, the basic model will run you for $549 (about £450), packing a dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor, along with 2GB of RAM, 250GB of storage, a Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator, and Windows 7 Home Premium for the OS. However, there are plenty of optional extras that can be added to Dell’s ordinary bundle, such as the JBL speaker dock, that will definitely upgrade your day-to-day experience and make it, in our humble opinion, a lot more comfortable. But it would cost you a lot, a hundred bucks more. So there you have it – make it yours or let it go – it’s your freedom of choice.

Update: And looks like the 10.1-inch Dell Inspiron Duo tablet / netbook hybrid is finally up at Dell‘s online store and available for purchase, starting at $549 for the base mode, which packs (as you already know) a dual-core Atom N550 processor, together with Windows 7 Home Premium for the OS, 2GB of RAM and plenty of other goodies on board. Dell Streaks Finally Gets The Android 2.2 Update

For those of you who already purchased an unlocked version of Streak, you should check with your 5-inch slate immediately, as word on the street claims that Dell has finally started rolling out the Android Froyo update that you’ve all been waiting for. You may or may not find it available for a download right away but you’ll have to believe us, it’s there, so be patient. As for people who bought the locked version, make sure you check out again next month. In addition to that, the coming update will also include Dell’s new Stage UI layer, which I hope you’ll find useful in getting on top of Google’s Android 2.2 update. And finally, according to a StreakSmart report, unlocked Streak devices are said to arrive to the US, preloaded with Froyo OS platform, in the next month or so. Please stay tuned.

Remember that Dell Inspiron Duo we’ve seen not too long ago at Intel’s IDF 2010 summit? Well, now it has an official video teaser demo, which mainly focuses on the 10.1-inch tablet and the way it can be handled both in JBL speaker or netbook attachment modes. And, while this short 35-second footage doesn’t tell you very much at all about the package itself or any other specs this cool device boasts, we do like the ending part of it and to be more specific: the “coming soon” title that hints towards a possibility of a close and viable release or at least another glimmer of hope.

Dell teases With a New 7-inch Android Tablet Device

Michael Dell, one of the most influential CEOs in tech world, has just unveiled a 7-inch Android-powered tablet while going on stage at the Oracle conference event, Wednesday. Unfortunately, it was only a brief introduction without sufficient explanation or anything special to report, but the way it’s shown has me thinking the upcoming tablet is some sort of a larger version of the company’s 5-inch Streak which already made its way out to the market couple months before. In his words, the top executive manager said: “Of course, it’s nice to have a larger screen,” but refused to elaborate as to what exactly it was. At the meantime, until we get the nitty gritty info, you can gently hit the jump and catch up with Oracle’s recent video footage shot.

Update: The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Dell’s upcoming 7-inch device will be out “very, very soon.” The business magazine is quoting Dell’s Greater China President Amit Midha who said there will be “a whole slew” of new Android slates which Dell is planning to offer in 7-inch, 10-inch, 4-inch and 3-inch variations. It’s day two at Intel’s IDF 2010 summit and it’s finally heating up, literally and metaphorically, as Dell officially announces a neat 10.1-inch swiveling netbook / tablet hybrid machine, running Windows 7 Premium for the OS and boasting Intel’s dual-core Atom N550 processor under the lid. Sure, we’ve already seen these kind of prototypes in the past (Lenovo anyone?), but nothing that could really make us satisfied like Dell’s new Inspiron Duo device. Dell’s 10.1-inch Inspiron Mini 1018 Netbook Officially Goes Live in Europe

Seems like Dell is keeping up with their most awesome ultra-portable netbooks lineup fresh with this nice, slick and colorful (over 130 different covers from Dell Design Studio including collections from OPI, Threadless, and PRODUCT RED) Mini 1018 device. The new release runs £279 (about $435) in Europe, and in return you’ll get a nice batch of top-notch components, including a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, a 10.1-inch WSVGA 1,024 x 600 display, 1GB of DDR3 memory, 250GB hard drive, a front-facing webcam, 802.11n WiFi connectivity, dual SRS Premium audio speakers and last but not least, a Windows 7 Starter version that’s supposed to handle the entire platform under the hood. Dell says that world wide shipping should take place “soon” – In case any of y’all (non European residents) wondered.

Dell Streak Caught On Video Running Android 2.1 OS

While Dell is still being elusive when it comes to when we will be able to pick up its wonderful 5-inch Android-based tablet/phone device from local US retail stores, Dell’s Kevin Andrew has taken the burgeoning conversation into the vids and uploaded a Youtube vlog where he talks openly about the Streak and demos the Android 2.1 platform running with Dell’s customized build, in front of the camera. Hopefully, it would go on retail (somewhere this summer) running Froyo 2.2 inside and painted with cherry red colors from the outside, but at the meantime, until it happens, you’ll have to settle with your Android 1.6 version (if you happen to have a Dell Streak machine already) and the 2.1 flavor presented on the web.

On a different note, we hear that Dell will be offering the Streak in the US for $299.99 with a two-year contract at AT&T or $549.99, free of any obligations. Checkout the video after the break.

Update1: Guess what? Dell is officially going to start selling the 5-inch Streak In the US, through AT&T, coming this Friday morning. How much? $299 with a 2 years contract or $549.99 in case you prefer the “no obligation” relations. We are still to confirm whether it would sell with the usual Android 1.6 platform, an Android 2.1 or anything better (AKA: Froyo). PR after the break.

Update2: I guess it was too good to be true. Turns out the aforementioned $549 off-contract version is…how should we say, not exactly unlocked as some of you might have thought. According to official Dell sources the “free” Dell Streak tablet, “will not be SIM unlocked”, which means you stay connected to AT&T whether you buy the more-expensive version or not.

Dell has just gone official with its captivating 5-inch Streak (AKA: Mini 5), which is set for release on June 4th in the UK, and is expected to hit the rest of Europe sometime after, with US debut to take place only later this summer. First and foremost it’s a tablet with everything you could want, including a gorgeous 800 x 480 multitouch display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 16GB of integrated memory (expandable up to 32GB more through a microSD slot), a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, Android 1.6 for the OS and Dell’s customized UI layer, sitting on top. And despite Dell’s best efforts to keep us thinking it is “the ultimate portable tablet pc” that you will ever need on-the-go, in practice it’s also an HSDPA 7.2Mbps / HSUPA 5.76 Mbps smartphone that can easily dial-in and dial-out your phone calls, in case you’re using either UMTS 900/2100 & UMTS 850/1900/2100 or GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 networks. Dell’s Leaked Roadmap Photo Reveals More Netbooks/Tablets Coming This Summer

Looks like known Android-powered slabs such as the 5-inch Streak and 7-inch Looking Glass tablet, are not the only ones that Dell is planning to launch at full scale this very busy summer. In fact, according to a roadmap image acquired by Android Central guys exclusively, the Texan corp appears to have plenty more goodies, safely kept and well hidden under its dark out-of-range garner. And this ain’t a Dell fanboy talking trash, you know, this is something real, something concrete, that most geek audience should lend an ear to. This time, we have two Moblin devices ready to break cover and go under the spotlight in early and late Autumn. The first, known as the Sparta netbook tablet, packs an 11-inch 1024 x 768 display, paired with ARM Cortex processor, along with a special swivel base and a batch of optional connections, including WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G WWAN. The second in this session is the 0.9kg Athens “true” netbook, boasting that same similar ingredients its Sparta sibling has, like the aforementioned ARM processor and those several optional connectivity modules. This one however tucked with a non-swivel 11-inch platform. The third in that page, is the 7-inch Looking Glass Pro Android tablet which appears to be exactly like Dell’s neat Looking Glass Android tablet, spotted by engadget folks, couple days before. And then, there’s another one in this class, the LG Pro, which features premium components like advanced “HD screen” and digital TV tuner on top of the very basic fare. Finally, and most exciting for us on a personal level, is the 5-inch Streak, which according to this document suppose to come out in three different lanes: the US T-Mobile and European Vodafone versions, slated for this summer as well, while Chinese flavors are set for a Q4 release under all major carriers. Dell’s 7-Inch Looking Glass Tablet Unveiled, Coming Up In November With Tegra 2 Inside

Well, hello there…what do we have in here, a new tablet from Dell? I mean don’t get us wrong here, it’s not that we haven’t heard anything about it before, but this time it gets a lot more juicy details to share. First and foremost is the name – Looking Glass – which its creator apparently chose because of the glossy 7-inch display the tablet boasts. Screen resolution, BTW, is at 800×480 pixels only, which is kind of surprising, considering that Dell’s 5-inch Streak technically packs the same numbers. Still, you can’t go wrong when it comes to an android 2.1 machine, powered by Nvidia’s powerful Tegra 2 processor, can you? And if that wasn’t enough, how about 4GB of RAM, paired with a 1.3mp camera, an optional ATSC/DVB-T TV tuner, and 4GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via an SDHC slot, that Dell plans to include inside – pretty cool, isn’t it? Unfortunately it is not due out until November of this year, so right now, you’ll have to settle with the line of specs, after the break.

Dell’s 7 and 10-inch Streak Tablets Show Up In The Wild

While still haven’t had a real chance to tackle with  Dell’s Mini 5 personally, it looks like more attractively designed Dell Streak models are planed to come out. Yes, the name of Dell’s new lineup is “Streak“, remember? And according to a batch of leaked documents acquired by Engadget it suppose to include a 7-inch and 10-inch Streak tablets both said to be available somewhere this summer for a nondisclosure price – fascinating! Stay tuned, there’s a lot more to come.

Dell Mini 10 Gets a WiMAX Update, Needs To Pass FCC First

As it looks, Dell’s Mini 10 netbooks are about to receive a major update, once they get through the FCC certification process, a matter of week or two. And while most specs apparently remain pretty much the same, connection on the other hand turns to be a lot more faster with bigger coverage compared to predecessors’ range. That, results from Round Rock’s new WiMAX adapter, Intel WiFi-Link 6250, that was stuffed inside the tiny portable laptops and aims to make a change. Other than that, for a $299 starting price you buy yourself that same good 10.1-inch display, tucked with a Pine Trail Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, 250GB hard-drive, a 6-cell battery and an optional Broadcom Crystal HD graphics card. Availability is unknown at the moment, but probably will go live when clearance is finally granted.

Dell's Slate Makes First Appearance at CES With Android 2.0, 3G And Wireless Connectivity (Update: Mini 5)

Nothing much to share at this point, but Dell has revealed a new slate/tablet device at its keynote speech at CES in Vegas. Designed like a business smartphone, and some would say it is one considering the SIM slot it boasts, the new Reddish device  includes an Android platform preloaded inside, and a 5-inch touchscreen on top. There’s also an integrated 5MP camera at the back and three clickable buttons on the right – Home, Back and (maybe) apps. Furthermore, up the hill, it houses three additional buttons which looks like ON/OFF, camera and volume support. We’ve also spotted a built-in mic and Bluetooth, but that’s all we have for now.

Update1: engadget guys were lucky to sit around the table with Dell’s representative who was kind enough to give a quick tour and show them Dell’s new mysterious slate in a snap. From first impression we’re guessing it’s an Android 1.6 platform that runs inside, but quiet positive there’s a nice numpad add-on included in the keyboard and a tiny face camera right on front. We’re not sure whether it’d be called Mini 5 or codename Streak, but color us impressed from the way it performed. Vid and thumbs, after the break.

Update2: Turns out it’s a 5-inch mid, boasting 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen,along integrated WiFi and 3G WWAN connectivity. It runs Android 2.0 (Eclair) instead of that 1.6 flavor and seems to endure a dual-LED flash 5mp camera behind and a 1,300mAh battery within. We’ve added another video after the break, courtesy of Slashgear and some Vietnamese chaps.

Update3: The Tinhte team has taken Dell’s Android-based Mini 5 slate/mid to a teardown session, and guess what they’ve found under the hood – a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, two microSD slots, integrated SIM card with 3G radio and a 1,530mAh battery, stronger than expected. Update4: TechCrunch guys have managed to catch up with Michael Dell himself somewhere outside Davos conference halls, and look what he got, a “Mini 5” slate, in his words, which suppose to go live “in “a couple of months” with an Android based platform, 3G connectivity, 5MP camera and other good stuff. Update5: Dell says its latest Mini 5 will not run an Android 1.6 platform, but “something newer”, which we can’t confirm yet. In any case, it’s going to be refreshing and upgradable.

Update6: Apparently, the Mini 5 has a docking station which suppose to include HDMI output and a USB port. Check it out in T3 Greek Edition’s video after the break.

Update7: Looks like there’s plenty of stuff ahead. According to Neeraj Choubey, Dell’s tablet division GM, the Mini 5 is part of “a family of tablets” that will “scale up to a variety of sizes.” Some, are claimed to include “inexpensive data plans” in the bundle, some just Android powered.

Update8: Apart from the 5-inch 800 x 480 WVGA touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, and the 30-pin docking connector, it seems that Dell will offer the Mini 5 (or Streak, depends who you ask) in wide range of premium colors. Hit the break to see your options.

Update9: Michael Dell says his 5-inch Streak “…will be available starting next month, first with our partner 02 Telefonica in Europe, then later this summer with our pretty good partner here in the United States, AT&T.” You hear that. Next month!

Intel’s Pine Trail platform is live, kicking and ready to go. The latest introduction of that series comes from Dell and its Inspiron Mini 10 which is now reported to include the Atom N450 processor, which suppose to give a little boost to that Windows 7 Starter the netbook runs. Besides that, for a starting price of $299 you should see basic specs like 10.1-inch 1024×600 display,160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM and 3-cell battery, all packed under that same slick and squarish hood. However, for extra charge you’re being offered – and whether or not you want to accept it’s up to you – to enhance your experience with a 1366 x 768 display, a six-cell battery, producing 9.5 hours work time in one single charge, four shiny colors, Bluetooth, WWAN, GPS, TV tuner and a strong Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator for flawless high-def chime – that would probably cost you few hundreds dollar more, but should be worth a try. Dell’s Atom Mini 10v Netbook Pops Up In The Wild (Update: Now With New SSD Flavors)

Looks like Dell is sneaking out to the market another netbook version, which seems to be one of those Mini 10 sequels, only with Intel’s Atom N270 processor instead of the Z lineup. Having its first appearance on Dell’s May catalog [PDF link], the new Mini 10v edition, which also carries the titles “Bear” or model 1011, will pack the usual 120GB hard drive, along with a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP onboard – all attractively priced at $299 (that’s $100 less than Dell’s Mini 10 basic package) and about to be released this month.

Update1: Dell just added two new SSD drives, allowing Mini 10 users to upgrade their storage specs,� either with 32GB or 64GB capacities for an extra $75 or $125, respectively.

Update2: Looks like Dell’s Mini 10v netbook is now officially up for order In the company’s online store with a ship,ent delivery, scheduled for June.

Update3: Hit the jump to watch Doug Anson, Dell’s Technology Strategist , displaying Dell’s Mini 10v netbooks running three different operating systems, including Ubuntu, “netbook remix” and even the Android platform, which clearly proves the company has some pretty neat aspirations for future lineups.

Update4: It seems like Dell’s Mini 10v netbook now gets a Nickelodeon edition, which packs pretty much the same lineup the usual version has, only with lime green flavors splashing all over the place. Price, on the other hand, is $30 more than the usual, standing at $329.

We all wish for bigger and faster hard drives inside our laptops (particularly in Dell’s Mini 9 netbook) and the guys at Jkkmobile have proved us again it’s “easy” and possible to get better ones, specially if you have any electronic affinity or DIY passion. Although this modding process might intimidate many of you, there’s nothing sensational to be done besides the unscrewing and replacing actions, which are considered to be the facile part, while putting things back together is the “more difficult” stage in the process, but those who read these lines probably won’t mind watching the video after the break.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook Goes Live

After the Mini 9 and the Mini 12, Dell rolls out the 10-inch version, which naturally answers the name Mini 10. The new netbook comes with more advanced specs, including an integrated 3G cellular connectivity, a built-in TV tuner edge-to-edge keyboard with multi-touch capabilities and an amazing 10-inch display, supporting 720P 1366 x 768 resolution. Other details are pretty usual, as the Mini 10 features an Atom Z530 CPU and 802.11 Wi-Fi connection. No further info to share, concerning memory, storage options, pricing or availability. Stay tuned.

Update1: apparently, you can find it in Tesco, with specs including 1.6GHz Atom Z530, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, a multi-touch trackpad, Windows XP and 10-inch display (of course) for £349 ($480). Mind you, the top version which includes built-in GPS and optional WWAN might be priced much higher.

Update2: Turns out the Tesco thing was just a fiasco, and the 10-inch Dell netbook was apparently just a Mini 9 version, so i guess you should probably wait further more.

Update3: It seems like QVC.Com is taking orders and first buyers will be able to get their Dell Mini 10 on March 20th, while Dell.Com will be taking orders on the 26th.

update4: the Inspiron Mini 10 is now available at Dell’s website, six days before the reported date. Naturally, it’ll include all the aforementioned specs, with a starting price that suppose to be similar to QVC’s 559$ price tag.

Update5: Bummer. The Dell Mini 10 comes with a non-upgradable RAM slot. The meaning is that you won’t be able to add more memory to the already-exist 1GB stick, and while other brands give their users a full access to replace their RAM or Hard Drives, this move from Dell looks very foolish.

Update 6: Despite some disturbing delays, those who prefer buying the native 1,366 x 768 resolution screen (with 720P support), instead of the regular 1,024 x 576 display, can finally get it for extra $35 in Dell’s website.

Update 7: From now on, Chinese users will also be able to get the Mini 10 in their country, as the new netbook was just announced there and will be available on China Mobile with a full 3G data package.

Update8: Dell just added a new configuration to the Mini 10, allowing you to upgrade your brand new netbook into a 6-cell battery, by dropping only $30 more.

Dell Rolls Out a 32GB Inspiron Mini 9 Netbook In Japan

Remember this reddish Dell Mini 9 netbook, that showed up in the wild, back on May? turns out it will make a debut in Japan tommorow morning with a 32GB SSD drive and a pink cover as an option. Regretfully, there’s no word on worldwide availability, but Japanese citizens will have the priviledge to buy it for ¥54,980 or $565. In the meantime, the rest of you can settle with either the black or the white versions.

Update: the 32GB SSD drive upgrade is now available for all Mini 9 buyers for $100 more, over the standard 4GB SSD version.

Dell To Rename The Mini 9 Netbook As Vostro A90 (Update: Now Available In The US)

After two sturdy months in the market, Dell decides to rebrand its own Inspiron Mini 9, as Vostro A90 business netbook, to be available in Japan only, for an expropriated price of ¥92,830 ($999). This awkward move doesn’t have any reason attached, and the price tag might hint the company tries to target premium markets, but despite the refreshing design, the specs remain the same, including the usual Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processor, an 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 display, 1GB of RAM and up to 8GB SSD storage drive. In short, it really doesn’t matter if Dell smells something we don’t or the Inspiron version wasn’t answering the expectations, bottom line is that people can do the math for themselves, either buying a Mini 9 for $449 or nabbing a Vostro A90 for almost $1000, at their next Asian trip.

Update: Dell’s Vostro A90 has finally reached US shores, offering a 4-cell battery, together with 802.11g connection, 0.3 megapixel webcam, 16GB SSD and the aforementioned Atom processor, for a starting price of $349, which is way more reasonable than last time we were checking.

As promised, the new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 makes an official debut right on time, with a $349 starting price, for basic Ubunutu specs, which climbs up to $449 for the XP Edition version, or dramatically drops down to an imperceptible $99 bargain if you buy a Studio 15, XPS M1530 or XPS M1330 machine from Dell, until 6AM September 9th (neat). Although there’s a minor change with the brand’s name, switching from the rumored “Dell Mini Inspiron 910” into the official Dell Inspiron Mini 9, the rest of the details pretty much stay the same, with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processor, an 8.9-inch WSVGA TL screen (1024 x 600), 3-in-1 card reader, 512MB/1024MB DDR2 internal memory, three USB2.0 ports, RJ-45 Ethernet connection, VGA output, a 1.3M built-in webcam, 802.11g Wi-Fi/Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and a flash SSD drive with storage capacities, ranged from 4GB up to 8GB (at the moment). Dell Mini Inspiron 910 Gets More Details, Has Intel Atom Processor And SSD Drive

The rumored Dell Mini Inspiron (AKA: Inspiron 910) gets more details, as the guys at Gizmodo have managed to put their hands on the web documentation, including specs, pricing and some new images. As reported, the new Inspiron 910 features an 8.9-inch WSVGA TL screen (1024 x 600), 3-in-1 card reader, 512MB/1024MB DDR2 internal memory, three USB2.0 ports, RJ-45 Ethernet connection, VGA output, a 1.3M built-in webcam and more. Today, we can be certain it is equipped with an Intel Atom-based 1.6GHz N270 processor with 945GME chipset and runs either Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux OS. In addition, we learn it has a flash SSD drive with storage capacities, ranged from 4GB up to 16GB. Release date is expected to August 22nd with a competitive $299 starting price. Stay tuned, we definitely look forward to see this one in action.

Update: The Wall Street Journal reports that the Dell Inspiron 910 Mini netbook is set to to be released on Thursday the 4th for less than $400.

After the Asus Eee PC, MSI Wind and the HP 2133, there’s a new kid on the mini-laptop block, as Michael Dell has snappily revealed the new Dell Mini Inspiron at the All Things Digital conference. This sub-$500 lappy presumably features an 8.9-inch screen, a card reader, three USB ports, Ethernet connection, a VGA output, a built-in webcam and many more. We can’t be sure if it is equipped with an Atom-based processor but the Mini Inspiron is expected to run either Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux OS. Stay tuned for more details to be revealed next week at the Computex show.

iSwish brings iPhone UI to Any Windows Mobile Device

Great news for those who own Windows Mobile Devices, but continue staring at iPhone users with jealousy, as Flick Software Research has announced the release of iSwish interface and iZoom pinch software applications that amazingly simulate Apple’s multi-touch user experience, along with some other cool features, including screen flicking, animated icons, fast scrolling and even the neat zoom in-out pinching mode. It seems to be working flawlessly on Dell Axim PDA and some other Windows Mobile units, so check out the demo and expect this applications to come out in few days.

Alienware Futuristic Android Phone

Alienware’s powerful machines are known for many years. Yet, only recently, has the concept of galactic designs been put into practice and inspired the company to join forces with Dell in order to create an alien phone concept, running an Android OS platform inside, with a blue glowing grill and a slider shape structure from the outside. Sensitive touch keys and navigation joystick are part of the deal as well, but prices and availability are still missing. Connection between galaxies seems imminent.

If you have visited Dell’s website recently, trying to build your next dreamlike laptop, you could have seen some new extended components added to the XPS M1330 “Build Your Computer” section. One of these add-ons is the Build-in Wireless USB capability with Belkin 4 port hub, offered for extra 150$. Sounds exciting to me.
